RE: Syracuse Rally Messed Up

The first Redmond Or. rally was the same with a wet and muddy parking area in the fair grounds, and everyone I talked to that went was disappointed as you are now. the next ones they were prepared for the unforeseen and there was gravel hauled into that area and worked out great. Mother nature has spoken for now. Just be patient with the Rally planers and enjoy to the best of your ability. Use the busses.

RE: Bikes for trip to Yellowstone and Utah

There is noway that a THREE FOOT passing space is available in Yellowstone. Especially towing a trailer that 8' wide. Its bad enough with a person on the road side that has TO HAVE THAT SPECIAL PHOTO. And if a wild animal gets spooked, and charges, where are you going to GO on that bike? Think twice about the ride.

RE: Need suggestions! Please help if you can

Check the tire pressure on the rear tires on the truck. Put it at least 70lbs. This will also cause sway. And as stated light tounqe weight.

RE: Might have found that 100% American made truck

It has a strobe lite on top so the road service can find you.
International has had this model or type for a long time. Its just to obnoxious for me. just an attention getter.

RE: Revived Trailer Tire Thread (formerly on the 5th Wheel Forum

They are so particular about the application that a lot is lost in interpatation and diagnosis for the fault or failure. No common sense is ever applied when the government is involved.

RE: Bearing re-pack

Also measure the seal contact surface on the hub, to be sure. A couple .001" can an does make a differance.

RE: Add grease zerk to axle or not?

IF the zerks are missing install them to keep the water out.Close up the hole. If you use them its your choice. Moderation is the name of the game.

RE: 2000 Dodge Cummins with 3.55 gears

You have received some good suggestions here for your truck. Now an other one
When the trans goes shop for a good replacement. ATS,Goerond,Suncoast, like these rebuilders. The fuel system go to the Fass system to help save the injector pump. put on a fuel pressure Gage to monitor fuel pressure and 5#psi is bottom limit. Or you'll replace the injector pump. Something to think about with this engine. Have a good and safe experience with the new toy.

RE: Campground not giving out GS discounts

You can contact Good Sam directly and give them the information and they will check it out. They did and got back to me.
I did this on one in California, they did not give a discount unless you ask for it. I was the only one who got a discount out of my group of 5 rigs cause I ask for it. His excuse was, "why should I give if you don't ask for it" Its money in my pocket.

RE: No dash camera for me

The dash cam might help you to be a better and more cognizant driver. It has also helped to determine others accidents in front of you. If your kid was to take the car this would be a great teacher as to the kids faults in driving. As a parent I'd want to know the facts.

RE: CW does it again

Print the internet deal and take it to the store, and see if they will honor the price. I do this all the time to Harbor freight, and they honor the internet price. Its worth the the try.
You might also sign up on the CW web site and enjoy the E-sales, Thursday through Sunday. Great prices on most items, in store.

RE: Need advice on toy hauler swaying on freeway

Short wheel base on the truck with a poor weight on the tongue, will drive you nuts like you have experienced. If you think this is bad with this truck, waite till you load the toys. Was the 3/4 ton a long base truck?
Jeeps were notorious for this kind of ride, short wheel base.

RE: Atwood water heater question.

I'd check it at the pop off for the true temp. just be careful getting it, ware a glove and don't splash.
You didn't say the size of your water heater. Atwood told me 145-155 was a average temp for the one I have and its a 10 gal. It does take a while to heat.

RE: Biodiesel fuel vs Diesel # 2

These question arise when the owner does not read his owners manual. Recommended in every case. Its recommended to get on the diesel forums and read the discussions on the various fuels and what works and what does not. Also other problems that might come up that your not aware of.
Right now on the TDR, a guy is working on his 2012 Ram 6.7 and installing a CNG system to use with diesel fuel. Interesting read.
Thanks for the reminder to read the owners manual. In this case i started with the owners manual and there was reference to anything to do with BIODIESEL.:(
I take it you meant to say "NO" reference to bio? I don't have your book so I cannot reference it. Just quoting what Cummins says. But thats for asking.
Anyway 5% is recommended maximum amount at this time.
Cummins also said it was OK to run a gallon of used Dino motor oil with a full tank of fuel diluted, in the older engines. But later they retracted that statement and recommended against it. Some had problems some did not. So they do change what they say periodically
