RE: Quality control issues-curiosity

A lot talk about the QC of MH manufactures, rightly so. However I believe a lot of the issues belong with the suppliers of components used by MH manufactures. Norcold and Dometic are good examples. Lets face it a lot of MH manufactures have to use the same suppliers, so have the same QC problems.

RE: Driver side wiper Goes too far to the left.

I also had the same problem on my two arm wiper. the mount inside the hood was loose. I placed the wiper in the correct place and applied a large amount of RV goop to the mount. So far it is working. Time will tell.

RE: The continuing saga of tire pressure...

My logic is to get the MH weighted and inflate the tires to the pressure the tire manufacture recommends. Has worked for me for 11 years and 80,000 miles.

RE: running DP's durining quiet hours

As I said in my post after being awakened 3 times I asked what the policy regarding running a DP before quiet hours were over a lot of campgrounds. Again over half of them said it violated the quiet hour rules. If this has got to be such an issue that it is effecting campground rules, I got to believe it is effecting more campers than just me. I do understand that a certain procedure must be followed starting a DP, having driven them. I just believe it could be done at 8 in the morning rather than 5 or 6 in most cases.

running DP's durining quiet hours

We having on the road a lot lately. We have been woke up three time by DP's running very early in the morning, during quiet hours. I know some people like to get an early start. However, I think it would be polite to the other campers to wait until quiet hours are over. As I said this happened 3 times. So I have been asking about quiet hours rules at campgrounds. Many more than half said the rules include not running a DP during quiet hours. To those of you who own a DP,I am sure your thoughtfulness would be appreciated in this matter.

RE: 2003 Winnebago

I had a 2004 Winnebago on the workhorse chassis. Rust around the trunk doors was a problem. Easily fixed with sandpaper and rust-o-em flat back paint. The workhorse is pretty much bullet proof. the trans is great!! No rain leaks, but like any other unit check for any signs of them. I was very pleased with my 2004. I spent a total of $204 on repairs in 6 years.

nags head nc to mertle beach sc

what do you recommend? US 64 back to I95, US 64 to US 17 or NC 12 to the ferry to cedar island then pick up US 17. Thanks

RE: What's More Accurate?

I am not surprised at this post. If fact I am surprised the tire monitoring systems and cheap, under $100, gauges are that accurate. I ran a pneumatics lab for many years. If you want a gauge to be accurate within 1 or 2 psig you are talking several hundred dollars. I am lucky that I can take my gauges back to the lab and have them checked to a national bureau of standards gauge.

RE: RV caravans

I have been on 7. Enjoyed them greatly. Got to see a lot of things we would have missed if we by our self. We would not have known about them. Be aware that some caravans require a CB radio.

RE: Satellite TV for Class A

I have a wingard roof mount and a carry out. It is easier to move the carry out than the MH if trees are problem.

RE: Gas Coaches and air compressors

Everyone keeps talking about the size of the tank. You do not need a tank!!! It is a waste of space, weight, and money. I have a single cylinder 125 psig 2 cfm compressor. no tank, about the same size as a loaf of bread. works great.
