RE: RGV Utilities Cost

Our park charged .15 perKWH last year. Our average bill was $40+. Refer on elec, WH on gas, very very little A/C. As you can tell, a lot depends on you.

RE: Strange occurrence

If all else fails, you can just unplug the harness. It's the two wire one. Jacks will operate normally, but you MUST verify that they are retracted by visual inspection before moving the coach.

RE: Slideout Problem !!!

I had trouble once with my slide. Mine had trouble going out or in. Believe it or not, it was the bearings in the slide topper awning. The reason I'm telling you this is that you stated it looks like it's dragging on top.

RE: water filter

Thanks for the help. We buy our drinking water at the campground but I don't like what it does to coach. Will check on the answers received.

Anyone know of a good filter for the high salt in the RGV? We've been looking and haven't found anything yet. Thanks Cam

RE: need help with power gear jack

Anybody in the area that works on hydraulics can fix these.Check yellow pages. I had mine done by a local shop with no problems.

RE: Older rubber roof

There is an excellent article about replacing a rubber roof in this months (june'09) Motor Home magazine. After reading it you'll know wether you can do this or not. I wouldn't...

RE: Snowbirds in RGV need your help

We've at Tropic Star in Pharr, nice park and sites aren't too bad. It's a Wilder Park and one of the other in Pharr is Texas Trails, much bigger sites , lots of activities in both.

RE: Country Coach Files for Involuntary Bankruptcy

Actually, if I remember correctly, Wells Fargo was one of a small number of banks that DID NOT WANT OR NEED bailout money. The Fed MADE them all take bailout money to prevent "runs" on the ones that did need it. As bad as this situation is,can you imagine what would have happened if they were not all treated the same by the FED.??

air bag valve replacement

Hoping I can "go to school" on all the mechanics out there.
Seems I have a leaking valve on my pass side front airbag.I had it diagnosed at a repair shop on the road. I'm now wintering in Texas and wondering if replacing that valve is something a novice could do. I'm fairly handy with tools, but, didn't bring many along.
I also had my dash blower motor quit working. Checked the fuses, but all were good. No loose wires either.
Any help anyone can offer me would be appreciated.

RE: rubber issues

I had 6 Michelin 235x22.5's installed last year, out the door for 1800.00. The date code on the tires was the previous month. It pays to shop around. Oh, probably not convenient for most people, but it was a dealer in Dubuque, Iowa.

RE: Wisconsin to Tx. on I-35, any cities to bypass?

Elmer,
Good idea,,,except there really is no way that I know of to bypass any of the cities without going miles & miles out of the way, & then you never know what you're gonna find anyway. We are also leaving from Wisconsin right after Xmas. Where are you from & where are you going?? We.re from near Prairie Du Chien, going to Pharr, Tx.
