Well, I am going to post this here since this is where most of you first saw my first post regarding back surgery. I had the surgery on Wednesday June 12, after what seemed like months of delay, and things did go well. JaneAnn said I was in surgery for over 5 hours and I did have a fusion of the L4/L5 vertebrae. The longest time spent was cleaning up all of the arthritic spurs that had grown between the vertebrae. The actual fusion was difficult because I have very strong, hard bones. He said he went through two drill bits and will have to be checked out for carpal tunal after drilling so hard. I got home on last Friday and have been doing rather well. The doctor thinks I am a rapid healer. I am still in quite a bit of pain but the pain pills are helping here. Thank you all for your support and prayers.
Michael and JaneAnn
I registered JaneAnn and myself for the Rally today. Sorry I was so late to do so and thanks to all who have inquired as to our status.
As most of you know, I have been struggling with stenosis in my back for about 6 or 7 years and am getting close to having to do the inevitable, back surgery. I have an appointment on April 16 at Mayo for final opinion and that will determine whether we can go or not.
Thank you all for your concern and here's hoping we can make the Rally. I will let you know for sure after April 16.
