RE: 2013 vs 2014 voltage

True, I was looking and I just couldnt see any changes that I couldnt live without. I will not be flipping through trailers, we will have it for a long time! Call me crazy, but that seems like a good way to lose money! BTW, Y-Guy, I am from Kennewick, just moved to idaho :). I have been seeing some very good deals on the '13s, I am not picky about color choices (I dont really like the black leather, but other than that...lol) so as long as we can find one on the ground in the Epic package we want, I think thats prob the direction we will go. Our friends are gonna order one from the factory cuz she is not finding what she wants, but the Camping World lady told us it could be 2 months to get it back...ugh. I am really looking forward to getting out, I dont want to wait 2 months lol There is some awesome camping in Idaho, especially Central Idaho. The Sawtooth Mnts are incredible and right out your back door. With more Gov. owned land than any other State, you have access to some pristine wilderness.

RE: 2013 vs 2014 voltage

Buying a 14' now gives you a full year without a deduct in value based on the year. Not really, the minute you roll off the lot it's dropped in value. If you wanted to sell it back to the dealer you won't get what you paid for it, it's now a used 2014. First couple years of ownership is when depreciation hurts the most. I recognize that. However 3 years from now they will be selling a 4 year old trailer. That means 2-4 K reduction in trade or resale value from a 13 to a 14. That's when you pay back the good deal you got when you bought the year old model. If you keep the trailer for a number of years that becomes less significant.

RE: 2013 vs 2014 voltage

You would have to research the changes, if any, that were made from 13'-14' and decide if paying more for the 14' is worth it. Somethings to think about, buying a 13' now means your buying a year old RV regardless of whether its new or not. You will feel that when you trade or sell out right this trailer. Buying a 14' now gives you a full year without a deduct in value based on the year. Don't assume that all options that were on the 13' version will be on the 14'. I just sold a 2010 Fuzion and bought a 2013 Fuzion. There were some things on the 2010 that I liked that are not on the 13' such as onboard air compressor, two door dovetail, retractable power cord in garage and so on. So don't assume that if the 13 has some particular options you like that the 14 will have all of the those plus some new features, doesn't always work like that. Overall if you plan on keeping this trailer for a long time, I don't think the year matters much, assuming all the features are equal. If you plan on flipping it every couple years, than buying a year old trailer becomes more of an issue.

RE: 2003 duramax questions

The 03 was good year. It gave you the updated interior, LB7 which is easy to massage electronically for more power if your so inclined. The only downside is the injectors are harder to get at if that's needed (as are all LB7's). I had an 03 and put just under 100K on it and never had an issue with anything. Great mileage, decent power (I left it stock).

RE: GMs new secret weapon......LOL

And here I was hoping from the title of the thread that the OP had acquired his CWFL and bought a nice Sig 938 Nightmare for his pocket. I am waiting for the SAS model to show up here locally.

RE: Supplies for your Toy Hauler/Trailer

I keep two bottle jacks in the dove tail along with a cheap tool set from Harbor Freight, including all tools needed to change a tire. I keep a fuel filter, air filter, oil, funnel for the Onan Gen. Gorilla glue, two rolls of Gorilla duck tape, a Military E tool which is very handy, extension cord, Dewalt cordless sawzall. Numerous legos to level trailer as well as drive up leveling ramps. We got an SD card that goes in our Garmin, that shows ownership of lands be it private, state, BLM, FS and so in, extremely valuable.

RE: GMs new secret weapon......LOL

Don Back in the day if you needed to dig a ditch you hired a bunch of guys and passed out shovels. These days any John Q Public can run down to his local Rent All and tote home a Ditch Witch and do it by himself in a fraction of the time. However, excavation should be left to professionals. Support your local excavator!

RE: Extended cab vs crewcab

I have owned both (GM products). Just for the record on the CC backseat. I much prefer the fold down seats of the 800 verse the fold up back seat in the 900 series trucks. I am hoping the next gen goes back to the fold down. One of my first gripes going from an 02 to my current 2012. You can't store anything behind the back seat... Unfortunately the new trucks will still be fold up from what I have seen on the new 1/2 tons. Did you really go from a D/A to the 6.0? I just went the other way and couldn't imagine going back. I got the 6.0 in addition to the D/As. I needed something to runaround in and pull a decent load if needed and I didn't want to spend 50K on a diesel. It seemed silly to continue to put nontowing miles on my duramax trucks. That's a bummer on the back seat. Maybe the increase in backseat dimensions will help somewhat.

