RE: OK Vehicle Sales Tax
I was able to finally get through to the OK DMV. In Oklahoma there is no sales tax on the purchase of new vehicles ( I didn't ask about used). You pay an excise tax when registering. In my case I will not be registering in OK, but in SD so I will pay a 3% excise tax there.

OK Vehicle Sales Tax
When I purchased my last TV in Oklahoma there was no sales tax on vehicles (2006). I was surprised to find that out. I would like to know if that is still the case. I am planning on purchasing a new car, and would ultimately be paying a 3% excise tax in SD when I register it there. I would prefer not to add an extra sales tax on top of that. We will be passing through OK this fall so I could pick up then.
