RE: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Re-installed the dinette cushions. Earlier I took the covers off for a good washing & inspect the foam and only need to replace one foam piece. Should be an easy fix. Still thinking about a full replacement down the road.

RE: Time to say goodbye to the TC life for us!

Just sold our 2006 Arctic Fox 990 this past weekend. Seeing it drive away was one of those bittersweet experiences in life. This rv.net TC forum is, bar none, the best place to learn and gather information. I have truly enjoyed being a part of the TC family and will continue to monitor conversations and watch for exciting camping ideas. For the most part, I’ll be over on the toy hauler site from now on. Special thanks to the mods over here for all they do. Audios all! Enjoy your new adventure! It all works out in the end. :)

RE: My first trip report

Great pics! You have a nice set-up. Iron out the kinks and you're good to go. Send some walleye luck my way. My weekend was a bust!

scrolled the pics...Awesome!! Now to go back and read the story. Thanks for sharing! Great write up! Love the group photo & the leaning TC. Yikes! And the coyotes yipping in the background is a beautiful sound.

RE: Do you like your cabover bed?

I think it would be easier to access if it was on the floor like in a Class A & C. However if I have to have one in the overhead, I prefer the NS vs EW.

RE: Prices for a new roof.. Who knew?!

I read a quote from one place who's quote was for an aluminum roof. The other place for rubber roof, aluminum roof, and if Dak did/didn't help remove parts. What part of apples to apples are we missing?? I think if the quote was free then move on but if paid for which Dak did then good for him to speak up instead of rolling over and taking it. The first mistake may have been to pay for the estimate, however those cost may have saved the OP the hassle of bringing his rig to the shop. But it is apparent that the mobile guy has a different business model by electing to charge for estimates. It certainly gives the mobile guy more ability to give out higher priced estimates if he is being compensated for merely giving out prices. The next issue is mobile repair vs. taking it to a repair shop. The mobile guy is dependent on good weather, he has to get the job completed quickly vs. in an enclosed shop where time and weather are less of a factor. The shop has the flexibility to do the job at a more leisurely pace. The shop can work the roof job in with other work and does not have to dedicate all their efforts to completing the roof job due to weather etc. Lastly one estimate mentions a metal roof one does not? The devil is in the details. At the end of it all it's not clear or apparent to me that it is apples to apples. In order to compare pricing, everything should be 100% the same. Is it? I read he did have a quote from both companies for a metal roof. I see apples to apples. Doing the work inside vs outside is just part of the job. Does is matter if he gets his parts by truck or train? $1,200 from first company doing it all $2,775 from second company with dak helping $3,045 from second company doing it all

RE: TC vs TT Opinions

TC == Man Cave TT == Woman Cave Based on my signature block ... see who won? LOL!! Based on our household we are reversed but mama still won! :B I think you should also consider one of the newer Sprinter based class B's. I loved our TC, but a back injury and age made getting in a pain. I don't like the fifth wheel we have now at all, it has not moved in nearly two years. A class B is in our future. A Class B cost more than a small Class C (if cost is an issue) and now we've both just muddied the waters, LOL!

RE: Pacific Northwest Spring Rally. April 12, 13, 14, 2013

We are here finally. Stopped at Costco to get all the food items and a very nice 10x10 pop up canopy for over the table. Snoqualmie Falls Pancakes, sausages, eggs, coffee, in the morning. Of all Things to forget, I forgot my Coleman propane stove so I will have to cook on the TC stove. No biggie, there'll be a fire. See you in the morning starting at 8:00. Site 166. J&K Rise and Shine Jeff!! Pics please... :B Have a great time everyone!

RE: 6.0 chev...2500hd...Anyone haul TC ...??

I know I'm a little late to the party but I wanted to add my info to the group. We just bought our set-up over the winter/spring. I have a '00 Chevy 2500 6.0L 4x4 short bed that just hauled our Lance 165 for the first time out last week and did great!! I will upgrade the shocks to kyb or ranchos just because they're due but still up in the air about supersprings or stable loads.

RE: Our "newly used" 1988 Lance M780 now working on restoring

You'll be fine. There's a lot of folks here that can help answer your questions or send you in the right direction for info/parts. Good luck with the remodel and be sure to document with pics here on your thread. CONGRATS!!

RE: Removing Jacks

We removed ours. The truck had brackets at the front of the bed (like happijacs) that got in the way of swinging them in to lock down, so we took them off for now. Of course all my travel is close to home for now. They're heavier than I thought so I like getting rid of the weight.
