RE: Stuck with Rude Neighbors Argh...

Fight rude with nude. Walk around checking things in the morning wearing nothing but a pair of flip flops and a smile. Do tasks that require a lot of bending over. This is "normal" dress code for some campgrounds. See nothing rude about it.

RE: I Need to Vent!!!

I agree. The OP has been more than patient. My observation concerning Dealers is, very few hire anyone qualified to work on a bicycle, much less a RV. The ones that have qualified people are so busy, they cannot handle all the customers. That leaves in-competent workers working for in-competent Dealers. What are the Dealers to do. Tell their customers they have no one to follow-up on warrenty claims when the purchase is made? No, they lie, ignore, and rebuke customers because they have no other means of handling the problems.

RE: RV Parks w/older RV restrictions

Wish they would publish the name of the park. I will be out there in a few weeks and I always try to use the ones that restrict. I will be happy to take the spot that you were denied. When my unit goes over 10 yrs. I will quit going to those places but bet you never see me complaining on here about it.

RE: I Need to Vent!!!

Very good reason NOT to purchase a new RV. Always purchase used, from a individual, after the warrenty has expired, do all the work yourself, and if it has to go to a dealer, SELL IT. The loss of money will be little compared to the emotions and stress you will suffer from expierences with a dealer. :S

RE: cash grab by Crown Villa Resort

...Yet one more reminder that we made a VERY wise choice many years ago, when we decided we would always LEAVE THE PETS AT HOME when we camp. That way we never have to worry about things like this happening. Will And you miss all the joy of sitting out under the awning with your pet at you side or in your lap. We have a small dog that goes with us or we don't go. We have made many friends that also have pets with them. More with pets than one's without. We offer to watch out for neighbor's pets when they are away and they graciously return the favor. Any campground that is not pet friendly will not get a visit from me, and I am sure they are happy I don't visit. If I have to worry about the feeling of a few "few pet haters" I will find ways other than camping to spend my time and money.

RE: DIY MH paint job?

I had a friend that painted a Cessna 150 using a short nap roller. Don't know what kind of paint he used but it looked pretty darn good when he finished. Much better than the old peeling and faded paint on it before he started. http://forums.iboats.com/trailers-towing/painting-trailer-foam-roller-577823.html The above link is talking about painting a boat trailer but gives you a idea of the process. 1 more link and I am through. http://www.ehow.com/how_6946585_paint-car-foam-roller.html

RE: Progressive RV Insurance Scam

Let me add one more item to "chew" on here. Progressive is running an ad with Flo and a dog, where she voiceovers something about; ..not just covering you, but your best friend too. Well, maybe if your vet is in Mexico. The 500 limit applies to their pet coverage too(400 actually 100 deductible). So then you have to ask yourself, is it worth filing a 400 claim (500 less 100 deductible) and losing your claim free status? One could argue this "insurance" is actually a profit center for them through increased premiums because the claim free discount is lost. Progressive is all about marketing, making you feel all warm and fuzzy, building a trust relationship with a fictional character, then taking it all back in the fine print. I think you have made it perfectly clear that you "hate" Progressive for lying to you and cheating you out of your money. Now, tell us which Co. you moved to that is so "great" and describe the coverages you now have that are included in your basic policy without adding riders? And FYI I just left Progressive after 8 yrs. of very happy service. I moved because of Premium increase but I am not complaining about claims I did not have or coverages not offered in their policy.

RE: Progressive RV Insurance Scam

Many many years ago in Chicago there was this certain group of people that would walk into the local businesses and tell them they had to pay for protection. Eventually there were charges of racketeering, profiteering, and extortion. Now they just simply call this legalized extortion, insurance, and the mob is now simply agents, and on the other side you have the scumbag lawyers that are responsible for the extremely high rates we all pay and all the stupid little clauses written in the fine print Great thing about today's rules is "you do not have to purchase" the coverage you "hate" so bad. Just save your money and pay "cash" for everything. No one will be shaking you down making you purchase "protection" you don't want. I bet you would "gripe" if all the Ins. Co. went out of business or better yet, "refuse to write coverage for you" yet Insure your neighbor? Also, all policies are written in "plain language". If you cannot understand it, ask any 10 yr. old and they can explain it to you. 21 yrs. of P&C Ins. Sales fuels my post.

RE: Living in a Covered RV

Isn't that kind of like putting plastic coverings on the couch? I cover all my couches in plastic. Something wrong with that? :h

RE: Cleaning the Gray water sensors?

If that does not work they say a bag of ice generally will.. I replaced mine with the Horst sensors. No more issues. Just wondering, how do you get the "ice" into the gray tank?

RE: fuel filler hose cost??

Took Mh to local RV shop to get the fuel filler hose replaced. F53 Chassis, 1997 Dolphin. Charge for 4 feet of hose was $147.00. That is 36.75 a foot. Near as I can tell from looking on line just now that is about twice the cost it should have been. Don't know what the ID was but even at 2 inches that still seems high. Suspect the ID is about 1 and 1/2 inches at the most. Any other opinions or actual cost experience? Thanks As per your post, this is what they charged for the hose. How much was the labor charge in addition to the cost of the hose, or did you replace it yourself?

RE: Warped Attitude

I didn't realize that when I joined the forum that I was required to answer each and every OP's question whether or not that I knew the answer. If I think I can provide valuable information, then I respond. I do not give useless answers just to be answering. Ray Unless I was trying to get to 200 posts...:B :B We do not require answers from posters that have no idea what they are posting about. Would appreciate you abstaining from posting and comenting. I see you have no valuable info so why don't you just "shut up" ?

Warped Attitude

You know, this site used to be about swaping info on maintaing your RV but has turned into a B***h session about nothing. Example : http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/26942416.cfm is a post asking for help with their MH, it got 21 replies so far. http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/26940817.cfm about Boondocking at Walmart has 73 replies. Everyone has to get their 2 cents worth in about Walmart but very few care to help a fellow RVer with their problem.

RE: Crazy steering wobble/shake

Imbalance from left to right? Like if one side of your RV is overloaded and the other side light? Did this happen with the holding tanks empty? Or full? I've only had the death wobble twice, both times it was with nearly full holding tanks, grey, black and water. Both times, slowing to a stop caused it to go away. Both times the front end components checked out OK. Now I always dump before driving. Jim, Suspect all your tanks are in back. When full, they UNLOAD the front axle, making it much more sensitive to any "out of spec" conditions. I agree with Wolfe10. When you accelerate, you are "unloading" the front axle. I would re-weigh the coach and move as much weight to the front as possible. That would be a very cheap fix if it works.

RE: Use of Orange/Yellow cones is a must!

NASCAR makes you serve a "pass through penalty" if you take out the cone at the entrance to pit road. I reccomend the same for your Class A driver. :R

RE: Dumping air when parked

The manual on my HR say's: Slides out, Dump air, Jacks down. When leaving: Jacks up, Air up, Slides in. Get out "fast" before someone complains. :?

No comparision. Hankook is superior in everyway. Reason, I have them on my MH and that's plenty of reason for me. :B

RE: Good Sam Rally Locations

The Good Sam organization should stand up for freedom, and holding a national rally in Syracuse, NY (where the state has revoked 2nd amendment) is appalling. Same for Colorado and other states where laws have been implemented to destroy civil rights of law-abiding citizens. This should be a major consideration for all future rally locations! Maybe they should hold the rally in Venezuela? Would that make you happy? :S
