RE: Pin Box Shock Supressor

Jim and Barb If you were asking about airborne being the air style the Mor/Ryde is not that. Hard to beat any air product. Good luck on your choice. chevman

RE: dual pane windows & weight

Kinda sure the weight was 120 lbs for our 2001 alpenlite. Very good option for us. One reason for not buying from an rv lot is the units will not have some great options because of price and to compete with other dealers down the street. chevman

RE: 2013 RAM HDs driven/tested

I guess since we will never hook up to 28000 lbs it really doesn't mean that much. Not needing anymore power to do what we need to do now. Most rv'rs are not that great of drivers . Not that rv's are the only use for a powerful truck . chevman

RE: 2013 RAM HDs driven/tested

Might use the search feature for the J2807 elk. Been discussed many times here and all I can say is yes for unified standards, but in the real world it ain't going to happen without some kind of government mandate. Too many advertising dollars at stake. Just wait, that same Ford 2014 MY will be rated to tow more than the Ram in the 2015 MY with very little changes. I'm for something like J2807 for Joe Public, but I don't see anything other than Howie Long, and Michael Gregory "Mike" Rowe telling us what they are told to tell us, a line of BS. maybe Sam Elliot should be included as long as you missed his name on purpose. You are welcome as I always try to help:B

RE: 2013 RAM HDs driven/tested

..Larry, didn't mean that "who cares" in a smart aleck way...it's just never done anything for me one way or the other and I owned Chevy's that won those contest....My idea of a great truck, be it Chevy/GM, Ford or Dodge/Ram is that it's reliable, looks good and does the job that I want it to do..don't care if it's the fastest, has the most HP or TQ, most GVWR, GCWR and on...honest, it doesn't matter to me, if that had been the case, I wouldn't have purchased the 2010 or the 12 Ram, because the Ram placed last in those test.... So again, I wasn't trying to be smart mouthed about it, I guess I should have worded it that "I" don't care because I know some do. I apologize if I came off in the wrong tone, wasn't trying to... and, I guess I really didn't need the new truck, but I didn't need a new kitchen either... guess we're all different in what we want or need or buy or like, guess what I do probably seems stupid to you and a lot of others on here, guess it's who I am, but as long as I and my family are happy, guess that's all that matters...sorry to have offended.... I was not offended at all so don't worry about me. I like tires that go around with a trannie and an engine. Always have. Really I think nobody cares what you do but it fun to make ya think that. You work you spend and that used to be the American way of life once. Chevman

RE: 2013 RAM HDs driven/tested

I do notice the ovals and ties have been silent lately, well until Larry showed up :B Where are these guys :H They usuallly show in big numbers on a Ram thread. to the nc hauler also. Just a question to ask who cares. Nobody cared on the early test including me so just wondering. That Ram should be a fine truck. Not a hater from this computer just like to know everything. I am just happy to not need anything new. Well maybe the new kitchen we are doing is a new thing. chevman

RE: Looking to buy my first duramax.

LOWSU You just said what I have done many times. I got a kick out of seeing how the seller lives and cares for his home, cars etc . This has been a good method for the used cars and trucks we have purchased since 1960. chevman

RE: opinions on after market holding tank monitoring system

I installed the See Level tank monitors as part of our remodel. Love 'em. Never regretted the decision. If you're planning on keeping your rig for a while, it's probably worth it. I DO have one issue with them. When it's super wet outside - rainy, snowy, what have you - I can get erroneous readings on the grey and black tanks. They hang under our class B and are exposed to the elements. Once they dry out, they go back to working just fine. Thanks for responding. I am ordering them on line today. This is what I wanted to hear. I thought there might be another brand but it sounds like these are the ones to get as I heard the same thing on another forum. tvfireman did you have any problems with the style you had on the alpenlite. We have not had a problem. I agree when we buy something we like it to work. Sorry for bummer new rv. chevman

RE: Water in Fuel

I had had the water in fuel since a fill up at a FJ. Could never find any water. Decided the FJ wasn't the problem. Water in fuel was coming on in the dash but not all of the time so finally after a couple of years I installed a new water sensor. no change on the outcome. coming home from the winter in AZ the water in fuel was a steady display so before the last day on the trip I disconnected the water sensor's wire. No change so it is in the wiring for our 05 truck. Just for information we have an in bed fuel tank and fill up at different stations. Inbed was were it started so I drained some fuel more than 2 times and NO water. I have drained the water filter many times and No water has showed. Water in diesel is very easy to see. I will address my problem later this summer. chevman

RE: True invoice

I asked Dave Smith for a price of a 3500 chev in 2001. $400.00 was all they could save me. didn't think it was worth that small price to go after it but some had told me they saved $5000.00 using Dave Smith. chevman

RE: Rotating tires on a dually

I used all tires when I rotated our 2001 dually. One tire at a time because of using the spare. I never did the job again because the tires didn't show a problem. Now with the Michelin tires we bought in 2011 I have had the dealer rotate and will again soon. I don't like old tires and one reason for not wanting to rotate . Free is why for this set of tires. chevman

RE: The continuing Saga waiting for my new Ram 3500

NC Hauler I hope you can live with it so you don't have to go though the" do I buy another new truck again" for the 2014 year coming soon. New rumor is the 2014 will have a V-8 engine and 1000 ft lbs of torque with 2 big cranks holding it down to the ground on take off. Of course this is just a rumor. Enjoy the newest truck. chevman

RE: Need some maintenance advice

We had a 32 ft alfa fifthwheel and this story came in for changing a tire. I made up a similar product as the trailer aid. In my driveway I tested it and all it did was JAM the tire up into the wheel well and nothing for the tire I would be changing. It did not look like a good thing so I never bought the trailer aid. So when a fella tells me they work I wonder if they really used theirs. Please come back if you have. I like to know everything. It could be that my experience's doesn't always match others chevman
