RE: Goodyear Marathons Made in China?

Maxxis are, I'm sure, fine tires. I had them on a boat trailer (boat and trailer weight about 3500 lbs) and had a problem with both of them with tread separation. I have read so much about the "China bombs" being made by many different manufacturers. My experience: On the last 3 campers I have owned, ( 2 TT's and one Fifth wheel) I had Goodyear Marathons on each of them for about 4 years before trading trailers. My current trailer is the 3rd of them with Goodyear Marathons (entering the 5th year now) and I have had absolutely zero problems with any of them. Explain that to me please.

RE: ANTENNA TEK

Have you tried it to see "if it is any good"? Seems they all work a little different, some better than others in same brand. Just try it and see.

RE: Im so excited, Walmart wants me to have their credit card!

I know this is slightly off the OP topic, but if you buy a WM gift card in the store, then use it to purchase your gas at WM pumps you save 10 cents per gallon.
I know several people that do just that all the time.

RE: Electric anode for LP water heater?

Check it out really good. A Motor Homes as new as your should probably already have the gas/electric option via a simple switch. Have you looked for a switch?

RE: Need help finding/repairing a water leak and soft spots.

Sounds like you got a plan. By all means, find the leaks and stop them. You can see more about the floor when you start your work. Good luck.

RE: Trailer novice here, can you help me plug in my TT?

The yellow cord shown above is for connecting your camper directly to a 30 amp, 110 volt, power pedestal available at most campgrounds,(some pedestals also have a 50 amp plug, but you are not concerned with that.)With the 30 amp cord connected to a 30 amp pedestal you can run most everything in the camper at the same time. The black adapter cord shown above is for use when there is no 30 amp, 110 volt outlet available, like maybe at home. Using it you can connect to a regular 110 volt outlet, but do not expect to run everything in the camper at once (microwave, Air conditioning, hairdryer, etc.). Capiche?

RE: Truck camping on othe beach

You is you and Me is me, but personally I would never invest the kind of money you are talking about and then drive it on any beach. See the previously posted pics for worst case but to me all cases of vehicles and salty sand and salty air and salty water are taboo. I have seen many vehicles rot away over the years when living near the ocean. Sure, you can clean it, but you can clean your teeth too, but still pay the dentist office for professional cleaning and any vehicle on the beach will need professional cleaning often IMHO.

RE: Aliner running fridge while traveling?

If it is an absorption type fridge in A-liner that runs on propane like the one in the truck camper, then a fridge is a fridge is a fridge. I see no reason not to run the fridge in transit, though I never do. Mine will stay plenty cold for at least 5 hours in transit and I rarely travel over 4 hours at a time, so....

RE: Fridge not working help please

At that age, I would have it tested and if not just a control board, I would remove it and replace with a small residential type fridge. A new absorption fridge would be way to expensive unless the camper is a real gem IMHO.

RE: Now this is some serious toad haulin'!!

There is a guy up the road from me that has one of those.. BUT... the Jeep goes on top and the boat goes on the bottom. Looks really weird but the boat is bigger than the Jeep. I will try to snap a pic next time I see it loaded up.
