RE: 1990 Roadtrek

you can get a hitch carrier at walmart for about $60 that just slides in your hitch receiver, then put a generator on it and secure it down. Much easier than trying to cut and modify the side of your rv

RE: One HWH Jack does not go down - right front

press all 4 buttons on jack control at the same time, and hold for about 10 seconds to reset the system. The jack not retracting all the way prob just has a weak spring

RE: Bed Liner Material?

no way would I use that on a roof of an RV unless it was white. Standard black bedliner would hold in the heat and make it miserable inside

RE: Advice on shackle and equalizer replacement

I recommend equa flex. You can get a set of two on eBay, and then order also on eBay a set of wet bolts and shackles. They will be much thicker and stronger than stock. I put this on my trailer and it tows way better, night and day difference

RE: no start

I don't think a 94 will have a carb, it should have a throttle body with injectors. Remove air cleaner and disconnect fuel line coming up to throttle body, then just turn key to "on" but not start and see if fuel comes out. If so pump is good. Then reconnect line and put a rag under the injectors or observe if they spray fuel out when cranking it over. Also put a "noid light" on the wiring harness to each injector to make sure they have power if no fuel comes out

OK all you plumbing experts- need help with suburban valves!

just got an 07 Gulfstream Sedona, it did not come with any paperwork. It has a 12 gallon suburban water heater. it lights fine on propane and has water in the tank, but I can't get any hot water out of the faucet. Water comes out of both hot and cold sides but will not get hot. this thing has a total of 8 valves inside the front storage bay and i am not sure what the proper position should be for each one. Advice needed, see pic of current position of valves and tell me what's wrong

RE: tracfone--boy, do I need help!

sounds to me like you could still make calls but they just changed your number. C means CDMA and G means GSM. Those are the two different types of technology that cell phones use. GSM phones will roam and CDMA won't. In other words, say you have an AT&T phone that is GSM. If you are not within range of an AT&T tower, the phone will piggyback off Verizon or Sprint, etc, whichever tower is in range of the phone. a CDMA phone will not do this and will not have a signal if it is out of range of the main provider's tower.

RE: slide Motor

the bunk slide could house the motor on the inside of camper, if the bottom area is a couch look under it or if a bunkbed see if there is an access panel. you can also remove the screws that hold the slide switch on the wall and see if the contacts or wiring is burnt, common issue

RE: Do I need battery power to hitch up?

as Roy says, you have to have your batteries for the breakaway to operate if something were to happen over the road. Don't risk it.

RE: Alpenlite slideout question

there's probably either a speed handle tool with a notch in it, or it will be a 5/8" socket that you put on the end of the slide motor underneath the trailer. Carry a good cordless drill and socket adapter or you'll be cranking all day. If it's a handle, look for a small hole in the lower skirt of the trailer, that is where you put the tool in and then crank. The hole will be on the opposite side of the slide and could be inside one of the cargo door areas.

found one on ebay for $125 that seats 5 people. Good for lakes and rivers that are not too rocky and it weighs next to nothing, and comes with pump

RE: rotten floor

not necessary when you make a 2x4 deadman to hold it. Do this on concrete in a level place, do not do it on grass or gravel. watch Gulfstream techs do it here:

RE: A leaking slide - on our new TT.

once weather permits, take a hose and have one person inside looking around while you run the water on the slide,, so you can figure out where the entry point is. Have them take a video with a cell phone and then take it to the nearest dealer for coachmen and show them the video so they can properly repair and seal it. It should be under warranty and no cost

anybody here ever owned an RV dealership? advice needed

I'm thinking of opening an RV dealership, just trailers (used) and was wondering what company would be the easiest to work with as far as financing customers. Prefer a co. that can handle all the paperwork quickly so I can get paid in full, and then the finance co. can deal with customer directly as they make payments to them. PM me details if you have experience

RE: Said goodbye to my best friend tonight.

I am sorry to hear this as well. Our dog survived an attack of pit bulls and is still with us, and I know your dog holds a special place in the family. When the time is right, maybe a new member can come along. My personal belief is that animals do go to heaven and one day we can see them as they will be, with no pain or sickness.

RE: Amicalola Falls State Park-GA

the campground is not super exciting, but the lodge is a great place for dinner and has stunning views of the mountains. The climb up to CG is not as bad as some make it out to be. it's not a problem. If you can get a window table for dinner at the lodge, do so. Kids will like the nature center at the entrance.

RE: '94 Chevy front end (suspension)

on a rig that age I would just replace any steering component that has a tear in the rubber boot over the ball joint/tie rod etc. The sockets are probably worn out anyway and it's basic maintenance. Same thing with bushings, look for dry rot or major cracks, your control arm bushings and swaybar bushings are probably worn
