RE: 1/2T Towing...It's The Payload That Doesn't Make Them Work

Good move Bob - if you had been in an accident and they weighed everything you would have been in trouble. Have a great time this summer. Phil

RE: Running the fridge on lp while driving

We do it all the time - otherwise your food will spoil. As stated - put the fridge on Auto - it will switch back and forth as required. There have been a number of threads about turning off the gas when you refuel. Look them up and draw your own conclusions - no need to get that thread started again, :)

RE: New RV'r trying to determine tow vehicle - Help!

How many people are you going to be packing? If just two then an extended cab pu will be fine - otherwise you a looking at a Tahoe or Suburban type vehicle. Phil

RE: Baltimore Harbor Tunnel/propane Help!

I would recommend picking up Rt.301 South in Delaware and continue down the eastern shore of Maryland, much less traffic. Just east of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge it merges with Rt 50. Cross the Bay Bridge (no toll going west bound) and stay on Rt 50 to Rt.95/495 south around Washington, DC. The new bridge across the Potomac is now open. Maryland just raised bridge tolls so you might want to check the fee on the MDOT website. This is a good alternative, you bypass Baltimore traffic. Just be VERY careful on your timing when you hit the DC Beltway. DC does not have a rush hour - they have a rush day :( That is why I take the commuter train to work. :)

RE: Willamsburg VA KOA?

We stayed at Willimasburg KOA a number of years ago and found the sites small but OK. IT was obviously designed in a time of shorter RVs. I had no problem but if your rig is longer than 30' it will be tight. We walked over to Colonial and foundthe site more open. The biggest comment is that this costs are are generally high. Under no circumstances would I stay at Anvil unless you are a big rail fan because the tracks from Norfolk are in your backyard. At night the trains run every two hours. Check our rvparkreviews.com for others comments. Phil

RE: Towing on SC Route 17 ????

Another vote on US17. I have pulled over that section - we have a son in the Navy at Goose Creek - with no problems. Phil
