Dirtclods, it was the Poker run in Barstow that i was talking about. I could not remember if it was a race or poker run. I knew it was somewhere near 4 corners.

RE: Hwy 58/ 4 -corners ATV-UTV ride ????? S/Cal

I know it started at some resturant 20 miles from 4 corners, went toward 4 corners, then came back...Dont know if it was a poker run or charity run. Always wanted to go,and was going to try. I think it happened in the fall each year??

Hwy 58/ 4 -corners ATV-UTV ride ????? S/Cal

I for some reason cannot find the link I had to a annual race held in the barstow desert area that started at a resturant and went towards 4 corners, then returned. A 2 day sat.sun event? Does anybody recall this or is it no go anymore??? Thanks.

RE: Be Safe Out There - Roll over in AZ

I was E/B I-40 in Cali desert area a few years ago and saw a Dodge dually QC flipped on its roof by a bumper pull trailer. The trailer had the Dually pinned up ward in the air. Trailer was max 30'..I'm now in the "push the envelope" club as I downsized to a 2500 RAM 4x4 CC etc.from a dually You'll see me no faster then 65 on any Az freeway and much slower S/B on I-17 in the "goof ball" area between sunset point and Black Canyon city. This area of I-17 is CRAZY on Sundays in the summer with RV's BLASTING downhill like snow skier's...

RE: Toy Hauler Ramp

Suz530, I made one, but did not know at the time about racer ramps..I'll take a pic of mine and try to post it. It can be made of 5/8 plywood to lessen the weight etc.

RE: Toy Hauler Ramp

After I flipped the axles on my TH, I could not get my Ultra HD in without dragging the frame at the top of the ramp. I made a wooden ramp similar to the race ramps to the dimensions needed with one sheet of 3/4 plywood and a couple 8' 2x4's. I cut the 2x4's in half as backers along the edges to help stiffen the plywood ramp. Came out good, a little heavy , but it works. I made my ramp wide enough to put my feet down if needed when bringing the M/C up the ramp. 36"W x 48" long. no pics but it raised the ramp plenty high so the M/C rolls right in.

RE: Another XLR or not?

My unit when new was in the shop for 4 out of the first 6 months I owned it. I will say, FR went FAR beyond what I have heard other manufacturers go. They spent a bucket load of $ and then took it back to the factory in Rialto,Ca to fix it..I know the warranty manager then was GREAT, but the new guy won't even answer the messages I have left. That has me concerned about buying a 380 AMP that I'd like to buy.

RE: New Polaris RZR ?

So they want you to wear a seat belt, wear a helmet, and supervize your kids when you are rideing? OMG! how horrible is that?! The reason there is a law making you do this is because some where some place some moron used a SxS for a baby sitter. Some one got hurt and then some one sued instead of taking responsibilty for their actions. happens all the time. I come from a strictly 2 wheel background. I wear all the gear all the time. I really don't see why a helmet and a seatbelt is so bad. What I do see as bad is the fact that the state feels it needs to step in and make a law so that you will do it. You should already be doing it. You guys would nut out if you had to ride here. Most all rideing is on private property and there are rules you have to go by. Like wear a helmet. Some places SxS are not allowed. Some trails are motorcycle only. Believe me when I say, I have dealt with my share of "Morons" while I was a LEO. I lived in Ca for 45 years,1960-2005, during the time it was a real "Golden State" all the way up to it turning into a nanny state when even as a Cop, I was having difficulty keeping up with the tidal wave of legal updates, amendments, case law blah blah that the "legislature" was churning out like butter.. Most if not 95% of the "new" laws were not aimed at those who abused the "common sense/good judgement" rule, but to the majority of good common sense people.. For the few who screw up, they penalize ALL rather then those that create the problem. My beef is with the "nanny state" that Cali has become. I have no problem wearing a helmet when needed. In my SxS, I have never worn one nor will I as I don't ride to the extreme and know my machines limitations and my own.Seat belt is ALWAYS on. I treat it like the 4 wheel motor vehicle it is.( Been down the road over 100+MPH one handed, on the radio calling out speeds, cars, directions etc.you learn quick about limitations) Under 18, I agree helmets should be worn on M/C's etc. over 18, it should be a choice as you no longer have to call Mommy when you get in trouble and hopefully your parents pneumatically injected some common sense in-between the off-springs ears... Private property is just that. You submit yourself to the owners rule. Whats in question here is all so called public land, owned by the people, or so they say. Also the underhanded way in which the cali Legislature goes about regulating the law abiding with no input for those effected, and passing laws under the guise of something else entirely. Now what I would have liked to have seen was some "legislation" penalizing those that are wreckless and dont use common sense when riding. Thats why I enjoy Arizona as I do. They even have a "stupid motorist" law for those that drive into running washes( rivers created by rain runoff)rather then penalizing all for a few. Sorry for the rant. My heart aches for for former home state as it slips into the abyss of politics run amok.....

RE: New Polaris RZR ?

As a former Police officer in the Peoples Republic, the bill hems you into a corner very well as all Ca's laws against its law abiding do.( No more Glamis or any other place to 4x4 with the OHV for me in Ca!=Less tax revenue, fuel monies etc etc...Pretty smart for a broke state) 38600. RE: S.O.S. - Rotting Sub floor - Keystone Raptor

On my Toy haulers, I found if you stand inside with a flashlight, have someone spray the door area with a hose, it will show a lot. On mine, I was amazed how much water came inside past the door/ramp gasket.....

RE: Pulling Hills: Torque vs. Horsepower

Let me give all y'all something to argue about. The H3 HUMMER has 249 HP and 252 Trq. Why is this particular 5 cylinder Hummer such a low power DOG????? Getting on the freeway reminds me of the "Flintstones" and why I should be putting my feet out under the vehicle to help this poor thing get going.... The wife loves it, but I'll take my 2012 Dodge 3500 max tow QC 4x4, every 4K oil change, 13MPG Dodge, oops, sorry,,,, RAM truck.. over it..:)

RE: Proper direction of spring shackles?

I'm no suspension expert, but it looks like you need taller equalizers. Mine are 3-4", the leaf holes are 3-4" lower then the equalizer bolt hole. Your leafs are hitting the frame and should not do that as far as I know.... We have Auto Safety house (ASH)in Phoenix which has everything you can imagine for trailer suspensions, or they can get it.You should have someone up there ( I'm a N/Cal native 45 years) who has what you need.
