RE: First Trip

At 70 large for a new pickup, I just about spit my pepsi across the room.

RE: Miles per day

I've done 600 miles a few days in a row headed down south. Not again. I limit my dirves to 7-8 hrs tops and stop every coupla hours to top the tank and drain the bladder.

RE: boxed curtain valances

My Jayco TT had the box valances screwed into the ceiling. I'd stare at the suckers every morning in bed when i woke up.

RE: Handheld Remote control for awning, rear jacks.slides,etc.?

I use mine for hitching\unhitching and coming back after dark. It's a 'double remote' built into one controller. The top portion of the key fob controls the awning and patio light. The lower section controls the slides and landing gear.

RE: 1995 starcraft lumastar 280 ck Buy it or not?????

Keep looking. There are tons of fivers out there. Many are newer and bound to be closer for you.

Or...remove the shroud?

RE: Fifth wheel investment

It's disposable like a car or truck, not to be considered an 'investment'. Enjoy your trailer whichever you decide on but realize it will depreciate to nothing in 20 yrs.

RE: Cord rubbing on tailgate

The paint damage to the tailgate was the catalyst for me to install an in-bed plug. They are cheap and an easy install.

RE: Splendide load size?

My seperate Splendides can handle roughly HALF of what you would at home and it takes twice as long.

RE: Eliminating new trailer smell?

It takes a long time for the 'new stench' to dissapate. There was a lot of good idea's here. Another thing you can try is a box or two of 'Fresh Cab' packets. They smell like pine and help keep rodents away too!

RE: Toilet Leak

I'd suspect a cracked valve.

RE: Water Filters and Hoses

Wow, no pressure regulator? That's flirtin' with disaster. Ask how I know.

RE: OK all you plumbing experts- need help with suburban valves!

Well mobile, how did you make out?? Inquiring minds wanna know.

RE: OK all you plumbing experts- need help with suburban valves!

The problem is that your water heater By-pass valve is in the wrong position. All valves should be pointed in the same direction.

RE: 2004 Montana Mountaineer

That is real bizzarro. The polarity seems reversed but how? If we on this thread can't come up with an answer, try calling a few RV dealerships and speak to the service dep't. They must have seen or heard of this before. I just had one question... The RV batteries I've owned had TWO posts and TWO wing nut connectors, one on each side positve and negative. Isn't yours like that too??

RE: CB radio usage

Sounds like a plan. If you plan on stopping outside DC in Maryland, check out Hagerstown-Antietam KOA. It's a small park but Big-rig friendly and real perty to boot.
