RE: What areas are the most desolate ?

Not the area you stated, but if you want to get away from it all. Have I got your place. North western corrner of Nevada, a place called "black rock desart", camp at the "black rock" a good 100 miles north of fernley. Watch your speed (pavment) going and returning as you are on trible land. Stop in Nixon and spend money at the store. (help keep it open). Buy a map in gerlatch, hit the dirt and be safe. MUST take twice the water you think you will need. There is nothing for sale in the area out side of the two towns. And the rock is a long ways from them. .

RE: Heater Blows Cold Air

I have the samp problem, heater works great....the first time. Heats up the coach, shuts down at temp, on restartonly cold air. On shore power, got propain, changed out board. The sail switch is in back, would have to remove the heater to get to it. Igniter on side, again remove heater to even look at it. .

RE: Reference Camping World

Sounds like the people at the top in the "camping world" franchise system do not look in at the named stores very good. Good shops all the way down to cheep stay from places. Not on the shelves = not for sale here, go away. But watch out for there credit co, it is "chase bank" this co will sc*** with you given a chance. But maybe the "camping world" franchise people read these posts and can clean up the shops? Please stock the items you post / print as for sale. If not, then Shut down and become a drop ship Internet money collecter. I know sounds harsh, but at the cost of fuel, and special charges to do a special order I do not want to do two trips just to spend $20. USD. .

RE: Black Tank Flush

Have you tried cleaning out the tank? Next time you have a mty tank, fill 3/4 full dump in some DRY water softner 1/2 cup not the rock salt for drinking this is for the landry, but not a softner for clothing. (for hard water, it makes water weter) And a 1/4 cup cheep landry soap, drive about 10-20 miles, dump, repeat. Third time water should be clear. Then just do a small amount on the way to dump, will help keep things moving and your sensers working. Do this to the grey tank also. And is septic ok.

RE: Re:gas stations

If your tank only last about three hrs, get a second tank on your truck, so your range will be about 5-7 hrs. Better to have a longer run time than you need than coasting in on fumes. My old truck a diesel (totald by a headon) got a good 700 miles crusing. The truick now (gasser) only 400 miles. Planing on a third tank. But even at 400 miles time for a good brake any how. .

RE: 5TH Hitch Latch Opening By Itself

As a commeral driver for some 20 years. Never have seen a plate encrusted with over lubing, over lubing cost $$$$ yes some grease is on the sides of the plate, but if you look at the jaws, thay are all most dry. Just a spray lube, of the dry slicone is best, "wet" oil/ grease is bad as junk stickes to it, and jams the jaws. The smaller rv type will be even more pickey. Use a Teflon plate on your pin No grease. In some years now (7) no rust, no jaming, and I use a two jaw hitch. .ALWAYS double check and look at your lock on the hitch before moving out. .

RE: Turn braking.

In the am will get under the truck and re check all wires. The ground is a all new, both plugs( bumper and in bed) are new wires going to new bolts in new holes, so fresh clean steel is on contact with the wire. And yes I have both bumper and in bed as 7 pin rv plugs. At bumper T'ed off truck wires to go to each plug, with both plugs getting new grounds. ( had fun cleaning old "grit" off the frame.) and grounded to the truck bed. just instaled a new motor, got ground to frame, to chassis, and to the batt. I allways make sure the truck/car/jeep/etc has good clean grounds, am puters want and demand such. .

RE: thinking of trucking part time, need reality check

At this time you will make better money by just putting it into a savings account at the local bank.

RE: Need Fifth Wheel Hitch advice please

On the topic of sliders due to some one taking out my psd, I need/must install my hitch into another ford, but this one is a 4x4, stock long bed. But the question is at what point is the hitch mounted on the bed? Center over the axle? One inch forward? Other???

RE: portable waste tanks

Not better but "cheep" plastic 55 gallon drums, on one bung install a plastic nipple with a garden hose fitting, right next to that but closer to the edge of the drum install a auto rad drain fitting, (air release), Other bung install about the same but with a valve. Using a pump and with the drum"s" on there sides fill and transport to a legal dumping site. Not to messy just use epoxy on the fittings at the drum.

RE: Emg help needed

Fuse panel found, replaced blown fuse, cold air now :-). Not possable to track wiring as all inside of the walls. So I just started emtying cabnets. Main wires go into drivers side wall at floor level, Go across room at 45/ angle then go up to just below the cealing, in the cabnet were all my dishes are kept. On the pass side, ( thuse blocking view of fuse panel. Ac breakers are next to the converter, dc fuses are accross the room. Thanks to all for the help, when we meet up at "camp" remind me of this and you get a couple cold ones.

RE: Emg help needed

No dc fuse panel I can find. must be some were, as there is a white and a red coming off the converter....but it is a white and a green to the lights. All the wires are in the walls so a bit hard to track down. but will work on it some more when I get off work. .

RE: Emg help needed

Well no problem with power coming into the trailer. Got 30amp,120 ac, got 12 volt dc, (both batt and converter). Only part of the lighting is out (can live with that), all lights in bathroom area. But no ac, (also no heater this winter). Some how a conector failed, or a wire burned up. need more time than I have today.

RE: Emg help needed

Gfi, in bathroom was/is working. Did a reset some time back. So far I can not find were the falt is at, must be some kind of a one time fuse, aka not a auto-resetabe kind. on the dc converter box, are both fuses + , or is one + and the other - ? But if the latter I would not have any 12 power. One is +, and the other is -. Going uptop to see if there is a service panel with a fuse there. If not then I get no sleep for the day, as I must get up by 10:pm to go to work. .

RE: Emg help needed

Yes. Checked no spark accross them. But there is something that looks like it might back a glass fuse type, will open it up. But only talking four lights on three switches, plus the ac controler, as the unit on the roof runs on ac power only.
