RE: My latest DooDad

I'm interested in the single blast cleaning the toilet. That must rinse down the whole shebang too. Does the wall paper dry quickly?
ignore. Dumb thought for a minute
Ha!!! Forgiven. :)

RE: My latest DooDad

talk about raining on a parade!
I thought the same thing.
However, I’ve learned that not everyone is going to agree or like what someone has posted on a forum. When I post my pictures or comments, my hope is that it can help at least one person. And if it does, then to me the post was worth it.
One should remember that just because you may not like a particular mod (based on how you use your RV), someone else may like it (based on how they use their RV).
We rarely boondock so water usage is not an issue for us. And I personally think it would be gross to have to touch a Squirt Bottle that has been on the side of the toilet. ;)
If you read his post the first thing he says is "I like yours" :Z:h:S
Maybe if you read the post you will see that it says "Glade you like yours.". :S
No where does he say "I like yours". :R
Geez!! I never thought posting a couple of pics my modification would bring out the worst in some people. :h

My latest DooDad

I finally added a rinse hose to the RV toilet. It works Great!!!
I tied into the existing Pex plumbing using a Pex Valve, washing machine hose, spray nozzle & miscellaneous fittings.
As an added bonus, I now have water pressure to help in rinsing out the Black Tank when needed.

RE: Load “D” to Load “E” MPG Increase?

Johnrbd, thanks for your safety concern. But if you re-read my original question it says, “To those of you, who have upgraded your trailer tires & RIMS from a Load “D” to a Load “E”, did your mpg increase?
Just trying to stay on topic. :B

RE: Load “D” to Load “E” MPG Increase?

Well darn!
My little pea brain was thinking that due to the increased air pressure (65 psi to 80 psi), it would make the tire less flat on the bottom and therefore there would be LESS resistance and an increase in mpg.
In response to some of the comments, I’m not increasing the tire size. I’m only increasing the Load Range.
FWIW, I have a fuel meter on my truck so next week I should be able to report what my calculations are.
Thanks!

Load “D” to Load “E” MPG Increase?

To those of you, who have upgraded your trailer tires (& rims) from a Load “D” to a Load “E”, did your mpg increase? I’m upgrading today and it sure would be nice to see some improvement.

RE: Levelling with Scissor Jacks

Here’s some food for thought:
Why is it that some people think you shouldn’t lift a trailer with scissor jacks because it may twist or damage the frame (even if the jacks are EVENLY distributed).
But it’s ok for the trailer to BOUNCE all over the highway and the weight is distributed on just a couple of axles. :h
If someone’s frame is that delicate, maybe they should be looking for another trailer.
Just saying. ;)

RE: Goodyear marathon tires, any good?

I recommend upgrading to Maxxis M8008 ST 225/75-15 Load "E".
Its more expensive, but can it handle more weight than the Load "D".
Maxxis seems to be the tire of choice by many folks.

RE: Homemade Stabilizer Blocks

Great idea ! Thanks for the share !!
I wonder though, how often do you get sites that have soft soil ? I am thinking that if you lay your boards flat, you could crack them at the cut-out.
I've only camped where there is concrete, so soft soil isn't an issue for me.
These blocks are designed to be used in the vertical position.
If used in soft soil, I do recommend putting a flat board under them.
I primarly use them for unlevel sites when the stabilizer's won't reach or barely reach the ground.

Homemade Stabilizer Blocks

The pictures below show how I made blocks for my stabilizer jacks. I used a 2" x 10" x 10 feet long board which was enough for all four jacks. I no longer carry cinder blocks. I'm to cheap to buy the orange commercial stuff. Its light and takes up very little room.
