RE: Glacier National Park
We were in Glacier last week, if your east and do not mind no hook ups inside the park at either two med or many glacier is nice, many pull throughs, clean showers, and the view in many glacier or the fact that your in the park is great.
As for what to do with kids here is a short list
Snacks, and more snacks, after breaks
we found "scavenger hunts" to be helpful. I start the hike by giving them pictures of things to find. This gives them incentive (find bear grass for example (but not a bear)
At St. Mary visit the visitor center, and in all the camp grounds in the park they have a night program
take a boat ride to twin falls hike with a ranger !
RE: Lake Ray Roberts in Texas
Both parks are good, and as noted busy. Saying that both offer plenty to do for a quick tour of Johnson branch go to this url (ink did not work)copy and paste

Portable air compressor
Hi all,
I know this will seem like a no-brainer to most everyone here but we are not comfortable with technical issues so I wanted to check with the people who know.
I want to get a new portable air compressor for use with the truck and trailer while we are traveling to keep the air pressure in the rv tires at the proper pressure. It sure rides much better when the pressure is correct!
The air compressor we've have been using is really to inflate rafts ect. and it has worked for a couple of years but it has bit the dust and hubby doesn't want to research for a new on, too embarrassed to admit he doesn't know a thing about this kind of stuff so here I am doing just that.
I've looked at Walmart and auto zone. They offer the exact same compressors by slime.
However, the one designated as "heavy duty" listing RVs and trucks on the label has a PSI of 150, while the smaller unit listed for cars has a PSI of 300. The heavy duty unit does have the screw on adapter for the tire valve stem, the other just have the clamp on (like my hand bike pump has). I assume the screw on mount would perform better but the PSI ratings have me confused.
Isn't the higher PSI rating better for the RV and truck tires? Why does the "heavy duty" compressor have half the PSI rating as the other and cost twice as much.
Which should I get him?
Thank you all.

RE: Oil Change for Expedition
Thanks to all. I talked to DH at work, he is awake now compared to last night after an allnighter on a flight from Europe.
Seems the people who he has been dealing with had the oil type right on the window and that he had spoken to them about what we do with the vehicle (occational towing, etc.) and they agreed on the type of oil so I ended up there again though I think they charge too much.
Oil Change for Expedition
Hi all,
Husband asked me to get the oil changed in the truck. In the past, we have just gotten the routine oil change.
However, since I am going this time: I thought I'd ask for your suggestions. The reason we have gotten the routine in the past still holds true. We do not get out much, only a few times a year since we still both work and only go, at the most, 4 hours. But, the truck is a 2004 and I was wondering if we should be using the synthetic oil to prolong its well-being or should I wait until we tow more?
Thank you.
RE: Sway Control bar too old?
Thank you for your replies. I will tighten it more and see if that eliminates the problem. DH takes it off and I put in on so he may have backed it off more than I realized and I not tightening it enough thus making it too loose.
Can I overtighten it? I will look for a bolt on the bottom when I go over tomorrow to get it ready for this weekend.
I hope you don't mind -- I've got another question.
Are we restricted on how tight a turn we can take with the devise on? When we get to our storage facility I have to take a very tight U turn it part it in its slot. Fortunately for us it is on the last space and I do not have to back it in between two trailers just take the tight U. Currently, we remove it before I pull it in that is why DH removes it. I am the driver to position it in the storage space as he cannot judge distance between our trailer in moving next to the trailer next to us and he came very close to hitting it so.....I now do the pulling in as I have better distance judgement.

Sway Control bar too old?
Hi Everyone,
I did a search and did not see my question addressed, though I may have missed it. If so, sorry for the repeat.
We are going on our third year towing our Coyote with a weight distribution hitch and a sway control device that hooks on the side.
My husband has been feeling some sway which he had not felt before. One time, even I could feel the trailer follow a truck going past! It was really scary.
So, I am trying to figure out why and a solution.
Two things to consider: 1) in previous years the sway control always moved very freely in and out of the outer case. This year it feels "sticky", does not move nearly as freely. I still tighten it "just enough so the tightening bar does not fall down on its own, not so tight as to require alot of force to put the long handle parrell to the ground as instructed by the dealer.
2) we usually tow with 3 - 5 gallons of water and this year the service center that dewinterized it for us did not fill the fresh water tank so it is bone dry.
I could loosen the sway with some WD40 if the "sticky" part is the issue and/or add water. I will do this regardless.
I am just wondering: Can a sway control bar stop working? Get too old in three years? Doesn't seem probable but I don't know if they wear out and how one would know that it is "worn out and needs to be replaced." I don't mind purchasing a new one if that is the way to go, just can't see as that is the most likely reason for our problem.
Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Wendy
DeGray VS. Petit Jean State Parks in AR
Hello fellow campers,
We are trying to decide between these two AR state parks.
Does DeGray have a "swim beach" area? It looks like there is not at Petit Jean's, just a pool. I see a lot of hikes at Petit Jeans, are there any at DeGray?
Is there any way to tell the difference between Class AAA from Class B camping areas(we need 30 amp)? Is there a campground map of DeGray? I have the map of Petit Jean.
It looks like you reserve a specific site at both locations, since we've never been to either, can you help us with good site #s? Are there any sites we should NOT take in either of these parks? I prefer not looking into my neighbors window when sitting in our trailer so some space would be appreciated.
Thank you all in advance for the great advise we have always received from you all!!
Sincerely,

Glacier National Park in July
Hi Everyone,
We are planning a trip to Glacier. Due to distance from home, we will be going by plane/rental car.
We are having a difficult time deciding on accomodations. Does anyone know of a nice B&B in the area? We will be coming in the West side because of where the flight will drop us so are wondering if the first night on the west side and then go east the next day for the next few nights. How long is the drive from east to west? Do we need to drive back to the west side the night before our departure?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions. I hate the fly/drive combo but with working, time is short.
