you could always put a sticker on your vehicle advertising bio-diesel or veggie oil powered.
most people won't touch a rig using alternate fuels especially if they think all they will get is filtered used cooking oil.

x2 on using tow/haul mode.. also if it still shifts allot. just manually drop it down one gear from the one it shifts down from… (as some transmissions drop two gears under load). that way you won't build up extra heat and wear from the extra shifting… this will let your engine run easier..thus getting better mpg and less wear…

i tried them on my mega cab 1 ton. at the back of the bed on the bed cover. i have a improvement. but when installed at the back of the cab. i got a decrease in mpg… factory wind tunnel body shaping must be the difference as having a open bed or covered bed didn't make any difference using the cab tabs. but the bed covered plus tabs, worked..
did't put any on the trailers due to planned exchange of units..

since forest river bought coachman trailer manufacturing division the quality has improved dramatically. as a former coachman repair/service tech. the changes have been welcomed..
i would currently rate the units equal with minor differences.
jayco quality has dropped during this economic slowdown. hopefully they will return to their former higher standards and regain their higher standing…
so currently the colors and floor plan would be what would make my choice..

only time i've had problems is after i bought a new set of tires and rims… upgrading the load capacity of the tires… the new rims were not rated for the additional air pressure and they started splitting.. causing the tires to run low and get destroyed… thank you blythe, ca. goodyear….
i made it into goodyear,az. just west of phonix, az. to replace the four brand new tires and rims.. luckily i had my old rims with me… less than 150 miles and $600.00 down the drain...

front tire wear is common occurrence when towing 4 down. just wanted the poster to realize that he will see more than normal tire wear.
the wear is caused by the tire reacting to the forces of cornering, instead of pointing the car to turn..as is the norm for when driving a vehicle..
i had an anniversary edition, black with blue pearl in the first layer of clear coat. it had the wood grain dash/ect and tan leather seats, tan top. only wish it would of had the hard window in the top like the newer ones have.. had the bbs wheels, the originals were 14"s, i put 15"s on it for a better tire profile..mazda is very proud of those wheels… i had to replace a couple of the 14"s …(sticker shock)…so that's when i put the 15"s on the car…
i had to sell it due to my defective body mechanics (joints)..

check for a battery disconnect switch also check to see if the charger is plugged in or you don't have a blown fuse…
if you have a battery disconnect switch, it should be near the batteries..
your fuse panel should be near the charger unit… the charge unit may have a fuse inside a access panel. usually a real pain to get to on most vehicles.

you will probably see excessive front tire wear on the miata along with a lot of road rash on the front paint… unless you use a thick front protector.. including the windshield..
save the car and put it on or in a trailer.

the throttle linkage pivot joints are a common wear item. as lube shops fail to give them a squirt of lube during regular services. just like they fail to lube door hinges..
motor mounts are a bit more rare, but are a service item. usually over 150,000 miles or 10 + years.
the injection pump is very reliable and shouldn't need any service unless damaged by poor fuel quality or external impact. the fuel shutoff valve may be sticking and is a common issue. you may have a wiring harness issue causing a current interruption upon shifting into reverse or stopping. that would make sense. as i've heard of a few defective wiring harnesses in the last few years. my truck being one of them..

if you had a residence in oregon, you could possibly acquire a traveler license. with that you could purchase vehicles. but if you have a residence in another state, when your home state finds out. you will get taxed and fined. as oregon has an agreement with other states to forward vehicle registration information..
a method you may want to check into, if you have family or friends who live in oregon. that you can use their address for a state residence requirement..

you may have worn throttle linkage pivot joints (and possible worn engine mount bushings) the throttle linkage could be sticking and holding the throttle open a little when idling. but in reverse the engine mounts shift a little due to torque. letting the throttle to close more. causing the engine to die..
check the engine mounts and throttle linkage bushings..

5,000 miles if i have lots of short runs. 7,500-10,000 miles highway (loaded or empty) when-ever the overhead tells me to do it or once a year, whichever comes first… synthetic oil… probably over kill.
i forgot to mention that i use the stratapore dual filter media. they are like a full flow and bypass filter in the same can..

make some cloth covers. velcro half on one side. slip it over the wiper, fasten the velcro and the wiper is inside the cloth sock/cover.
if you use white denim they will last several seasons..
the piece of cloth would be a bit over double the width of the wiper from the arm to the windshield, with half of it about 1 inch wider on both sides and a bit more than the length of the wiper blade. fold in half, sew both ends and half way on the thin side to the tip of the wider flaps. fold a seam on the flaps to keep the fabric from fraying. sew velco on opposing sides. one side fuzzy the other with the hooks. when finished the velcro flaps should have the same amount of space for the wiper blade as the sewed end.
i also use a piece of plastic wire tubing, with a split on the side. i slide it so that the wiper rubber is inside the plastic tube. to keep the edge of the wiper off the windshield. so that the blade doesn't get a memory of a angle, from laying on the windshield with the wiper arm spring pressure..

since you already have the gen set. and probably already made arrangements to keep it from walking away at night. you could cut a hole in the bed of the truck and have a muffler shop install a down pipe on the gen sets exhaust… that way all you would need to do is open or close the fuel tank vent as required for use or travel…
