RE: Golf???

You'll eventually learn to hate it and swear off playing. But...you'll play again in a week or so and love it!

RE: Connect RV to 20a outlet

When mine was doing that, (tripping the 20A breaker), it was my powershare setting on my monitor panel. Changed from 30A to 20A on the monitor panel in the coach when plugged into 20A circuit, and the breaker hasn't tripped since.

RE: The Vines RV Resort??

I've been by it several times, and I can tell you I'd never stay there. It is so close to US101 that you could probably see the whites of the big rig drivers' eyes. Noisy would be an understatement. Also...now shade yet. Trees are just twigs. sdaniel said they have wine. They couldn't give me enough wine to make me stay there. JMHO

RE: Awning question what is too much wind

I roll it up when the wind is strong enough to rattle the awning hardware, the legs, rafters, etc. Also I usually roll it up at night before bed.

RE: Best way through San Francisco South to North.....

Well, you could just follow the signs for 101. No tolls. GG Bridge toll is southbound, so you're good.
It will be a little dicey going through the city, but with the right time of day and a whole lot of patience, you can do it. Hopefully you have a good GPS with updated maps.

RE: Ladder Manufacture

If you're looking for an external ladder for roof access, try Top-Line in SoCal.
Also, if you google RV ladders, you'll get a couple of other mfgs.

RE: Grand Canyon or Yellowstone???

If I were traveling with a 6 YO, I'd go to Yellowstone. The Grand Canyon is great, but there is LOTS MORE to see and do in Yellowstone. Something new around every corner, so to speak.

RE: Camping in the vicinity of USS Hornet

You might want to have a look at Anthony Chabot Regional Park. I've camped there and it's not bad. I believe there are 12 FHU sites. The rest are dry camping. I wrote a review of it in April 2009. The ratings are all over the map, but we all know that one man's junk can be another man's treasure. Here's a link to the site: Anthony Chabot
You might also consider Del Valle, near Livermore. Not close to Alameda, but doable with a toad.

RE: E450 Rear Brake Pad Replacement - long post w/pics

Excellent post. I'm probably going to have to do mine in another 20,000. 2004, same model as yours. Hope you love yours as much as we love ours!

RE: Best air valve extensions for use with simulators?

Ford or Chevy? Dually or Tire-Man? I have the Tire-Man extensions and love them. Takes 5 minutes or less to check all 6 tires.

RE: Class C and horse trailers/camping

I pull a two horse slant load with dressing room with our 24ft Minnie. Had the frame of the motorhome reinforced, and had WD hitch installed, as well as Brakesmart brake controller, (no longer made, too bad...it's a terrific controller. Also have one on my Expedition.) The trailer pulls so well, sometimes it's easy to forget that it's back there. Have never had a problem in the 4 years we've been doing it. However...I would never attempt to do it without making sure the rear frame of the motorhome is strong enough to handle the additional weight and torque placed on it. JMHO

RE: Hollywood, CA

In Ventura RV Park now. We go to Hollywood shows from here. Never gone that early. We leave at 10am and it usually takes us 1 hour.
Did you see that the OP needs to be there by 8:30?

RE: Reese Moving To Mexico

I contacted Cequent via "Contact Us" on their website and told them they should be ashamed for sending work out of the country and laying off 450 employees. I told them their action flies in the face of our economic recovery and that I would never buy one of their products again. BTW, the Reese hitches are not their only product. I think any company the outsources labor to other countries should have to pay a heavy penalty by way of increased import taxes for the products made out of the country. I hate buying anything with a made in China, etc. label. Come on people...buy US made products when at all possible. Sometimes you have to search a bit, but usually you can find them.

RE: What to do with bleach solution from sanitizing fresh system

In the San Francisco east bat area most of the storm drains have "plaques" that say "Drains to the Bay" or something very similar. I wouldn't hesitate to drain my sanitized fresh water tank in a storm drain, as the bleach is so diluted that it wouldn't have any ill effects on anything in the bay.

RE: Dish Network no Fox

This is the reason I left Dish and got Direct. Several years ago, there was a dispute between dish and CBS, so lost my CBS affiliate. Lasted long enough that I started checking to see if Direct had any history of this kind of dispute with networks or other pay tv providers, (HBO, etc.) and found that there wasn't any history of it. Been a happy Direct subscriber for 8 or 9 years now, and would never go back to Dish.

RE: Vehicles you could of bought, wished you did, but didn't

'64 GTO...tri-power, 4 speed coupe...wanted it, didn't buy it, and regret it to this day. My son has an El Caminos that he calls his drive-way ornament...he's going to fix it up...yeah...maybe I should buy it from him...

RE: Water Heater Question (vent has drip)

When the water heater is cold open and close the pressure relief valve a few times...that stopped mine. I was prepared to buy a new one, but tried that first and it worked.

RE: Rough Rider - SunSeeker

Original shocks are usually shot by 15000 to 20000 miles. Replace them with Bilsteins HD...they are great and you'll see a really huge improvement in the ride and handling. Also pay attention to tire pressures as others have mentioned.
