RE: Bought the wrong motorhome!!!

I have a 36 foot Southwind and would not go bigger. When I replace it I will be looking for a 32 to 34 foot MH Max. I travel with mine and found that smaller is better for getting in and out of gas stations, parking lots, and all other places I want to go. Could I manage a 38 footer? Yep, just don't want to or see a need to have something that large for just 2 people.
That's why MHs are made in so many sizes. Everyone has a different take on what size is right. There is no wrong or right answer.

BFGoodrich Tires

I will be replacing my tires in the next three weeks. I need 6 -
245/70R 19.5.
My local dealer give me a price of $2322.00 out the door. The tires are BF Goodrich ST230. Does anyone have any input on this particular tire?

RE: Anyone own a 2000 Fleetwood Storm? advice please

Have a 2000 model with the ford v10. It has plenty of power unless you want to do 75 mph uphill. As many people have stated, it is a high revving engine and you have to keep the rpm's up on hills. We are all use to driving cars and driving a MH is different.
If it looks good and the price is right buy it.

RE: Towpal saved my rear and Blue Ox comes through! So worth it!

I have my rear view camera set so that I can see my toad and several feet behind it. Both my DW and I keep an eye on it as we travel.

RE: Rand McNally RV GPS App

Yes I have the 4G with cell access. I checked and the app does not have any feedback or ratings. Am I looking in the wrong place? Is the app just like the standalone gps and which model? I might be able to look at the gps before buying the gps app.

Rand McNally RV GPS App

I have a mini IPad and found an App which is the Rand McNally RV GPS. Does anyone have any experience with this App? I'm not willing to spend $99.99 on something that I can see or test unless I get a bunch of positive answers. I noticed that the App has NO rating yet so it is either new or not any good. It is a 3.5 gig file, version 12.8 and copywrite 2012. thanks ...

RE: Thousand Trails

Been members for over 20 years ... love it. Some years it really pays, other years we may not use it as much. Overall, a great deal. Would do it again in a heart beat.

RE: Comming To Your Wallet Soon

All of the gas stations in my area now list cash and credit card prices for each blend of fuel. In some stations the difference is 10 cents per gal. The local Exxon will charge the cash fee if you have a Mobil or Exxon credit card.
For most banks, if you bring a large amount of cash for deposit, they charge a fee to handle cash. A small business gets charged either a credit card fee or a cash fee ... you can't get a break. Yes, these charges will be passed along to customers.

RE: From RV to non-RV travel?

When I'm done traveling and want to stay in one place for several months, then I might consider not having an RV. Right now I need my RV to travel to all the great places in this country. Many which have no hotels and rental cars.

RE: Questions about Hershey

X2 Dale.Traveling. Lots to see in that area of PA. The weather is usually great at that time of the year. There is a Thousand Trails location about 15 minutes away if you are a member. We went last year and loved it. Can't wait to go again.

RE: Mexico "Next Hot Market"

OK it sounds like people from Mexico and South America are coming to the US for jobs and the chance to live the American dream. Americans are moving south so that they can afford to retire. That should really change the face of the US.

RE: LED TV Viewing Angle

When I converted to a new TV, I got a heavy duty mounting bracket that moves from side to side and up and down. I can get the TV exactly where I need it depending where we are sitting. I place it up and against the wall and use a small cord to hold it place when I travel. The other advantage to the bracket is that I was able to install a larger TV and just have to move it a little to get into the overhead storage units. Works for me.

RE: What if

I carry bunge cords, wire, rope, duct tape, tools and have roadside assistance. I figure we can handle minor issues on the road. Bigger problems go to a service center. We pack our bags, jump in the toad and go site seeing. We return when the MH is fixed and then resume our trip. So far only minor problems that we were able to get around until we got home. I expect that someday I may experience a major (&expensive) repair. I'll deal with that if and when it happens. Remember "Life is too short to drink cheape wine".

RE: Just Pre ordered Garmin GPS

The problem with the Rand-McNally RVND 7720 is that it does not have live traffic alerts. My current Garmin does have traffic and has saved me from being in traffic several times. To get the both of both worlds, I am running two GPS units in the MH. When the 7720 gets live traffic, I will upgrade.
