RE: How do I maximize MPG? from miles per hour

I left Southeast Texas on Friday for Wyoming and followed much of the advice given on this post. On three tanks I have done 10, 10.5, and ll.15. Basically 50 MPH, no cruise control, with the exception of flat land...I NEVER thought I would get such mileage...THANK YOU! Right now I'm in Valentine, Bebraska and will arrive in Wyoming in the morning.
THANK YOU so much for such sage advice! Have a GREAT week-end!!!

Where to buy propane on this route

Will be leaving in the morning from Sour Lake, Texas, up through Woodville, Lufkin, Nacogdoches and Longview on my way to Hugo, OK.
Any suggestions on where I could get propane for my Winnebago Minnie Winnie?
THANKS!!!1

How do I maximize MPG? from miles per hour

I've been so very lucky to have this incredible teaching opportunity come my way...I'll be teaching the children who travel with the Carson and Barnes circus...shortly, I'll be leaving Texas for Wyoming to meet with the circus...in your experience, what miles per hour has maximized miles per gallon. I have a 2000 Winnebago Minnie Winnie, V-10, total weight is 1500 below maximum...all thoughts appreciated.

Pros and Cons of 1099 versus withholding

Other than the most obvious, what are the pros and cons of 1099 versus the company withholding taxes on a workkamper position?

RV Insurance

I had an incredible teaching opportunity come my way and will be on the road full time for the next 6 months. When we got insurance on our Winnebago (December 2011) our agent asked if we were living in it. At the time we weren't. Now things have changed. While I can pick the normal carriers, I'm looking for a provider who has a combination of excellent coverage at a fair rate and outstanding service. I would be looking for full coverage.
PM me if more comfortable.

Questions On AMAZON locations????

A few questions on the three Kentucky, Kansas and Nevada Amazon locations: 1. Which state has the best tax advantage (as in no state income tax and lowest sales tax)? 2. Which location has the closest campground to the Amazon facility and is it within walking distance? 3. Which state has the best weather conditions in terms of least number of days freezing?
THANKS!!!

RE: Lighest Truck As A TOAD

THANKS sch911...a light truck is EXACTLY what I'm looking for...something to have with me to "get around" and not have to go in the Winnie...initially I was thinking of an older Datsun truck...something along that line would be perfect for my needs...

Lighest Truck As A TOAD

Considering a small truck as a TOAD...would like the bed as additional storage...truck doesn't need to be brand new...an older truck line that has a good reputation will be fine...what is the approximate cost for setting up a vehicle to be towed. I will be towing with a 2000 Winnebago Minnie Winnie. THANKS!!!

RE: Workamping With Larger Dogs

Now that I'm retired, I'm considering some workingcamping opportunities, and my "Baby-Girl" (all 50 lbs of her) will be my companion. I ask up front for their pet policies and have never been disappointed. Our pets are our children! "Baby-Girl" is a wonderful traveling companion, excellent RV manners and loves meeting new people.
If "Baby-Girl" is not accepted...I don't need the position! That my 2 cents and I'm sticking to it!

Deep Cycle vs Regular Starting Batteries

A member commented on my battery post that based on the description of the battery (800 Cold Cranking Amps),I have two regular starting batteries in my Winnebago and not deep cycle. My question is: what is the difference between the two and if I do replace with deep cycle, what improvement should I have? THANKS.

RE: Recharge Coach Batteries???

The batteries I currently have in the coach are Duralast Marine Batteries, 800 Cold Cranking Amps...I've check the fluid levels and the connections...all are well...if replacement is the answer...what is a battery you've had excellent service with?
I believe those are NOT deep cycle batteries, rather starting batteries since they are measured in CCA. Deep cycle batteries are measure in AH (amp hours).
If this is the case, that's your problem. Get rid of the starting batteries and get deep cycle ones.

Recharge Coach Batteries???

RE: 2000 Minnie Winnie, 429U, Cummins generator
Went to start the generator today...nothing...checked the levels...nothing on anything (batteries/blwater/graywater/etc.) Starte d the motorhome and drove to town (about 30 minutes)...I now have the highest level for the batteries...and all other levels are reading as they normally do...still the generator won't start...drive back home...coach battery levels are high...but after cranking once or twice...levels are drained...I'm assuming the batteries need charging...am I correct...if so...a recommendation on a charger...all comments greatly appreciated.

Any site better than CoolWorks?

I am currently exploring options for workcamping and am interested in finding the "jewel" of a place that is a perfect fit. Many possibilites are evident and CoolWorks is "really cool"...I'm wanting to know if there might be a "cooler" site out there. I'm interested in positions that offer pay in addition to a full hook up site. All comments appreciated.
