RE: Problems for Alaskan resident buying an RV in California?

Not to sound alarming but if he sends money first and to much its a fake deal and stay away from it I had one from NY and the postal money orders were fraudulent, so watch out. If he is there in person with cash go for it and have papers notarized saying he bought from you and on what date. Good luck with it.

July 4th

Is there any group gathering for the 4th of July somewhere in So Cal? Does any one know of a campground that is good for fireworks in So Cal area?

RE: Need a fix it idea

Thanks to all so far that have responded, they (where the wires go in) look like they are black plastic sealed with something like components in your car that are sealed with wires coming out. I will try the seal stuff. Thanks again you guy are as always great. Scott

Need a fix it idea

Sorry no pics, but my gray water was leaking this last weekend and seems to be where the wires come out for the control panel. Although it looks sealed it must not be. Any suggestions for resealing them with out to much hassle?

RE: rear hitch basket - pictures any ?

I had a receiver put on the back of my camper and got one of those racks like you see a Harbor Freight and Tools, loaded it with stuff and off down the road I went and in about 10 miles it was dragging big time, chp pulled me over and had to remove it, Oh well. So make sure its secure and up high enough and will not change the angle of your trailer to make it unsafe.

RE: RV Park Costs on East Coast

Wow out here in CA a mom and pop place is $45+ a night in the boonies. Even the state and county places are $35+ a night with nothing but a place to park and a picnic table. Most I ever paid was $75 a night close to the beach, wow that was high and that was mainly a parking lot with hook ups.

RE: My little trailer

As the questions about the sewer hose on my terry, I have an extra hose in the bumper and use a long screw to hold it in as I have lost an end cap and hose to the bumper holder before. I put my main hose in the compartment on the left side (from the back) with other outside stuff.

RE: How many of you like live in your RV?

I have read all the post on these pages and I find it interesting what some think of my question and me. I am still a working stiff and currently on light duty due to a bad knee and as a mailman that is important to have a working knee. When I can deliver mail I walk 12+ miles a day so I am outside a lot. When home I am on then out side on then out side back and forth, can't over do the knee as it will blow up like a ballon. Just so you all know there was no wrong answer just wondering, I am a people watcher and enjoy seeing what people do and when I go camping I am one of those guys that will walk the campgrounds and talk to others and see what others do, how they camp and get to know them, I enjoy people. I have had times when I have stopped to comment on this or that or say how nice a trailer or MH looks and ended up talking for hours. Learned some tips to use and parted some to others. Have ended up helping someone with something I knew about or just they need another hand that there DW could not help with and they were shy about asking a fellow camper for help. So I guess it was my natural curiosity to seeing someone park, set up and disappear inside. I guess you would say I am either the guy you don't want to talk too because we might bend each others ear or you would look fwd to meeting me as we may have something to share. I will tell you all this, I DON'T KNOW IT ALL!

RE: How many of you like live in your RV?

Mockturthle, Ya I guess I am kinda a busy body on this one, just see it as a waste of time and money for gas. To be in such a beautiful place and stay inside for 2 days. I know to each there own.

How many of you like live in your RV?

I was wondering how many of you like live in your RV (trailer)? The reason I ask is all the room some people seem to need for camping. I have a small trailer says 19ft but the box is only 16.6 ft. and its mainly for sleeping and storing stuff and the rest room. We try to cook out side and hang out side not inside. Seen one family came in on a Friday and parked, hooked up ran inside and did not see them till Sunday morning as the husband came out unhooked everything and they left, is that camping? Why bother? Hate to sound judgmental but is that camping? And no it was not hot or cold about 65 at night and 75-80 during the day and parked under shade trees. Place had 3 pools and 3 fishing ponds and lots more. Help me understand.

RE: going camping

Here in So Cal, we don't winterize our rigs when most of us only see a cold of say 39 for a few hours 2 or 3 times a winter. Schedules and time are more the problem then the weather here. I did make it out to sunny Doheny Beach, Ca (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qn4SkHrj0Jg) a wonderful weekend, temps in the 70 during the day and 40's at night. Missing this month remember schedules! But next month we are joining an RV.net group for a camping trip. And so goes the season.

My little trailer

My little 19L Terry travel trailer, changed out the bed/couch for a queen (rv size) bed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgVhn6JAh6U If find it you may find other video's I have made on some of my travels and places I have camped. Since its hard to find video's of places that show what they are like before I go there I decided to make one each time to try for other campers. Tired of videos that say camping at such and such place and all they show is there campsite and not much more. So please if you can each time you go camping please do the same so others may know what to expect when they go to the place you enjoyed. Thanks. Scott

RE: What Did You Do For Your Travel Trailer Recently?

Got 4 more LED lights to replace the others. Got new stands for the corners instead of the pull down stabilizers. And a new grill for cooking over a fire.

RE: Backup Camera

I got the Iball unit and love it, about $150 and works great. Tried the mirror and the poles with like tennis balls and they are ok but the back up camera is great.
