Thank you I bought the dish and tripod off a satalite contract installer, not the direct tv guy but a private installer out of the phonebook. Yes the dish was used, but they are a dime a dozen around craigs list. Or just ask a friend or family member. I can think of three dishs I could go pull off a house from friends right now.
As for local channels I get mine up to about 400 miles away then I lose network channels, No big deal I still have 300 and something to choose from. we dont use the tv to much but nice right before bed, or for my PBR or NASCAR.

RE: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?
Sprayed pesticide around the outside and the inside to keep the creepy crawlies at bay. Tuned the sat dish in to keep it updated. Sat around dreaming of next week pig hunting trip.

(2) 50' coaxial cable $20
Get the wife to go out in the rain to tune it in PRICELESS:B:B

"Boondocking" is camping. . .away from city lights, commercial buildings or other elements of civilization.
"Dry camping" is RV'ing in a spot without using hookups.
The confusion comes from misuse of those terms.

This is what I use with my truck and camper and boat. It is a bumper mount and the stock wires on my 2500 hd just pluged into it and I have a extention for my camper. I can tow my boat and use camper. I allso like that I can disconect camper easily so I cant draw on truck battery over night. Yes I know I can put a isolater in but this works well

Try using a few bounce fabric softener sheets damp. They work awesome on bug removal never tried on tar but I bet they work.

Last year at Knottsberry farm they did not charge us as a RV because we could fit in one spot. If I run into a problem I just point out that DMV dose not recognize it as RV how could they. We were staying with friends at there condo and the HOA tried to make us move and fine our friends. We just pointed that DMV did not consider us one and they would have to make all trucks with a camper shell on it move to, and we were willing to let the police decide if we were a RV. We won the disagreement. Without the police.

Same as others I have 07 2500 stock and pull a boat in CA mtns. plenty of power to spare I wanted to be able to load the camper and the boat and still be able to speed climbing donner summit it dose it well(but I would never speed) It passed my test.
