RE: Annual Chassis Maintenance

I hate to pour it own with the other posters but this is insane! My 30K mile checkup was way less than 500 bucks at an authorized Cat and Spartan dealer. Keep looking and asking RV netters.

RE: Powergear Reservoir on 2002 Bounder

On my Fleetwood diesel it is located next to LP fill in the rear passenger side. There are two caps to check level. I just stick my finger in to check level.

RE: Electric Door Awning won't retract

I have the same awning which has failed to deploy. I hit the button, hear a click, but nothing happens. I assume the motor has failed but replacement sounds complicated as discussed here. Does motor replacement require getting involved with springs and gears. Don't want highjack thread but looking at all options.

RE: Need to hire a experienced class A motorhome driver

I would not do it for hire, but would consider helping you as long as your paying fuel expenses. I would drive my tow car to your location if you do not have a toad to haul. PM me if you still have need.
Somebody like this who is offering to do it for free is a good way to go. In the unlikely event this person gets into an accident then your insurance will cover you and their own insurance will cover them. It's when you start paying somebody to drive your rig that you have to make sure thay are properly licensed and covered by insurance that covers this type of operation.
If someone is doing it for free you also need to make sure they are properly licensed and insured. Liability is still there even with someone else driving. A free driver may work out but if I were in the OP's shoes I would be reluctant to hand the keys over to a free-bee.
So much for good samaritans! I can be a friend if I am needed with no insurance liabilities so long as we are both insured. I am thinking that this is a troll in any event.
By the way paying expenses only would be far from a freebie. My time is already paid for with my pensions.

RE: Itasca Reyo-Lichstinn RV Iowa

I am sure that they offer a factory delivery program where they do personal PID at factory although you purchase through local dealer which is important as you need repairs in the future. I know Fleetwood offers this service at a premium charge.

RE: I know it is early...but here's a winterization question...

I use the antifreeze system in MN with a valve place before the pump to suck in the solution. A couple of lessons learned are 1. remove water filter housing when completed. It will fill and freeze. 2.Use a hand pump to pump antifreeze into outside water inlet pre pump.

RE: Rear Furnace Wont Stay Lit

Look up the atwood furnace on line and the manual will offer a couple of causes for that fault. I have same issue which comes and goes. Ironically, when the heat pump calls for hear below 40 degrees, the furnace actually works fine.

RE: Class A to Florida from Minnesota

CCTV we also drive MSP to Tampa and go the suggested route through Chattanooga. You ask about campgrounds which is tough up north. We found a year round campground in Champaign one exit north of I 74 on I57. Could be very helpful to know in bad weather. We then stay near Fort Campbell at year round compground and summerize systems. Sorry don't have exact names of campgrounds but can easily find them on RVParkreviews.com. Overall I really do not care for RV'ing up north in winter!:E

RE: How do you open the engine compart of 2005 Excursion 39S?

like previously mentioned, you have to raise the bed on hinges and then disassemble the bed frame with the obvious lock systems. The big screw heads in the floor can be challenging without the right sized tools.

RE: Lake Couer D'Alene RV Park

Stayed at Blackwells twice this year. The first time I was in the circle up front. That is all paved. I stayed later on this year in the center on a gravel pullthru. It was not that dusty so maybe there was more rain. I did not notice the difference in fact other than the view.
Here is the view at night out the front window of the coach. I think there were about 5 units in the whole campground that week.

RE: Fleetwood Bankruptcy

Fleetwood RV actually began producing new RV's with 2011 models with a few modest changes. In 2012 they started upgrading many models with innovative designs, eliminated some overlaping models. There are very few 2010 models out due to limited production in bankruptcy. However, the new Fleetwood RV stood full warranty on ALL RV's still withintheir dealers and honored warranties on RV's still within original Fleetwood company. This is a first class takeover that knows the value of existing customers.
We have attended FW national rallies over past four years and have enjoyed seeing the contined commitment to design and quality. Hope it pays off for them.

RE: Direct TV vs. ?

We have had good service in RV from Direct but may drop them now Dish has pay as you go and HD. I am getting ripped off by Comcast at home since changing to Direct and I am tired of loosing sat in bad weather. Will probably go back to #$%% at Comcast at home.

RE: With Fleetwood out of business where do you buy OE parts?

Perhaps Giant RV is no longer a Fleetwod Dealer and that is why he no longer can get parts. Calling factory directly is the best route. Again Fleetwood RV is alive and well and doing a great job with a smaller dealer network.
Join the FMA (Fleetwood Motorhome Assoc) to stay in touch with the company and fellow owners. Great rallies and great service.
