RE: Superglide killed my inner child! Slider or Sidewinder?

I for one am happy SG owner. Mine is a 2007 model I use slip plate on it once when I am inspecting the hitch before the season and an occasional touch up. I have the under bed mount so my bed is open when the hitch is not in use. The hitch comes apart in multiple pieces for easier loading and unloading, I can do it myself but prefer to have help. The hitch has saved my cab and back window on several occasions where I have gotten into a spot that a manual slider would have been impossible to use without prior planning. There are some compromises with the SG as with all hitches, I am completely satisfied with my hitch and would buy another one.

RE: fueling station (pump) question

Call GPI I did to attempt to order parts. They sent me new gears and cover plate. As warranty and I am way out of warranty.

RE: Typical emergency road service?

GS tow company took 90 minutes after we said we didn't want to buy a new overpriced tire. Initial quote was 20 minutes.

RE: Changing the mood....

All of the great experiences outweigh the bad by far. Just walking around any campgorund I have been in I strike up conversation with anyone and usually find a new friend and neighbor for the time we are together or longer.

RE: RV Wholesale vs local dealer

I would talk to the sales manager at your local dealership. When we purchased I priced the exact same unit form 3 local dealers, I took the lowest price to the dealership I liked the best and asked them to match it. They actually beat the price by $500.00 ordered and installed my hitch and the service after the sale was great.

RE: RV Storage Option Choices...Help

Those price seem very reasonable to me. Coming from Oregon we paid $80 a month uncovered pull through spot, dump station and wash area. Moved to California and a re paying 195.00 a month for a back in spot with dump station that is tough to get to. There are a couple indoor storage places near me that pull you rig in and out of the building they were priced at like 10.00 a foot.

Ramp Door Help

I am sure someone out there has had the ramp door apart. I looks pretty basic how it goes together, my concern is the springs. We have 4 springs along the bottom of the door. I am sure they are under a pretty good load. Any suggestions would be appreciated. While doing a good cleaning after our last trip I noticed an area of the ramp is swollen and soft. It is difficult to tell where the moisture got in. On the plus side the walls and floor look to be fine.

RE: Best way to Jack up Trailer

Why don't you JUST take it to the tire store Maybe because their tire store doesn't work on trailers. (And I'm not JUST saying that) I brought my TT to discount tire and they were glad to do the work. I have we had a blow out on a flatbed trailer, no spare. Pulled into the first place available before we could even ask the guy came out "We don't do trailer tires" We said we didn't need a trailer tire any radial would do and out came "We don't do trailer tires"

RE: Tires- Trailer or LT

I am only 30' but as soon as our ST tires went south (right at 10K miles) I put Cooper discovery HT tires on it and have had good luck with them. I am about 10K miles on them now only time will tell.

RE: AAA roadside assistance poor in Calif

Good luck with GS being any better than the rest. The roadside service company is just finding a service provider in the area you are in that they contract with. My first and last experience was a blow out on I-5 pretty much in the middle of Salem Oregon. Wife calls and we are told 20 minutes, then we get a call back asking if we wanted to purchase a new tire at almost 300.00 when we said no that certain provider couldn't make it and GS had to find another.

RE: Air bags for rear or on King Pin

I put airbags on to smooth out the ride in the truck. When ever I would hit a descent bump the suspension would get onto the overloads. I installed ride rite airbags and inflate them to 25-35 pounds. Now this does put me towing slightly nose high and when I raised up the pin cost me a bit of clearance.

RE: Insurance

We have had our trailer insured as a rider on the truck policy since it was new. We actually changed insurance carriers from Famers to GEICO and both policies are the same. We have had an occasion to use the comp portion when a tree fell and hit our trailer. I worked just like an auto claim.

RE: Fuel Station Pump Stopped Working

Mine quit working a couple months ago. It was the swollen gears. I was still under warranty so I had the pump manufacture send me a new set. I then sanded down my old set to have a spare set when the new ones swell. _ Same here the pumps are all the same. GPI 8rv call GPI they will send you new gears and a cover, if you can't wait the gears are like 20 bucks at some rv shops. Mine was a couple years out of warranty and they replaced them any way.

RE: Weber Q220 gas grill

We have had ours since 07 and use it all the time. We did have one issue, the regulator went kaput from using the larger propane bottles and adapter hose. Called customer service and they told me when using the adapter you must leave the tank on for several minutes before lighting. It in the instructions as well. They sent me a new hose and regulator as a warranty item. The BBQ is awesome and would buy again doubt I will have to.

RE: Newb

We have stored our trailer outdoors since it was new. Keep up on the roof and caulking and you will be fine. When we were in Portland we were paying 240.00 for 3 months, now in CA and we are paying 195.00 per month. Both places are very secure and had a dump station and washing area.

RE: Tire mileage

On our original ST tires we got right at 10K. The first blow out then one tire separated so we replaced all of them with Cooper HT's that were slightly bigger. So far we have about 5K on them and they are holding up.
