RE: Survived my 1st week. = -)

hopefully it will get better as you go, beings nothing works in your camper maybe the gas isn't turned on, best thing for you to do is go to a RV dealer and have him show you how to get your rig ready to go, you need to go school on it,,,,,,,,,,Richard

RE: Campgrounds along the Mississippi in Missouri?

Terrible's Casino in LaGrange, MO has a small 8-site RV Park, but I don't know if it's right on the river. (The casino itself is a "riverboat" and right on the river, but I don't know where the RV park is in relation to it.) Their website says all sites have w/e. LaGrange is just off of US61, north of Quincy, IL but on the MO side. I have stayed in this camp ground all though it has been several years ago, the River boat or Casino is not on the river it is a building on a barge, and you have to cross the highway 61 and cross the railroad tracks to get to the river, the campground is a old Mobile home park and is about a block or so North of the Casino, it was very reasonable when we were their, take supply's with you as their was no stores open their, at the time we were their nothing but hookups were in the campground , it was clean and had gravel to park on, you had to go to the casino to put up a deposit to get a key to unlock the water and Electric hookups, at that time the rent was $5.00 a night and a $25.00 deposit on the key that is refunded when you leave after returning the key,,,,,

RE: Campgrounds along the Mississippi in Missouri?

DH and I are planning an extensive trip next summer/fall. For part of the trip we will be traveling from St Louis up to I80 in Iowa. If there is one, we would love to stop at a campground along the Mississippi River on the way. DH thinks it would be neat to have a cup of coffee in the morning, watching the sun come up over the river. This is something that is just on our "wish" list, and not a major requirement for the trip. Anybody know of such a campground? We have 2 dogs, so place must be pet-friendly. If there happens to be one near enough to St Louis that we can use it as a "base" for a couple of days while exploring St Louis, that would be perfect. But would definitely entertain other options. I normally don't reveal my camping places but if you are coming up the River on hwy 79 about 2 to 3 miles North of Clarksville is a Core of Engineers park you can camp right on the River, it is called silo park take turnoff to right and cross railroad tracks and drive down to river and park in the parking area, no hookups but it is all free, hope you enjoy it as much as we do, you can fish right off the bank their, on up the river south of Keokuk at Canton Missouri is a rv park on the river down town on the river bank their is a charge for it also has hookups, enjoy Missouri ,,,,,,Richard

RE: Where should the water go...

My Tub will fill up with water when that happens only did it once from then on I watched for it to get full it takes one time to learn that it can overflow, water is going to back up in the drain pipes when that happens, a fan and maybe a electric heater can help dry it out, it will take a few days to get it taken care of, good luck

RE: 7.3 power stroke

Thank you guys, I knew you would come threw for me, my old 6.9 is dollaring me to death, no problems with the motor just ever thing else keep thinking that someday it will all be fixed, then some other thing will fail, anyway at 275,000 I am about to give up, so am looking for a late model 7.3 Diesel and wanted to know what year to look for, as wanting a late model I think, Richard

RE: Microwave broke, do i need a special one to replace it with?

You have to find one the same size that will fit in the cabinet, it will plug in on the back side and held in with a metal clip in back and 2 screws in the front, they are much harder to get out than putting back, mine quit one time and the fuse in it had blew replaced that and was fine, that was 8 years ago,

RE: No Fresh Water ByPass Valve for Winterizing

I just take the water line off at the water pump that goes to the fresh water tank and have a short piece of garden hose the same size I put on the pump and run it outside of the camper into a gallon bottle of RV antifreeze and start pumping all the lines full, when done I hook the lines back like they were, do it ever Fall, guess I could get a bypass valve but I never think about it when I am at my dealer,

RE: Parking Brake assembly

That sounds like way to much money I had my parking brakes cable replaced on my f-250 pickup and it was under 200 dollars, their is a spring on the brake cable that all came in one piece, had the local garage install it wasn't a big job, I would get another opinion if I was you, Richard

RE: Radiator Question-need advice please

You not knowing where the leak is , it can be other things beside a Radiator, on a Ford block the freeze plugs are a candidate to leak, the water pump can leak, their may be a freeze plug in the back housing that can leak, it could be a head gasket bad, you need some one to take a close look at the motor, not just jump in and replace the radiator, unless you see a leak coming from their, and Bars leak on a radiator will work, you need to get it inspected I would say,

RE: Help identify my hitch please

Rise the little handle up and turn it around to the other side of the flat plate and it unhooks the king pin, have it in that position when you hook up and it will flip around to the locked position again when you back the pin in the hitch then lock the little lever back down, Thanks for that info. I did raise the little handle. It looks like there should be a bar or something that goes inside the handle. after raising the little handle up crank it around Counter clock wise that unhooks your pin on your Fifthwheel, have it in that same position when hooking back up and the little handel and crank will snap to the front side again and then lock the little handle down again

RE: Help identify my hitch please

My new 1999 F350 came with a 5th wheel hitch. I see no label of any kind and I'm hoping someone here knows what type of hitch this is. I'd like to find out as much as I can about it. I do not see a release handle anywhere, so I really need to learn more about this hitch. I have some photos of it HERE. Thanks Rise the little handle up and turn it around to the other side of the flat plate and it unhooks the king pin, have it in that position when you hook up and it will flip around to the locked position again when you back the pin in the hitch then lock the little lever back down,
