RE: 50 amp to 30 amp at campsite

Yes, I do it all the time. Just don't run more than one A/C, Microwave or coffee pot at the same time.

RE: Location of hydraulic fluid for levelers

On my Gulf Stream, the reservoir is located on the coach frame rail in front of the drivers side wheel well. My unit is a Class A and as I do not know what your Coachman is it might not be of much help. As stated earlier, have someone operate the levelers while you are out side listening for the pump. If all else fails you could try contacting Coachman, I believe they survived the recession and could help you. Gulf Stream is another matter for older units.

RE: whats this stuff

Word of caution here. above he said use a putty knife. you can use a PLASTIC putty knife. NEVER use a metal putty knife to scrape off the old sealant. you will wind up with a hole in the rubber roof and then you have a real problem to deal with.
That is wrong, I have used a Metal Putty Knife for years. You have to make sure of two things first. 1) make sure you use a flexible Knife. 2) make sure you round off the two corners of the knife with a grinder or file. It also helps if you use a low wattage Heat Gun to soften up the crap. I would get rid of the Dicor, Remove the screws and clean up under the ladder mount and reseal with Eterna-Bond Double Sided Tape. and then just cover every thing up with the regular Eterna-Bond tape. You will never have to touch it again.
When I did mine, I found out my Screws were Rusted away to almost nothing. I removed my Ladder totally, used Get Rot to repair the Screw Holes and then reinstalled Stainless Steel Screws of the largest size I could fit through the ladder mount. I used the Eterna-Bond products as stated above. Oh I also used Acetone to clean up before resealing. Good Luck, Mine looked better than what you show and I still had to do repairs. Ed

RE: Vinyl plank flooring

I did not know Lowes had the Allure type flooring, I though it was a Home Depot exclusive product.
I installed it in my coach, but I used the click together version. I am having to re-install it this spring because the unheated coach in the cold weather has caused it to pull apart length wise. I am going to supper glue the narrow ends into one long plank and reinstall it. The sections I did that to last year have held together. I just did not go far enough. That mistake will not be repeated this time.

RE: Storing diesel pusher for over 3 months

If you have Solar Panels and live in SNOW country, you will have to keep the snow off if you want them to keep the batteries charged. As stated earlier, If you have a three stage battery charger in your converter or an Inverter with a three stage battery charger, keep it plugged in.

Oh well, Ikea is about 150 miles from here. If I ever remember to look them up when I go down State, I will be golden. Thanks anyway. Ed

RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

I just purchased a lap/bed tray with removable legs that fits exactly over the sink (without the legs). I'm not sure if it will be useful yet, or just in the way. I really wanted a flip up counter, but I don't have enough room anywhere near the kitchen area to install one.

Where did you get this type of table? Might be interested if the price is not to high. Thank you, Ed

RE: Dumping Rear Aie

On my coach the Rear Airbags would not dump last year. I crawled under the coach and found that Mud Dobbers had built a nest in the exhaust port blocking the air discharge. Poking a small screwdriver broke up the mud and got rid of the Grub that was in the nest. They worked for the rest of the year. I am trying to come up with some way to exclude them.

RE: Spartan gas chassis??

I have a 34' DP and do not find any problems in handling. I enjoy the driving peace and quiet and would be hard pushed to go to anything with the engine any where near the drivers position. As for service the places I have to have the engine serviced the mechanics used disposable foot covers or layed paper runners down. Heck my wife said I caused more problems when I work on my drive train.

Last Pass for us. They have both a free version and a paid version. I use the Pro version because it supports Yubikey by Yubico.

RE: Replacing Headlights

My 1995 Scenic Cruiser headlights are from a 1990 Audi Quatro according to Hella after I E-Mailed them pictures to them. I do believe Gulf Stream used these head lights for several model years. Good luck on the replacement job. It is on my to do list also.

RE: Burping septic tank

First off, I do not believe that the "vent valves" are ever used on the black tank system, as if they failed you would get the odor into RV. Also there is no need for them on the black tank, as their purpose is to keep water from getting sucked out of the 'P' trap when a sink drains
My bath room Vanity Sink drains to the Black Water Tank and has the Air Admittance Valve on its drain line so this is on the Black Tank. How do I know the sink is on the Black Tank, I over flowed the Toilet trying to drain the freshly treated Potable Water Tank into the Park sewer the day we picked it up from the dealer. That carpet is now long gone and replaced with a single sheet of vinyl.

RE: No propane to anything

Also those of us who have CCI 7719 Detectors, the solenoid valve is NOT 12 volts, it is a lot less. If I remember right, some where around 3-4 volts when I looked at the tag on the valve. If you replace the CCI system with another, you have to replace the Solenoid valve also or you will burn it up. I am just waiting for mine to fail some day. So far it will detect propane from my propane torch so I will continue to trust it.

RE: Synthetic Oil

I change my coach and pickup only when directed by the Lab Reports I get every year. Pick-up had first oil change this spring, I purchased it in October of 06 and the Motor Home also this spring, The PU had 17,000+ miles on the Oil and I do not know what the Motor Home had on it as that was the Oil that came with it. I am getting ready to draw the first sample this week end on the Motor Home with just over 300 miles on it this year. I will not draw the Pick-up as it has less than 30 miles since the change. I do not use it as much since we purchased the Motor Home. I will probably sample it next spring after the winter season is over. We use the 4 wheel drive when the car can not make it to work due to snow. I do change the car every 5000 miles just because the oil is cheaper than the testing for the daily driver.

RE: Motorhome Inspection in North Carolina

When I was stationed in Norfolk, Va, My wife took our car in to be inspected. When she got home she pulled into the drive way and tried to put on the brakes. No brakes, the Master Cylinder had failed. When the ship got back into port, I removed the part and I could see where the brake fluid had been leaking for quite a while. The inspectors never saw it. So much for safe vehicles by mandatory inspections.

RE: Confused on LEDS

Saving Battery power while boon docking is my goal. Also less heat given off when using the A/C. I will not change them all at once, just a few at a time.
