RE: Cleaning RV Carpet

We use the shop vac(ours is a Rigid from Home Depot). Make a good cleaning solution of cleaner and HOT water, scrub it in to loosen the gunk, and vacuum it all up. No time hassles like with renting a rung doctor and with the shop vac attachments you can get pretty detailed.

RE: Want to add wifi to the workshop. One problem...

Distance is about 150 feet. (We live on some acreage) and there is no signal from our modem from the house in the shop.

Want to add wifi to the workshop. One problem...

Would like to add wifi to the workshop but the building is metal. I would be extending a signal from the house so I was thinking about a repeater. What are my chances for a decent signal with the metal walls?

RE: Miter saw blade suggestions (12")

Have you guys ever seen the Saw Stop? Supposed to stop the blade upon sensing your skin? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Yes, a blade sticking up has always worried me more than one pointing down, like with a miter. I've always admired the guys who could make awesome cuts with the table. I have a friend with a huge Delta table that I've always been jealous of, and he rips massive sections with it. I almost always work with small stock though in poplar, pine, hickory, even mesquite, but now venturing into oak and other hard woods. If I burn a section, I may just plane it off or sand. I could talk about wood working all day, seriously :-) Thanks for all the advice. Btw, I saw that home Depot is throwing in a $200 stand if you purchase the 12" dewalt slider double bevel miter. $599 though. The slide travels a max of 16" if memory serves. Good through the end of April. Shoot Am I even allowed to post an advertisement. Sorry....

Miter saw blade suggestions (12")

So I have a 12" double bevel slider miter saw and am making some cutting Boards. Using maple and cherry alternating long grain. Boards are 2" thick. The reason I'm using a miter saw is that the travel on the slide is almost 14", so for these projects it eliminates the need for a table saw. My question is, what is a good 12" blade for these wood types, to keep side finishing to a minimum?

RE: Downsizing, need ideas for a lightweight TT for a 4runner

I have A Hensley arrow so I'm good on the hitch. It's tricky finding a model that will sleep 5 for our set up. I looked at the jayco 228. The lance 2185. The jayco 198rd.that's about it so far. How far under the TV's GVWR of 6005lbs does the TT's GVWR need to be? I really don't care as much about the 4runner tow cap of 7,000lb. I need a lighter HW because of the heavy Hensley arrow too.

Downsizing,need ideas for a lightweight TT for a 4runner

We are selling the 09 jayco 7,000lb "Superlight" because we traded in the TV for a gas miser for the daily driver. That leaves us with an 06 4Runner 4.7L v -8 tow package, GVWR 6005lbs, tow cap of 7,000 lbs. Family of five, 3 children. About 3trips a year. My only stipulations are no hybrids and no pups. What's a good match for the 4runner?

RE: Is my clothes dryer worth fixing?

We have three kids and I must admit, I stuff it at least 3/4 full. Almost all cotton too. When we bought it, we had just had our first child, so it was mainly mom and dad clothes.

RE: Is my clothes dryer worth fixing?

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Keep them coming! Gonna take the back off tomorrow and clean out all the lint, if there is any. If no change I can get the thermostat and element for a decent price. I just refuse to pay these insane prices for appliances. I just want a dryer that gets hot and dries my clothes!

Is my clothes dryer worth fixing?

I have an LG electric dryer from 2005. Pretty basic model, nothing real fancy. It doesn't dry near as well as it used to, and I often have to run 2 entire cycles for one full load. My parents had a Kenmore set for thirty years. When their dryer quit drying as well, they just had the heating element replaced. I can get one for this unit easy, about 1/7 the cost of a new unit. Is it worth it? I'm pretty handy so the work doesn't bother me.

RE: 2014 Toyota Tundra Revealed ~~~~--->

I watched the live event this morning. Payload goes to 2000lbs is what i heard. Ive been driving Toyota trucks for years and this to me, a big disappointment. It seems obvious to me that Toyota is happy right where they are. Same engines. Same packages (except for the "SR". And what looks to be a model in homage to the Legendary King Ranch. Shoot. Miss.

RE: 2010 - 2012 Toyota Tundras 5.7 V-8

Just put my order in for a 2013 Tundra CrewMax 5.7L with the tow package. I expect it in mid February. This is my third Tundra. I had a gen 1 model from 2002, then a 2008 after the redesign, and now a 2013. The 2014s get unveiled at the Chicago auto show I think around the first week in February and yes, it will have a bigger fuel tank. I ordered a transfer flow replacement tank for the new one which will make it 46 gallons. I tow a 7,200lbs(loaded) jayco eagle Superlight 303rks with a Hensley Arrow. I average around 10-11mpg towing. I've driven Toyota trucks since I started driving in 1990. I have never had one in the shop for anything other than routine maintenance.

RE: securing a generator

Tape a picture of Cher on it. Nobody will go near it. I keep mine locked to the inside corner of the truck bed, and have a camper shell that has a lock on it too. Windows on the shell are tinted very dark. Never had a problem. But seriously, you should consider the Cher thing. :C

RE: 2012 Strong Pick-up Sales Figures

Picking up my new Tundra this weekend, be me thinks Toyota may have taken a little bailout money too. Not from the U.S., but from their own country. Heck, so many companies had their hands out in 2008-09, it looked like a virtual soup kitchen of corporate bosses crying out, "Help us. We will go under!" This thread needs a beer.
