RE: Cover or not to cover

We have a 2010 Crossroads Cruiser, the rubber roof rolls down the sides about 3 inchs. We have always covered our units (2). I no longer cover the Cruiser. purchased a new Adco cover for the winter of 2011, in the spring of 2012 unhcovered and found 4 cuts in the roof material, probably caused by cover movement. With a flat roof ng this probably would not have happened but since the material rolled down the side there was nothing to protect the roof material. No covering this RV again.

RE: Decaying decals

Thank you to all the members that have or will respond to this type of request for help. Mr. Buck Barker is not in Skip's shoes, he knows nothing about the situation, but yet he shared his opinion. I guess he knew nobody might have some new methods.

RE: Please Help Us- First time RVers and Pulling Our Hair Out

Hey Will, welcome to the group,it's real simple---find a floorplan, set a price level and go to the first available camper show in your are. then go to the dealers and start negotiating. Keep it simple and have some fun.

RE: 'Any quality issues with Rockwood/Flagstaff ?

Hi Chuck--- welcome to the crowd. Unfortunately quality in this product runs from poor too terrible, sorry. Take your time, identify the floor plan, length and weights. Then take a serious look at the abilities of your tow vehicle. Consider buying a pre-owned because they MIGHT have most problems alredy corrected. Now try and find a dealer with a good reputation for service.

RE: Bumpstops.....

Hi----I'm runing the exact same tow vehicle except it is a 2005.
It has pulled 2 different fivers, a 35+ft Jayco and a 34ft Cruiser. Both units had a hitch weight of under 2000lbs and both droped the back end 2 1/2", which is not criticle except at night, because it raises headlight angle and we enjoy traveling at night, less traffic. My choice was air bags which were about a two hour install. The bags also reduced chucking. Have fun and stay safe

RE: Short Bed Fiver Towing Anyone

My first 5er was pulled by a short bed pick-up. Most crew cabs are considered short bed. Moist 5ers built after 2008 can be pulled by a short bed and there is no need for a slider hitch. Prior years you may need a slider hitch in your truck. Have fun and stay safe

RE: Ordering a New 5vr....need advice

To be completly honest I don't think I would buy another NEW RV. With the extreme lack of quality I think I would let someone else handle the warranty trips to the dealer or manufacturer.I would look at something 1 to 3 years old, not to mention the extreme depreciation the first three years.

RE: A little bit of soap.

I think most rv-ers use some portion of the GEO method. I have dumped at the campgroind, flushed the black tank twice, closed the drain valve mixed up a solution of two gallons of water, calgon and detergent. This solution was emptied into a closed black tank and then driven home. I have access to a dump station near my home and out of curiosity I went and dumped again. After everything we did solid waste still was present in the tank.

RE: SuperGlide 18k hitch - standard bed pickup

The hitch will work in any long bed or short bed pickup box. I don't know what you mean by standard bed. If you are purchasing a older fifth wheel that does not have thew sculptured fromt cap you will need that hitch in a short bed pickup. Stay safe!

RE: 2012 Crossroads Cruiser 335SS

Just think for a second, what if you only had a one year warranty. It sounds to me that Crossroads has responded to you quite well. You say now they are sending a repair team to you, not asking you to take your unit to a dealer or the factory. What seems to be the problem, you did not say?

RE: How to Secure Superglide

After 8 years with not even a thought about securing it and this is the first time I've seen this subject even posted. I remember the first time we lifted it into the bed, it took four men and it has never been taken out. I do have a soft tonneau cover, but thats it.

RE: Post your GOOD service stories.....

Since my selling dealer went out of business, I have tried two other approved locations, the results were dismal. I now take the unit to the factory facility and have had excellant service. RV Dealers are only in the service business because there franchise agreement demands they do! Stay safe
