RE: Denver to Telluride + Ouray - Best Route & RV Parks

Telluride is a VERY upscale, fancy place just for the 'Pretty people'. They don't catter to the RV 'crowd'. Don't even think of buying gas near there. $$$$ There is a wonderful state park at Ridgeway. A very nice RV park in Montrose called Cedar Creek. Several RV parks near Ouray...pronounced "YourWay".

RE: Chaco Canyon well worth the drive!

Exactly how rough is the road for a 34' Class'A'? Will it coat everything with dust, inside & out? What speed can I expect to travel on it?

RE: Best route to St. Joseph Is SP

If U'r in a hurry, I'd stay on I-10 all the way over to the Marianna exit & down Rt.73/71. Thats a bit farther tho. If not in a big hurry, I'd take I-10 & exit just past Pensacola, down 87 to 98 along the coast. Beautiful drive thru some, very picturesque, coast towns. Many beach access State parks along the way. Going thru Panama City is no big deal. Have plenty of Non-DEET bug spray with you at St Joe.

RE: 1995 28ft Georgie Boy, Chevy 454, P30 chassis

Do NOT get the 454 or the P30 chassis!!! I had one for 11 years. It was a DAILY fix somethin major EVERY trip. Things you WILL have problems with... 1. Exhaust manifold will crack every 6 months. Can't get it to accept gas at a station. The Starter solinoid WILL absorb heat from being located too close to the rite side exhaust manifold causing it to 'Freeze' up after stopping for a short time such as at a gas station. Must wait up to an hour for it to cool down. Distributor electronic modules must be replaced every 1000 miles. The rite side of chassis WILL be lower than the left. Must install rubber air bags to level. Brakes WILL be shot! 6 MPGallon. If it still equipped with the old Propane aux. fuel system, DO NOT TRY TO USE IT!!! Very real possibility of violent EXPLOSION/FIRE from the mufflers!!! HIGH rpm roar AT 55 MPH WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY! Exhaust 'Butterfly' valve at the rite side exhaust manifold WILL stick closed. Rear Wheel well housings are only thin plastic. A tire blowout will result in major damage to the coach!!!

RE: ReserveAmerica - time you make reservations FL State Park ?

We live in Miami, Fl & never have a great deal of trouble getting a reservation at the spur of the moment decision to 'Go Campin'. Our trick is to log into Reserve Am., pick a State park like Bahia Honda, leave the site open all day. Keep clicking/updating on it whenever I walk past the computer & check on any openings. Always get a site within 2 days of doing this. People are always cancelling/changing their reservations. U just gota be ready to jump on it when one opens up.

RE: Intermittent Onan Problem

I've had this problem. Weak transfer switch relay. On my 2006 National the transfer switch is just a multi-pin relay. Its located inside a gray metal electrical box about 6" x 6" x 3". I change it about every two years when this problem shows up.

Co. Rt.133/92 Carbondale to Delta ?

Hi again. Hows Rt.133 from Carbondale to Hotchkiss? Will be heading west, last week of June, on I-70 heading to Montrose in a 34' Class'A' gasser w/TOAD. Thinking the scenary may be better than going to Grand Junction and down Rt.50. :D

RE: Creede, CO

Creede is kind of a crummy looking place. I'd just take the RV on up to Lake City. There is a nice private RV park in town. The entire east side of the lake are County RV sites all along it. Pit toilets, no dump stations or water, but camp on the lake.

Denver, Co. traffic?

Hi all. We'll be heading west on I-70 in a 34' Class'A' pulling TOAD. Will be in Denver area about June 30. Should I just head thru Denver on I-70 or jump onto Rt.86/85, near Limon, and on up to the south Bypass(470)back up to I70 west? Heading to Glenwood Springs.
