RE: front hitch and weight question

Worked out most of the weight questions - thats after getting weighted @ escapee's in Livingston Tx.
Next big problem is that the bike is 30 inches wide and 54 inches height(fairing/front apron) which seems high and wide to me and don't know if bike carrier (center line) would be to close to front, and height would block my view! Talked to hitch people they said hitch pin hole is 1 to 2 inches back under bumper and bike carrier people said center would 25 inches to center line from hitch pin hole.
Don't what to buy all these items (bike, front hitch, and carrier) when not sure if it's going to work.
From these number what do you think?

This is a typical simplified diagram of your trailer water system - Might help get you orientated...

so there's that one valve between the tank and the pump.
Still can't find that valve will have to open low point drain?

RE: onboard fresh h2o tank

Opend the valve at the pickup tube and water sputtered run a bit (30 sec) and then nothing. Looked for any valve inline but the line becomes hidden under the floor.

onboard fresh h2o tank

Question about using fresh water tank! After all these years of camping never used onboard water tank. Towed empty.
Well Now I have the tank filled and have the clorox in to sanitize, I can't seem to get water to run through the faucets! I turned pump on at control center and I heard it run but no water! By the way I looked and it the same surflow pump that I have use to winterize the trailer.
Any help would be appreciated

RE: life style fifth wheel

No, it's a double stacked boxed frame fabricated on location, just like Carriage did.... No other frame compares, IMHO.
Have you compared it to New Horizons or DRV frames? The Lifestyle site says a 12" double stacked frame. Is that better than a 15" triple stacked frame? Or a 17" frame like NH? What is the tubing sidewall thickness? Excel uses a 10" box tube frame but with 1/4" sidewalls on the tubing. Others only use 11 gauge thickness. I think there are many frames that compare or exceed the Lifestyle frame.
There is always someone somewhere that has to take a post one step higher. No wonder people post once here and never come back.
Just to clariify for you, I was stating that "construction style" is the strongest frame in the RV business, not specifically just the Lifestyles banded frame.
Go take a breathe.
Your comment was that "no other frame compares". You used an absolute. Now you know you were wrong or ignorant of the other mfgs.
I don't care if you have your feelings hurt but don't pass on bogus information. People need to weigh all the options when buying a fiver and by you saying what you did does them a disservice.
I tend to agree. What might have been suggested would be OK if you stated "IMO" not the absolute. Some people come here to get information.

RE: Picked It Up Yesterday!!

We are Creek'ers and love ours! Good bang for the buck. Some minor issues with ours like needing to replace a string on a day/night blind, light bulb ... Thats after about 3 thousand miles and spending the winter in it.

RE: FL's Sandpiper vs. Montana vs. Cedar Creek

We really appreciate everyone responding to our question. It came down to the Cedar Creek and the Montana. The deciding factor has been the dealers in our area. We feel that the Montana dealer is for us after talking to others that have had dealings with them, as opposed to the Cedar Creek dealer. So we have signed a contract on the Montana 3750fl through Tacoma RV. Time will tell of course on how we did, but a big thank you to everyone.

Good luck and safe travels.

RE: FL's Sandpiper vs. Montana vs. Cedar Creek

As I see it; Cedar Creek and Montana on top. Sandpiper is a step or two below the other units.
Now the head to head between CC and Montana.
First they both are two good trailers! That being said I don't like OSB and Montana uses it. I like a hung wall and screwed and glued wall frame and Cedar Creek have those. Another thing that I like is a full door with no glass in it. Also a Cedar Creek item. Sometimes Cedar Creek takes a year or two off in updating the styling but build is solid! Montana has a sister brand the Alpine it has the same build as the Montana but I like it's interior styling better!
Everything I said can be argued by Montana owners!
Yes, I can make an argument , but these kind of threads never prove a point one way or the other. You have made some points, I could do the same, but at the end of the day they really prove nothing. I could have bought either one it was my choice, I chose the Montana, actually now I have owned two of them. They both have treated me well the previous one, and the present one. I don't know anything about the points you made, and like I said these threads really do not prove much anyway. Never gave any thought to glass in the door or not, nor is it a concern to me that Montana uses OSB, or if the walls are constructed a certain way. I do know the walls have not fallen apart, and I have to assume the OSB is behaving itself. If these things or lack of it make the Cedar Creek better so be it.
I agree with everthing you say, and again it turns out to be a personal preference, and I did say both are good trailers.

I received a good deal for a tailgater for 199.00. Best deal going- will save you abt $150.00 I found this one sub-contractor in Jacksonville Florida an did it over the net and fedex. Told the salesman that I'm so please that I will inform anyone asking.
If you do a search in this full-time forum; Direct or Dish you can follow my (and others) progression and get any info needed if you want to purchase.

If you have a smart phone, the Allstays app provides lots of info on RV parks (public and private), state and national parks, Walmarts, rest areas, stores, restaurants, fuel, low clearances, etc.

fulltime units?

I always see the topic of full-time 5th wheels but don't see that topic for class A's.
1)List what qualities make a fulltime class A.
2)List the top 3-5 class A units

RE: Benson, AZ?

We're there right now. Weather was a little cold but it sounds like it is anywhere in AZ this Winter. Cochese Terrace has been a wonderful place to stay. Don't know about the owner, never met him, but the staff is fantastic! We'll come back next year for sure. Lots of things to do both at the RV park and in the surrounding area without the traffic in the Tucson area. Every RV experience should be this good. JMHO
B.O.
Do you think the cool temps through-out AZ are the equalizer or that Benson is close most seasons?

Benson, AZ?

Is Benson a snowbird destination? Looked at the terrain and the RV park (Cochise Terrace)I was looking is at @4000 ft and that seems way to high? Texas is were I'm at now but thinking about heading to AZ next year.

RE: About Full-Time Rving

Some people say don't sell the house; I have a different opinion, get rid of the house - nothing to go back to changes your thought process! Just be sure you have an exit strategy!
Our is very simple, as we don't want another house. We don't want the upkeep,so when we come off the road we'll go to a apartment or a continuing care community if we can afford it. The buy-in for a CCC can be steep.

RE: DRV Tradition

Took a few walks thru a Tradition 360RSS at the Milwaukee show today. While there no confusing it for the higher end Mobile Suites, it's clearly related and certainly scores high in the Pinnicle, Cedar Creek, Montana category.
And trailer weight was reported to be 11,850 with a pin weight of 2875
X2 on par-with the upper mid level unit you listed.
