RE: OBX if that is what it is called??

Search "OBX" in the search function and I think you will find all the information you are looking for. We like ribs from Sooeys BBQ in Nags Head and Burgers from Top Dog Cafe right down the street from Camp Hatteras. Seafood catch your own and cook at your campsite or there are plenty of good places. Thinks not to missing are all 4 light houses, Jockey Ridge, Wright Brothers, Ocracoke, and the AWESOME FISHING. Go prepared for high winds and terrible bugs. If you can battle those two items you will love it.

RE: OBX Cape Hatteras KOA in late June?

Search YouTube and you will find two things...How well KOA is rebuilding...How bad the beach has taken a beating from waves...Amazing there are basically no dunes left at KOA and Camp Hatteras. PM me and I will send link of where the videos are located

RE: Hunting Island State Park SC cancellation

Do either of you know if you can pull in awning to ocean on that site with 35ft tt pulling with long truck or can you not get in with awning to ocean at that size?

RE: North Bend COE- VA

I was on C184 at North Bend week before last. Not too bad but if you have a really long trailer with full length street side slides it can be tricky to get perfect. We are 36ft TT and long bed truck and the way they did the entrance you have to be careful of rubbing the wood rails. Overall nice site though. We have site B114 for this weekend but watching weather to decide if worth going.

RE: Elkmont 35' Motorhome

You can use the map as mentioned above. We like the sites in D, E, and F the best. We take our 36ft TT in there without issues. Only concern would be front to back leveling on some sites. Some sites (not many) may slope front to back and my have to really drop or raise the front or back of the unit. Side to side level has never been a problem for us. Let me know the site # you are thinking and I will see if my videos have that site in it.

RE: Ocala National Forest, which campground

We like Silver River and Juniper Springs. Both great camping but Juniper no hookups. Both have great canoe/kayak water.

RE: Faver-Dykes S.P. Florida kayaking ?

We canoed west up to the I95 bridge. Could have gone further but ran out of time.

RE: Recommendations 3-4 hours from Raleigh

Consider going to see the Frescoe paintings, the Cheese Store, good BBQ in Sparta or the best place is Breakfast at Shatley Springs. If you just plan to relax there is plenty to do around the park there. Also, New River is good place for a canoe trip.

RE: OBX April 2 -14 Be Warned 90 mile Detour from Rocky Mount

The drive on 264 is very unique and if going you have to take the route I suggest go ahead and do it then coming back out us 64 to Rocky Mount if the bridge is back open. That way you get to see both routes. Just be prepared leaving Greenville/Washington area with full fuel and before lunch time so you can do it in the daylight. Nice country ride.

OBX April 2 -14 Be Warned 90 mile Detour from Rocky Mount

Heads up to anyone planning to use 64 east from Rocky Mount, NC to OBX during April 2 to 14. There will be a major bridge closed (Alligator River Bridge) and thus a 90 mile detour. Plan to use 264 instead. Be sure to fill up on Fuel before you get too far east it is pretty isolated out there.

RE: Recommendations 3-4 hours from Raleigh

Rocky Mount here. There is Kerr Lake with lots of choices. Near Richmond is a nice little park called Cozy Acres, good for just doing nothing and fishing in their ponds. The NPS campgrounds at OBX. Heading west in Marion, NC there is Mountain Stream RV park, or a little further north near Jefferson, NC is New River State Park, Raccoon Holler, and Stone Mountain Park (these three pretty close together) and all are nice get aways. North is Smith Mountain State Park near Roanoke VA and further north there is a few nice campgrounds near Lexington, VA on I-81, there is Natural Bridge, a nice KOA, Walnut Hills a bit further up, and Country Waye near Luray.

RE: Help us plan our trip! Update : looking for ocean stay help

Gsmnp....campground is elkmont...no hookups but gives you the best experience in my opinion. Tubing, ranger programs, hiking, etc in the campground

RE: A post with a number on it?

There is a new third angle becoming more popular. There are new drones (four blade copters) that are very reasonable priced, easy to fly, and have full photo and video capabilities. Be on the look out for overhead shots where there is enough clearance. I have seen some and they look really good.

RE: Faver-Dykes S.P. Florida Questions

SSHHHHH...keep this place a secret. We love it. When you arrive and you end up at a dead end it puts you on a single wide dirt road you begin to have 2nd thoughts, it is a long drive thru the woods. When you arrive a very nice small campgroud. It can be a little tight in there if you have a huge rig but we managed with a 32ft TT. Very well kept and we had our canoe and enjoyed the time on the water.

RE: Myrtle Beach eats

For burgers use River City Cafe in Murrells Inlet Update us on the construction at Lakewood when you return. We will be there for Easter and Memorial day so I can update after that as well. They should have phase 1 done by Memorial day.
