RE: Baloon Fest in Albuquerque recommendations

We went to the balloon festival a couple of years ago and stayed at the High Desert RV Park. It's about 10 miles from the festival grounds but you can catch one of the shuttles to get there.

RE: Popping from 6-pt leveling

Trimble1 it is very common to pull the tires off the ground and it doesn't seem to hurt anything. We have had ours off the ground in several locations. We have also had the popping sounds but it seems worse when the temperatures change overnight.

RE: Finding a well-built rig

We are full timers in a Heartland Landmark. It is probably the best trailer that we've ever had. They are now rated as full time units and have a 2/5 year warranty. Not to mention outstanding customer service from Heartland. We use the Heartland Owners forum extensively for suggestions and help from other owners and the forum is monitored by the factory, so it's not unusual for a brand manager to reply. Good luck with your choice.

RE: which fifth wheel is better

I'd like to weigh in on this thread. First of all, if I am walking around in a campground at 6 AM, listening to furnaces, how will I know which one is struggling to keep up. They are simply either on or off, they don't strain or struggle as far as I know. Second, it was said that the four point hydraulic jack system is somehow superior to the 6 point. It seems to me that more is better, and the 6 point is an improvement. The 6 point system is the one offered on the Mobile Suite, so is their frame "soft"? Lastly, I am a full timer, living in my Landmark. I upgraded from a Bighorn that I had lived in for about two years. My vote is to go with whatever brand and floorplan that you like. For me and many others, it has been Heartland.

T Tucker, have you been in contact with Heartland? Their customer service has been great.

RE: KOA workcampers

We have stayed many times at KOA parks and will continue to do so. A couple of years ago we found a KOA convention with a seminar and open house for prospective workcampers so we attended. We were given the same info on the $35 fee for the online listing but decided against it. The website would have been an easy and convenient way to fine jobs but not worth the fee in our opinion. We have found many other jobs in the meantime without a fee.

RE: Upper-mid to high end level 5th wheel?

We've been living in our Landmark Grand Canyon for over a year and love it! Rated and warranted for full time use and the Heartland Owners forum and club unbeatable. The forum has a wealth of information and is free to join. The club offers a great value or many rallies and activities.

RE: DeMontrond RV Service

I have some friends that bought a VERY expensive motorhome from DeMondtron and after seeing the work done by their shop, I wouldn't let them put air in my tires!

RE: Washing the 5er without damaging decals

I've always used Dawn dishwashing soap and had good results. I've never seen a wax that actually lasted five years. I wash mine as needed and wax twice a year.

RE: Good size kitchen with 3 slides - any suggestions?

You might look at the Heartland Sundance models. There are several floorplans that should interest you there.

RE: A heartland this time

We began our Heartland ownership with a 2007 Bighorn 3055. We traded it for a larger 2009 3370RL Bighorn and traded that for an even larger Landmark Grand Canyon. I believe that we are done trading up for a good while. The GC has just about all the whistles and bells that we want.
