RE: Maine Seacoast Sights

Acadia: Bar Harbor KOA Woodside. Get a place out back in the grassy asea. Bring DVDs as TV is minimal.
Mid-coast: Saltwater Farm in Thomaston. Great location for visiting Camden, Rockland, Owl'S Head, and lots of little places.
Red's Eats in Wiscasset: decent food, but a horror if you're towing anything. No place to park except along the river and you won't find your way there on your first visit. Better to stay at Chewonki CG just south of town and see the town properly. Two great historic homes in town to visit.
Forget Old Orchard unless you like crowded, noisy CGs. Beach is good, but the rest of it is like a carnival.
Don't go to Ogunquit driving anything bigger than a Vespa. Nice town but a traffic nightmare.
Fred.
Last year there was a vacant building north of the bridge with parking on rte 1, the walk across the bridge to Reds, seems to me the food is better than decent

RE: Off the beaten path to do/see in ME - Acadia

go out to Hadley Point and watch the sunset
Not being a smart ass just trying to understand how to watch sunset in Maine?
As the name says Hadleys Point is a peninsula on Mt Desert Island the sun sets across a bay and behind some Mountains. Quite stunning some nights.

RE: savannah area campgrounds

Last year we stayed at Hardeeville RV, 3090 S. Okatie Highway – Hwy 315, Hardeeville, SC for a few days to take in Savannah. It is a no frills park but it is safe, they have level pull-thrus and FHU's. They are minutes from Savannah and they are a Passport America 50% Park.

RE: Key west ?

Geiger key marina and RV if they have room. Small park and renovated the last two years. Right on the water ( great views ) and the Geiger Key Smokehouse restraurant a short walk away. Great food and the best conch chowder you can get. Talk to Clay the mgr and tell him Tom and Bonnie told you about this little gem. It's at mm9.5 so it's is close to Key West. Good luck
Tom
X2 been going the last 5 years not plush like Bluewater. Always a friendly group, real cozy. Try Mangrove Mamas around mm20 good food

RE: Wells Beach Resort

Have stayed there several times. Great location, very good facilities, well maintained. Expensive, but so is just about anything of any quality in the area. Have never stayed at Ocean View West, but have heard good things. The original Ocean View is nothing to rave about.
This is a great area to visit - if you eat out, give the Maine Diner a try. A great experience with great food.

RE: Radiator replacement for DP

My plastic crimp radiator went bad at 30K My CAT dealer had a brass & copper one built and installed $2500. The reason for the plastic tank is cost only, non repairable piece of crap.
