RE: install rv power awning on home?

I have a good friend I talked into a Sunsetter and it is considerably more robust than an RV awning. It's not hard to crank it in-&-out.

RE: Digital Multimeters- An RVer's Best Friend

I have that meter. It is every bit as good as my Fluke plus it has 2 ranges of DC amps. This is what every RV owner needs who wants to know what their 12V system is doing.
The most useful meter I've found is a clamp-on style ammeter. With a clamp-on meter you don't have to break a circuit to measure current. Most clamp-on meters will only measure AC current so you will have to spend a bit more for one capable of measuring DC. I spent $80 for the one I have. Sears sells a meter for about $60 that looks appealing.

RE: Misleading avertising/ignorant sales people

Heheh, my 'little' 18k coach has a 10,000# hitch on it (per the label) and a small car would be about right.

RE: Dental Professional Question - Sonicare

I've used both the Oral B and a Waterpic for years and my dentist attributes my lack of cavities, healthy gums and less frequent need for cleaning to their use.

RE: Flojet Macerator electrical problem

Do you have power from the source? IE: the hot side of the connector.

RE: Point and shoot camera recommendation.

I have one of these and it takes good macro pics. Zoom is not bad for old tech but for $20 + a memory card what can you lose? Uses only rechargable AA and a compact flash card.

RE: Replacing slide valve gaskets

'O' rings are not rubber and Vaseline will not hurt them.
Whaatt?? O-rings are not rubber?? Ooops, someone must've forgot to tell me. I've been designing O-rings and other seals (for Hydraulics and Pneumatics applications) for 30 years now. O-rings ARE in fact RUBBER. Unless they are of a special rubber compound used for special applications (i.e. EPDM rubber) Vaseline will not hurt them.
Sorry-wasn't thinking that Buna N 'O' rings were rubber. What I tried to convey was Buna N (most 'O' rings)is OK with petroleum products.

RE: 12-Volt LED Night Light

I use a mini LED in a license plate fixture-add a switch (if needed) and it's just enough to navigate by.

RE: General repair manual recommendations

If you'd ignore 'old biscuit'. you'll find all the info you'll ever need right here on this forum or any of the other popular RV forums in the internet. Even Google will give you info on how to repair every aspect of your RV if you put in the correct search criteria.

Sure does feel good on a cold morning. Years ago, I was plumbing a house for a owner/builder in Vermont, and he requested a hot water line to his toilet.

RE: Dometic RM2852 No Workie -- Please Help

Just confirmed with Dometic that my fridge never had the recall.
So I guess it's off to the Internet to find the least expensive route to go.Here is the best & least expensive route to go. I did it and couldn't be happier. The fridge has been colder and works as designed for the last 2 years. Cooling unit He'll refund $100 when you return the old unit (pre-paid) so your cost is $425 and a few hours labor.

RE: Adding storage underneath

I've looked at my compartment and decided it was just too much trouble. I suppose if you could find one of the plastic boxes that Coachman uses you could hack out the top to fit the piping, but it wouldn't carry much weight if you ruined it's structural integrity.
