30 is an excellent road from Western Indiana to I 71. You only have a few miles around Ft. Wayne that are a slight challenge. Save a $$$$ of money and it is a shorter route for you.
All positive, no negative. Done it often.

RE: Jacksonville Fl to Toledo Ohio
From Columbus, 270 around Columbus on the East Side, Go North on 23, 15, to I 75. This is all 4 lane road and will save you at lest 75 miles. No reason to take I 70 to Dayton.
Another option is to take 33 off of I 270 to Wapakoneta, and then North on I75.
A Third option is to take 33 to 117, to I 75 in Lima.
All much better options that your I 70 to I 75.

Camp Creek State Park. Just off I77 in Southern West Virginia. It is a beautiful park about 2 miles from the interstate. Not a lot of activities except for nature at its finest.

Some construction In Columbus. I 70 to I 270 on the West side of Columbus to I 71. A few more miles but no construction and less traffic.

Renfro Valley is always good for an evening entertainment. High quality performs and always 1 big name Sat. night concert. Check them out on the internet.
South Fork National Park is another option.

Scenic Hills is a good campground for senior citizens. Must have full hookup. Nothing for children. We like the location and the owners very much.

Did not camp there, but drove by. Looks very nice. There is a casino about 10 mile West that has an OUTSTANDING campground. Good rates and a very well designed facility.

Suggestion on route. North from Decatur to Rt. 30 in Ft. Wayne. West on 30 to Indiana 49. This is just East of Valparaiso. Indiana. North to I 80, West to 294. You will miss all of the HEAVY Traffic by the Lakes Mall area. I 65 is OK, but 30 in between 49 and I 65 is a DISASTER!!!

Riverside is adding 142 sites that will be completed by Sept. They will have a new shower/restroom/laundry ready in Sept. Also adding cable to a large area of the park. They are adding to the big pavilion by fall. Swimming pool, etc. are planned for the future, but I do not expect any other completions by fall. I have never seen a winter tent camper. In fact, I don't think that there are many snowbirds that tent.
Bonnie (manager) and Karen (Assistant) are the best in the business. Maintenance is also outstanding.
Check Riversidesnowbirds.com to see and read about the winter activities. We have been there for 12 winters. This will be the first winter that they have not had a "wait list" of at least 50 campers. If you want in to Riverside, now is your chance. Tell them that "Big John" suggested that you call them for more information. Always good for a laugh!!!

I highly recommend Riverside Rv Resort. This is about 4 miles from Lettuce Lake. It is about 4 miles East of I 75 on the Peace River. We have stayed there for 12 years and plan to return this winter.
