Thanks for the input, everyone. We are going to pick it up in the morning. I can't wait to get a look at it. I don't recall seeing a tear in the slide topper, so I'll look for that. They said one of the gaskets was flattened, so I'll look for that. They also said that the sealant above both fridge vents needed to be scraped out and replaced. My husband just sealed both of those a month ago. In addition, they said that there was a gap in the gaskets at the top corner where the two meet.
I'll post again after we pick it up tomorrow to let y'all know if we can see anything that they talked about.
Update: After I told the guy that we wouldn't be able to do it right now because of the cost, he told me that he looked at the information more closely. He said that his tech factored in the cost of also replacing the gaskets on the passenger full wall slide even though we have no problems with that.
So, now the price is $2200. I just have a problem trusting these places. I think we're going to hold off for now and just go pick it up.
Got some bad news from Dixie RV this morning regarding our leak testing. If we go through with all repairs, it will be more then $5,000. We have had a small intermittent leak when the driver's side slide is closed. It appears around the inside corner of the slide and in front of the refrigerator. So, we brought it to get a leak test.
Apparently, some of the slide gaskets need to be replaced. They need to remove the slide to do that. The slide topper has a tear in it and they said that will need to be replaced because when they remove it, it will tear completely.
Is it normal to have the gaskets replaced on a 4y.o. RV? I'm sure Fleetwood wouldn't cover this, right?
We are shocked. I don't know why, but we are. We just spent over $5K on a driveway for the RV two weeks ago.
