RE: Jayco Jayflight 264Bh - Anode Rod

Hi,
So finally my water heater is an Atwood...so no anode rod. So will this reduce the life of my heater (as i plan to keep this TT for a long time)? Also is it possible to add one?
Thank you,
Martin
You will find many posts on this subject on the forum. Do not add an anode rod to this unit. The Atwood unit has an aluminum tank and does not need one. If you add one you run the risk of causing a reaction between the metal in the tank and on the screw in for the anode rod. The unit should last you many many years if you drain it regularly and keep the sediments from building up. I have had both the Atwood (no anode) and Suburban (with anode) and no problems with either.

RE: Driving with the frige on?

Always travel with it on. Just make sure to shut it off when you refuel your rig.

RE: How long can you boondock?

We have been able to go up to 5 days and that is with me the wife and 3 kids. We have 2 6-Volt batteries and they do great.

RE: Bathroom walls

I would use FRP panel or a tub surround kit. Available at Home Depot or Lowes.
x2
FRP Easy to cut and install. Just did a residential bathroom with this and works great.

RE: Rear suspension support for 2010 Dodge Ram 1500

I would first look into a good weight distribution kit. This will push some of the weight onto the front tires of the truck and help even out the ride. If this does not help then maybe looking at how heavy the TT is and then into airbags or timbrens.

RE: What have you done to silence your water pump?

I replaced the Pex line between the pump and the main water line with a flexible line and that seemed to help.
X2
We also added padding under the pump. Ours improved 100%. It still makes some noise, but we don't want all the noise gone because if we spring a leak it would be to late if the pump made no noticeable noise.

RE: Confusion about hitches

I also tow with a dually, Chevy c3500, and I am well within my towing limits. I use the WD mainly for tongue weight. I also use anti sway bars for piece of mind.

RE: Towing with a conversion van?

We also have a conversion van and we do tow with it, but only small light weight stuff. In our van, after the conversion there was a new weight sticker stuck on it in on the back doors. Our is a 2000 Dodge 1500 van and the new modified weight tells us we can tow no more then 5000 lbs. We have towed a popup and 4 wheeler and a small 25 foot TT that weighed no more then 4500 when loaded. Good luck and hope you find your answer.

The best way to hang pictures

I have some pictures I would like to hang, but what is the easiest way to hang them and keep them from falling off while going down the road?

THIS LINK might be helpful. It sounds like use a good primer and then paint. Read through it. Good info on what you want to do.

RE: Newbie considering a Travel Trailer

My TT has a receiver on the back. I use it all the time to tow my little 8 foot trailer with my wheeler on it. When I am towing it I will not go any faster then 65. As far as the framing on the back of the TT, I would look into getting it beefed up a bit and make sure to mount the receiver to the frame and not the bumper. The bumper
may/will fall off.
2004 without brakes sounds fishy to me. Especially being a 24 footer.
Good luck with it all.

Is KIT still in business?

We have a KIT Road Ranger and I would like to find out if KIT is still in business. I would like to find out if I can get some diagrams for our unit. Does anyone know if they are still around?
