RE: Replace mirrored closet doors

We were getting ready to trade it in and DH did some work on the closet floor (rather close quarters as all of you know) and he bumped the glass with his knee pads. It was the first time in the 9 years we've owned it that we've damaged the doors. We offered to adjust the allowance on the trade to account for the cost of replacing the door, but the dealer didn't seem to be very worried about it and gave us what had been agreed upon.

RE: Replace mirrored closet doors

Thanks. I like the mirrors so we're going to go with a like replacement. Since RV dealers don't seem to carry them, we'll do it like ependydad did. You guys are the greatest. MA

Replace mirrored closet doors

We broke one of the mirrored closet doors in our fifth wheel. Has anyone else done this? Where did you find replacements and what was the approximate cost of the replacement? Thanks.

RE: Had to dump Fire Fox

I've been using FF for years and have only recently had a minor problem--minor in the sense that it only seems to be a problem with a few websites. When I try to open some websites (coupons.com is one example but there have been others) I get a black screen with GIF Image, 1 x 1 pixels on the top bar. Any ideas? Thanks.

RE: Problems with Firefox and NY times digital subscription

I was about ready to try Chrome, but sherlock62's suggestion worked for now. As he said, we'll know after ten page views--which I'll have by tomorrow morning. :) I'm also saving these instructions for the next time I have such a problem. Thanks.

Problems with Firefox and NY times digital subscription

I am paying for a NY times digital subscription so I can read what I want to online. Lately I've had a problem with pages being "grayed out" with a comment that I've used up my 10 free views I need to "link to my home delivery account" which I obviously don't have. I contact the NY times and received a response to the effect that I need to "clear my cache of temporary internet files". I'm using the latest version of Firefox and "cleared my cache" but it hasn't helped. The NY Times says that that is all they can do! Any suggestions for what else I can try or need to do? I'm very frustrated since reading these pages are part of my morning routine. Thanks for any help you can provide.

RE: Campgrounds/RV Parks near Ravenna, Ohio

Looks like the campground in Mantua might be a good choice. According to what I've read it used to be a "Jellystone" and not very well kept--but it has a different name now and the current review was very good.

RE: Campgrounds/RV Parks near Ravenna, Ohio

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like there is a nice park there.

RE: Campgrounds/RV Parks near Ravenna, Ohio

We want to be able to set up with slides out and have at least water & electricity since we really have to put our slides out. Does anyone know anything about the Country Acres CG?

Campgrounds/RV Parks near Ravenna, Ohio

We will be traveling next Monday and would like to stop near Ravenna, Ohio. Does anyone have any experience with the CGs or RV parks in that area. We are towing a 36' fiver with 3 slides and we've had some bad experiences with parks that claim to be able to handle big rigs and then have narrow roads, lots of trees, etc. that make maneuvering difficult if not impossible. Any comments or suggestions about the Ravenna area parks or for places to overnight within a 100 mile distance (preferable to the west)near the Ohio Turnpike would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. RE: Jacksonville,Fl

We used to live in JAX and still go through there a couple of times a year. Although staying on I-95 at 10:00 a.m. is very doable, I join the votes for I-295 to the EAST. It's shorter, newer, and the view on the Dames Point Bridge is great. This is the route we've used the last few times we've been through there unless we have another reason to go through town when we're not towing. I-295 West is much longer and older. Take the advice and go I-295 EAST.

RE: Ohio Turnpike Road Condition

We're coming from West Michigan and I-69 makes the most sense for us. We have a transponder from Ohio which will work on all three toll roads we'll be on. From all I've read, things should be fine. Thanks to all of you who provided input. Responses to this and other such inquiries over the years have kept us out of a lot of trouble and is one of the things I love about this site. MaryAnne

RE: Ohio Turnpike Road Condition

Paulj: We're coming from West Michigan and will take I-69 from near Lansing to the Indiana Turnpike and from there to points east.

RE: Ohio Turnpike Road Condition

We won't get on the turnpike in Indiana until it "intersects" with I-69 so we'll avoid the Illinois turnpike and most of Indiana. It's Ohio I'm concerned about and possibly Pennsylvania--but given where we're going we can't really avoid the PA turnpike.

RE: Ohio Turnpike Road Condition

Thanks. We've been driving MI Interstates (and red line roads) and understand the issues there. That said, if the turnpikes are no worse than that they shouldn't be a problem for us.

Ohio Turnpike Road Condition

We are planning to drive the Ohio Turnpike from Indiana to Pennsylvania. I don't mind paying to tolls but someone mentioned in passing that a few years ago the road surface was terrible. Has anyone driven it this summer? What is the condition of the road? We're towing a 36' fiver. Information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RE: Best route between I-81 and Andrews AFB

Thanks for all of the responses. You've answered my question about the various routes and I think I'll let my DH make the final decision since he's the one who'll be driving since it looks like both routes are okay. I really appreciate all the responses. I know the DC area can be a hassle to drive through and it really helps to get guidance from the locals rather than trying to guess the best way from the maps or mapping programs.

RE: Best route between I-81 and Andrews AFB

Bucky and Lantley: Your route sounds great but I have one question. What is SR 32 like from 70 to 95? It looks like it may be 2 lane for at least part of the way. I don't mind that as long as there aren't a lot of traffic lights to deal with. It also looks like after a few miles it becomes 4 lanes. I'm "assuming" that since you are both RVers and know the area that it shouldn't be a problem, but I don't like to assume anything. Thanks.

RE: Best route between I-81 and Andrews AFB

Hello, fellow squid. I was a WAC stationed at Ft Myer in the late 60s--living on the old "South Post" where the cemetery has expanded. However, I retired from the Navy Reserve--it's a long story I won't go into here. My grandson is in the Navy, working at the Navy Yard and living on JBAB--hence the reason for our visit. We've done the Smithsonian several times and there is always something more to see. This year we're going to the Zoo, the Newseum, Arlington (again) and Fort Myer--including the nearby Iwo Jima Memorial. Two years ago we spent time on the Mall. In the old days I worked in the Munitions building where the Vietnam Memorial now stands. We also saw the WWII Memorial, the Korean War Memorial and the FDR site. They are amazing and since my GS will be stationed there for at least another five years we're looking to do more exploring each time we visit. The Metro System has been a godsend compared to when I was stationed there long ago.

RE: Best route between I-81 and Andrews AFB

Always appreciate suggestions from those who live where we're headed. We're familiar with the basic DC area but things have changed tremendously from when I was stationed there in the late 60s. I know enough to avoid rush hour at all costs but the other information is really helpful--especially when you're towing!