RE: GMs new secret weapon......LOL

In case you didn't know, buick in china is like bmw here. They really like the buicks. Guess the quality must be pretty good and they are a change from the cookie cutter cars found there. It is the case. Buick is very popular in China. It is a car with great status in China and from what I understand this Chinese view of Buick goes back many decades. One of our vehicles is a 2007 Buick sedan, bought new in 2007 and I have to say after living with it since then I've changed my mind about Buick's. I got past the old man's car stereotype after a year or so and I find it to be an excellent automobile. Very quiet, comfortable, capable, reliable and not at all a big, wallowing land barge as many (including me before I bought it :B) seem to think it is. I have found the quality to be excellent. I originally bought my Buick because I'm a little on the large size at 6'3" + and 245 lbs with bad hockey knees. I need to drive with my right leg pretty well stretched out and at the time a Buick sedan was about the only car with enough leg room and a firm, supportive seat which would comfortably accommodate me. If you told me that 10 years before I'd be driving a Buick sedan....I would of been surprised. But I'm glad I made the choice. Not to turn this into a Buick thread, but my wife is upper 30's and I am low 40's and we own a Buick. It came time to replace our Impala SS and my wife liked the loaded Buick Lacrosse AWD. I actually was pulling for a Camaro but no dice. Since I don't drive her car much my vote did not count and 18 months later, she still loves the car. Its easy to see why the Buick is becoming more popular, it does a lot of things right. Very comfortable to drive, nice high end touches without being over the top like Cadillac. I think the only thing holding the car back in the USA is the notion that only old people drive a Buick.

RE: Extended cab vs crewcab

I have owned both (GM products). The CC without a doubt has a much better resale than the extra cab. The extra room is a bonus. When I bought my 2012 2500HD I considered extra cab as its mostly a work vehicle and I wanted to keep the price down. I ran the numbers, both purchase and expected resale value. The CC pays its own way at the end of ownership. Just for the record on the CC backseat. I much prefer the fold down seats of the 800 verse the fold up back seat in the 900 series trucks. I am hoping the next gen goes back to the fold down.

RE: First tow with 06 LBZ

I have a combined weight of 26K and have never seen double digit mpg. We run about a 200 mile radius max but its up hill in every direction which is where the LBZ shines.

How do you like your Spyder? Dam those things are cool! I searched their website the other day. Which model do you have?

RE: 2006 Chevy Duramax/Allison Question?

I have an 06 3500 CC DRW 4X4. I have had the computer remapped. I have a combined gross of 25K (or perhaps a little more now as my 342 is heavier than my 322 was). I get 8-9 mpg pulling at 65 mpg. Empty I get 16.5 pretty steady. I recently had the pickup programmed to use the VVT for grade braking. I think anyone that has one of these pickups should consider doing the same. Works when tow/haul is engaged.

RE: BlowMax Tires

I'd found out what the warranty is on the OEM tires. Id also keep a log & If you start seeing premature wear I'd call them & see if you can get a credit towards new tires. I did this with my first Raptor and was able to get ~75% covered towards upgraded Maxxis (15" wheels). Also as mentioned look underneath your rims should be stamped with info on it. That's what I did as well. I pulled the trailer home last month and right to the tire shop. I traded the OEM ST's for Hankook LT's price with trade was $340. Well worth it in my opinion.

RE: New truck - new hitch.

RickSo showed a very nice product for dually's. I had similar on a previous vehicle, and they really worked great for reaching the hitch for hook up and unhooking. Mine were made by WAAG, which I believe are no longer available. They were called their wheel to wheel kick out bars for duallys. Not sure, but I believe the ones in photo by RickSo are still available through Putco; if Putco, they also sold a stainless version. More expensive yes, but gosh, never any rusting or maintenance. I also have the WAAG brand kick outs. I Rhino lined mine. I love those bars. I did not know that WAAG was not around anymore.

RE: Dually Tires

I would stick with the 235/85/16. I put a set of spacers between the duals on my 3500. The 235's give you a wider footprint, and more ground clearance. I run the Kelly TSR's. It's a more aggressive tire. Perfect for what I use the truck for. I have also had good luck out of Hankook ATM's, which is a less aggressive tire.

RE: IS any one listening???

A couple years ago I sent a letter to Keystone offering some suggestions, they were centered around the needs of those who camped in the Mountain West especially. Some of those suggestions were a much larger heater with more effective venting of that heat. Dual deep cell batteries from the factory, heavy duty LT tires, more ground clearance under the trailer, steel roller wheels on the back, more effective insulation, dual pane windows, and so on. I even named it for the them. The Fuzion Mountain Edition.

RE: Fuel gauge on Raptor TH not working

Had a similar problem, the wires on the gauge itself were hooked up backwards on a Desert Fox that we have. Just pulled the gauge and switch out from the trailer to fix it.

RE: Chevy 6L mileage

2012 3.73 4X4 CCSB with larger 18" tires and I get 15-16 best case on the highway. Like mentioned, wind, elevation, and speed play a much bigger role than I am used to with a Duramax. However I still really like this pickup.
