RE: First time using Dexter E-Z Lube axle

Good luck with that. I hope your grease and bearings were warm so it flowed easily. I hope that you turned each wheel while pumping the grease into the hub. Turning the wheel while pumping the grease is right from the Dexter manual. In an ideal situation, they work as designed. However, most people don't use them ideally. The rusult is pushing out the rear seal and grease contaminating the brake shoes and drums resulting in virutally no brakes. I hand pack only. Hoefully you did not blow the seal. Phillip

RE: Bauer NE Keyless Entry

I agree. Another company has one that has a key fob, as well. However, the keypad of the unit is totally seperate and sticks on wtih 3M tape. It cost more that the Bauer unit and offers more combonation choices, however, I don't need a key fob and I don't want the the key pad to be seperate.
The other optoin is the factory style unit that involves a lot of wiring.
This unit is looking like a nice option for anyone wanting a keyless entry. Phillip

RE: Pulling A Fiver With A Extended Cab

No, the Chevy website shows what is now called a Double Cab with standard box. They are apparantly calling it a double cab now instead of extended cab.
Right now, the HD trucks are still going to be the current design and Chevy is only offering the Crew Cab in short and standard box.
We tow our Cameo with a 2011 35000 Srw Crew Cab standard box (6.5 foot) bed with a Pullrite Superglide hitch. I wanted an extended cab but it was not offered in a 3500 series SRW with a standard bed and I did not want the long bed. I'd wait till later in the model year or visit a Chevy dealer for better details. I can't imagine no offering of the extended cab in the future. Phillip

RE: Spray on Roofs

Saw the application on a new Trilogy RV. Color matched and beautiful. If I was not trading RV's so often, I would have it done. Frankly it should be an industry standard in my opinion.
Trilogy? A Dynamax Trilogy? According to their website, the roof is a seamless fiberglass radius roof? Phillip

Bauer NE Keyless Entry

I'm wondering if anyone has installed the Bauer NE retrofit keyless entry lock? I'd like to know how you like it and if you'd recommend it. Thanks, Phillip

RE: Spray on Roofs

I live in the Jacksonville area and this guy has been in business a while. He has recently expanded so I guess he is doing OK. I have seen his product and chatted with him at the local RV show a few years ago.
As a previous poster mentioned, Excel is now offering the Rhino roof as a factory option on their Winslow lline as an alterniative to the standard fiberglass roof on their higher end Limited. Excel is offering the product install at their factory for any rig.
Anyone with a qulaity built RV interested in keeping it for many years would probably find this roof worth the cost. After all, the roof is one of the weakest links on RVs. Just my 2 cents.
It would be nice to hear from anyone who has had this roof installed from the Green Cove Springs, FL, installer. Phillip

RE: Inside Stairs

It really comes down to what your floorplan is and where your stairs are located...Do they end near the door? Do they end near any openings such as air ducting? What room is there at the bottom of the stairway?
Mark
agree .... the older I get, the less I like steps .... for that reason, earlier today, we spent some time looking at Jayco Eagle Travel Trailers .... if we could find a well built travel trailer like the old Sunnybrook Titan 33FKS that had a space for a separate washer and dryer, we may well move in that direction .... till then, we'll hang on to what we have and may take a look at modifying the steps
Jim
Check out this Excel with the bath option "E". It's a quality travel trailer with space for washer/dryer. Good luck, Phillip

RE: Fallen in love with a Carri-lite

That would be a great unit. We didn't know what quality was until we bought a 2011 Cameo. Ours is shorter, but the design still gives us plenty of room. They are heavy, but for a lot of traveling they are great. Very well made, and no Lippert frame.
X2! Great unit. I think you will be happy with it and there is still support from the Lifestyle factory. Phillip

RE: Pull Rite Superglide-Maintenance

I have never taken the hitch apart in 2 years. I do keep it liberally coated before and after every trip with Slip Plate and nothing else. I'm starting to worry that maybe I should take it apart for an inspection? Phillip

We got ours last Summer through Sears. They ordered them and we took them elsewhere to be installed. The price was $302 per tire. Phillip

RE: Question On Pullrite superglide hitch.

I check to ensure the jaws are closed every time I hitch up. Then I do the trial pull thing.
I've never had a connect fail, and I would like to continue that.

RE: Raise hitch or lower king pin?

One of the benefits of raising the hitch is not risking reducing the visibility of the hitch when hooking-up. It may or may not make a difference. Just a thought. Phillip

RE: Manufacturer of this flood light

Whatever- if you really don't want an answer, don't ask a question.
plonk
Your response is classic of the post having nothing to do with the question. I asked a about a specific light not suggestions for others. Your response had nothing to do with the question. So I will say if you don't know the answer don't respond. Two way street dude. Thanks for setting a perfect example. Phillip

RE: Grand design solitude?

Saw one at the Tampa RV Super Show in January. It was nice inside - as nice as many, many others. I remember the bedroom was very, very roomy. Otherwise, nothing really stood out on the exterior. It is built just the majority of fivers in this price range - lots of Lippert components, I beam frame, rubber roof, etc. Just my 2 cents, Phillip
