RE: Snakes

There is a product called Snake Away that you can put around your trailer as a repellent and I am told it works well. I have sold tons of it but have never had the need to use it.

RE: Trailer w/bunk beds

We have a Forest River 25RS and it has 4 bunks in the front and a queen size bed as the rear slide. We have three kids and someone can take a friend and have the bunk without using the sofa or the dinette.

RE: Thoughts About Yesterday's Football Games (College)

Loved that USC lost!! I wish Ohio State had played them better as I thought they could have been beaten when OSU played them. I was glad to see Michigan lose as well.

RE: Texas bound... am I nuts?

So, I had one more question about our future venture to Texas this winter. I am concerned about our TT between now and the time we are going to leave for Texas. We do not leave until December 19th and it has already been dropping below 32 deg at night here in northern Nevada. I have all holding tanks empty but that is about all I have done as far as preventing anything from freezing.
Are there any steps I could take that will not completely winterize the trailer since we will be using it this winter? Just a little bit concerned since it has been pretty cold here already this fall.
Since it is not that expensive to winterize it yourself until December I personally would do that just for the peace of mind if nothing else. The worst would be to no do something and then get on your trip and have some damage that you WILL have to fix and take away from your fun time with your family. Of course all of this is just my opinion.

RE: trade her in

Hello. I have been trying to convince DW to let me trade in our 2007 JaycoFeather 218 and buy a new trailer.( I'm interested in the Keystone Passport 2590BH and the JayFeather 218 has been paid off) She says we will take a "bath" on the trade in and yes, I can see per NADA that the value of the trailer is declining but I want to trade it in before it goes lower and lower. My question is: I read here that a lot of you trade your trailer in to the dealer so how did you decide if you are taking a "bath" or not on the trade in? Advise please. Thx
I see you are in Utah. I would recommend that you try and sell it on KSL.com You will lose a lot if you do trade it in versus selling it outright. I believe you can even make a couple of thousand for yourself. We did. We went to several dealers and were offered more than $2,000 les than what we got for ours on KSL. Best part we sold it in a week.

RE: Newbie tow question.

You really need to get LT tires on your truck. I had P tires on my truck and it really made a huge difference not to mention the safety factor of it. You can get an inline fuse at an auto parts store. I cannot believe your dealer allowed you to tow that home without a brakie controller. You are much braver than I am and just glad that you didn't need to stop suddenly.

RE: "Buckeyes" Lay Giant Goose Egg!!!

I couldn't watch this game on TV because the Big 10 Network felt televising Michigan playing a powerhouse like Deleware State would be a more competive game! Yeah right! Ohio State turned the ball over (5) times and although I'm an Ohio State fan, they deserved to loose. I'm not impressed with Terrelle Pryor (QB) and loosing to Purdue, which was on a five game loosing streak, is down right embarassing. Cincinnati is the best college football team in Ohio, NOT Ohio State! Bagman.
I didn't see the game either but if you turn it over like that you deserve to lose. I sure loved watching that Cincy game. Maybe I need to have them be my favorite team? No have been a Buckeye fan way too long but hate to see them lose to underdogs like this. Tyrelle just needs to calm down and freaking act like a QB and not a runner.

Batteries-Leave on travel trailer in winter or remove

What do you guys do? Do you leave your batteries on your trailer for winter storage or do you remove them to a warmer place for storage?
Thanks

RE: Dallas Cowboys - what seems to be the problem?

I love that they suck. I am a fan of anyone who plays or beats the Cowboys. Their new stadium however is pretty neat. I'll give them that but I do hope they do not win a single time this season in it!! :)

RE: Ohio's Best College Football Team?

I am a Buckeye fan as well and have loved their defenses as of the last few years. Cincinatti has become a team to watch as well and agree that they can play as well as any other on offense. I loved out the Buckeyes took Illinois out of the game yesterday. I just wish they would have stuck it out against USC. They had that game won.

RE: Your (Football) Team Is Playing Who?

I blame the loss on Tressel. With a little over a minute left till half time and USC has no time outs, he (Tressel) calls pass plays that gives USC time to come down and make a field goal and tie the score 10 - 10 at half-time. Why in the HE11 he didn't call running plays and run the clock out, I'll never know. Anyway, the OSU vs USC was a great game, but I'm very disappointed that the "Buckeyes" lost! Chuck.
Chuck...I really like Tressel except for the B.S. he pulls in these big games. I am getting freaking sick of this crap. I told my wife at the beginning of the game if they lost I would be okay with Tressel being let go. Oh, it just ticks me off so bad. They freaking owned the Trojans and I hate the fact that Ohio State let them win. Cannot stand the cockiness of USC And Pete Carroll. But, somehow they find a way to win. Oh this one is going to hurt for a while!!

RE: Your (Football) Team Is Playing Who?

My team will be playing Navy this week and hope that they play well against USC next week and pull out a win in that game. Can't wait to see it and how that sophomore QB does. I hope Tressel has learned how to freaking win a big game. We need him to. Too many disappointments.

RE: Ever walk in your trailer to find the stereo acting funny?

Lawoods69 writes "Mine is a Etone7500 or something like that. It is a DVD/CD/AMFM with Ipod hook-up. Anyone have something like that?
Some of you have said that if has happened to you. What have you done to fix it? I tried to turn it off or change channels or change modes but it doesn't do anything but click back and forth between AUX mode and another mode. That's why I pulled the fuse. "
The RV industry is riddled with junky stereos, they are a cheap afterthought. Quite frankly I am amazed that folks are ignoring stereos that mis behave, turn on by themselves.
Not only RV stereos don't seem to last, they really don't have much going for them in the sound quality department.
Lawoods69, you did the correct thing by removing the fuse. This reduces the risk of fire or other damage that could be caused by a malfunctioning stereo.
Even though this stereo is still under the trailer manufacturers warranty I am suggesting you forgo the warranty hassle and scrap that stereo. Chances are the RV replacement stereo won't fair any better, and you will spend lots of money to haul the TT back to the dealer.
By an aftermarket CAR STEREO, they are smaller but yet much higher quality (car stereo manufacturers don't build RVs!). There are plenty of great car stereos now days which have lots of advanced features such as IPod control, USB inputs, Aux inputs, CD players that play standard audio CD and MP3/WMA files. The smaller size of a car stereo will allow you to create additional storage space.
After replacing the RV stereo, you might find out that the RV speakers are poor quality so you might wish to consider upgrading them also.
For example Clarion CZ309 for $149 (USB w/Ipod control), aux input
HERE
Or many other great car stereos at CRUTCHFIELD
This is correct. I bought a new to us trailer and hated the stereo that was in it and got on Ebay and bought a car stereo for $40. It is not a dvd player or anything but for $40 it works great and one of the main things I HAD to have was the IPOD AUX port as we use the IPOD all the time.

I have a pressure regulator and want to know where you guys put yours? Do you put it on the city water inlet or do you put it on the faucet? I just to know where the best place is for these.

RE: Ant Problem

Ants are pretty easy to kill. There is Diatamecous earth that you can find in any garden center. There are also different ant baits that you can get that they will take down to the colony if you know where the colony is. You can also spray a product around your camper on the ground to prevent future problems with other insects not just the ants. One of those products is called Tempo from Bayer and you can get that a local farm store or garden center as well. That stuff works great for a number of different insects.
