RE: Anyone used Shade Pro products?

Watched a tech install an awning at Quartzsite this year. He talked me through the whole job. I had previously removed my awning and roller. When I got home, I called Shadepro and ordered new material. Replaced the awning by myself. Good people, good material, good price.

RE: Replaced the awning fabric on the 5th wheel

I used Shadepro. Their instructions show how it can be done by one person in less than an hour.

RE: Roof leak TPO

I had same type leak. Seal was bad. I felt the roof was to flat at the AC hole and a place for future problems. I built a tapered shim 5/8 thick down to 0 thick all the way around the AC hole. I pulled up my EDPM roof up and inserted the shims under the EDPM. Sealed all edges with endurabond tape. Now water must be 5/8in deep on roof to even contact the rubber seal. Of coarse reinstalled AC with new rubber seal. Peace of mind.

RE: Alpenlite Seville Questions

look for the Alpenlite travel club in facebook. Lots of helpful folks there, including parts service rep from Ullmans rv, largest Alpenlite dealer in US back in the day.

RE: "A" drivers licence

In CA if over 15,000, you need a class A (non commercial) and there is no requirement for the physical. You can be on the verge of a heart attack and wheel that rig down the road.

RE: K&N intake air system

One study says Napa gold air filters filter best with least restriction. Amsoil is actually a bit better, but 20% more in cost.

RE: Do I have to worry about boiling my battery to death?

My converter is a single stage which will boil the batteries. I put it on its own breaker and added a pulse charge battery maintainer $34.00 that is wired in full time. Only use the converter when dry camping when generator is running to charge batteries. The maintainer keeps the batts in great shape.

RE: Surburban Sf-30f furnace

The gas valve, solenoid, is actually a finish regulator. Output at the jet should be 10.5 inch water pressure. But I would look at the spark gap.

RE: Replacing old Dometic/A&E window awning fabric

To slide fabric in, pros use a small pully on the far end of the channel and a rope attached to the fabric with small vice grip pliers. Pull the rope and thread the fabric into channel at same time. one man job.

Going on 2 years. Did some hard scrubbing to get bugs off of front cap and scrubbed the rmp off. Added another coat of RMP to front cap only.

RE: why no "high end" 28 - 30 ft. fivers ???

Saw a 27sl Alpenlite like mine last month for $7,000.00. Like new inside and out. Alpenlit was an extremely well built trailer but was not light as name implies. 27 ft with 7,000# axles and 16 inch wheels.

I would call the tech support number on the bottle. When I called ZEP tech support, I was told ZEP High traffic was the exact replacement for RMP-3

RE: Lug Nuts

Never seize is a great product but never let it get on the area of the nut that contacts the wheel. This area needs to be dry. Use sparingly. Ran a fleet of 400 vehicles for 25 years, used it on every stud

RE: flooring

I used laminate flooring from Costco.. Love it! Have seen allure roll up on edges of faux planks to the degree that it will catch dirt if swept cross grain. This could be from high heat as mentioned before. RVs get real hot in storage on the desert.

Still better to raise weight off to get better distribution of the grease. Nick's truck parts in Pensylvania is best price on Dexter wet bolt kit

RE: DIY Awning protector

I guess it is called schedule 5 pvc. White on outside black inside. In Pvc section at lowes. It is drain pipe. When cutting length wise on table saw, Lower blade to where only 1/8 inch is exposed. Place fence 2in from blade. Does not try to kick and does not try to roll. I also like the rain gutter idea, but this covers more of the awning.

RE: Furnace got me stumped.

I find those little connectors to the board cause lots of problems. Always ck them first. Helped a fellow camper recently where heater would run 45 seconds and go off. Then relight after about 1 min, then shut off again after 45 sec. ???? sail sw? hi temp sw? Thermostat? NONE OF ABOVE! loose wire at board connector. These heaters will drive you nuts!
