RE: Took a great road out of yosemite

Golden HVAC We were in San Francisco headed to Groveland, couldn't see any other way to get to Groveland other than 120, without going miles out of our way. Heading to Sequoia 132 was good I guess if we had stayed in Yosemite itself, we could of taken 41 out. But the route we took was good one

Took a great road out of yosemite

OK folks, just a little update. I was so paranoid about taking priest grade. It wasn't too bad. I guess going through Bighorn gave us practice. Anyway didn't want to go back down priestgrade(Route 120) Remembered someone mentioned Greely Hill & Coulterville. So we took 132 to 59 to 99. Piece of cake. Can't remember who mentioned Coulterville, but if you read this a BIG THANK YOU

Traveling Montana

Our road trip has us now in Montana. In awe of all these mountains. I've been singing Rocky Mountain High (don't know if these are part of rockies). Anyone have a suggestion for a song appropriate to Montana. Just to let you know, went through Big Horn. Very twisty and over 8,ooo elevation; so priest grade here we come. Feel a little better about it. Still can't look down. Even on Going to the sun with a bus driver. Must have something to do with my vertigo

RE: Best way out of Yosemite, HELP!

Movin' on How big was your rig? We're about to make the same trip. AAA Has a going 49, which someone posted has a bad swithback. But coming from San Francisco, I can't see any other way to Groveland, where we're stayong.

RE: Tires on internet

Well got our maxxis from discount tires direct. No shipping cost and they shipped them to our local tire store to be mounted. They were 7 months old and they also sent high pressure stems.

RE: How long can black & grey tanks (1/3 full) stand

We always dump , add chemicals and water to tanks, but stopping at 2 walmarts prior to home made it easier then stopping at more campgrounds. I'm sure this will sound strange for most of you, but in 5 yrs of camping we never poop de dooped in our bathroom. Always use facility bathrooms for that. Have a medical reason why. Anyway made a reservation at a campground for our last stop before home so we can dump. Actually called a flying J and the campground, senior, florida resident rate was the same.

RE: How long can black & grey tanks (1/3 full) stand

Didn't know campgrounds allow you to dump for a fee if not staying. Is that true of state parks?

RE: Open Range 5th wheel

This will sound contadictory, but we've had many major issues with ours, but I still love it. We have the 32' 5er and I like the room and storage space and counter space than other brands. We do have a rear kitchen so we have alot of counter. I guess the 2 year warranty was a lifesaver for us. Although the inconvenience of in and out of shops was a pain. Now that our 2 yr warranty is up, awning issue. Well I guess somebody has to get the lemon!

How long can black & grey tanks (1/3 full) stand

We will be ending our 3 month trip. Our last 2 stops can be (Hotel Walmart) LOL. Anyway tanks will probably be about a third full and we have to put our 5er in storage. We will go out again 3 weeks later, to a campground with sewer hookup. So will leaving the tanks not emptied in 80 some degree weather, in storage, start to stink or be an issue?

RE: Does ANYONE have any kind of RV or camping device

Gee, seems we've had our share of problems. Our TT had leak at slide right after the one year warranty. One year later we traded up to a fifth wheel. Lucky it had 2 yr warranty. First year leak in one of the wards. Then front door had leak. Then water under bench, which took forever to find. Actually I think it miraculously stopped. Anyway now 2yr warranty done and 4 months later electric awning wouldn't retract while camping. Hope we're done for awhile.

Is online banking safe

Planning a trip cross country. Is online banking safe through WiFi. Is that how you would do it. It seems when researching campgrounds, through reviews, in many campgrounds the Wi Fi is poor, or it cost extra. Most of the campgrounds we're going to stay at are private not national. Also I'm not a fan of going to their office or store to get Wi Fi. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you

Do you make reservations?

Just curious. How many of you make reservations at campgrounds ahead of time for a multiple state trip, or how many just head out and call while on the road to see if their are any available campsites.
