RE: topsail vs henderson beach

I would not choose to stay at Topsail. Only thing that makes Topsail "better' is the full hook-up. To many rules needed because of the way it was built. More like a resort than a state campground. Fine if you like that. To far to the beach for us. We ended up driving down a side road and found very nice public beaches.

RE: Ripping mad

I have a 3500 Ram new since 99 and have parked it in front of my house for 13 years.... it has commercial plates because of weight.... most of the people on the block have used from time to time and it looks like any other pickup. I got a $250 summons for parking overnight bececause of the plate.... boy some laws are just crap!!!! No signage, never used commercially...ugh I could just scream Dave Long Island NY Thats NY state for you!. Any Pick-up is plated commercial, even a little Ranger! But that of course doesn't help with your locality.

RE: Sleeping problems in Travel Trailer

Research and find a new mattress. You will not be a happy sleeper until you do. Many places sell mattresses that fit a camper. Many places you can try them out. may take alot of research but please do it!

RE: Comfort First

900 excess is not alot. Consider the water weight alone. Have you figured in your own weights? That also goes into the towing weight of your truck. Good luck in finding the camper you want. We ended up with recliners that weighed less then the sofa. But then again you may need the sofa. there are so many choices. We are six foot and the RV queen is good enough for us but definately like the walk around or edge around as it is tight.

RE: Easy individual micro cakes

Does anyone know of a disposable cup or bowl that would work for this recipe? Something that can handle microwaving. We use the "I cant Believe its not Butter" cup. small one for the small cake, the larfer one for the double reciepe.

RE: Big rig parks between Jacksonville and Richmond

We found the KOA at Point South to be very poor. Granted it was rainy when we were there last year but our site was really bad rutty and flooded but drained soon after. Will find a different CG this year when we go northward visiting. We do not have a big rig.

RE: CO Story -- Stay safe everyone

All CO detector's sensors have an expiration date which is around 5 years from the time they are put into service. Not just the CO detectors...... LP detectors also have a 'self life' of 5-7 yrs. Check the backside for date. These self life dates can not be stressed enough. Many people do not even know or think about them!!!

RE: Shower Dome Install - Sealents

Do not use the tube of sealer that comes with the dome. It may be the wrong kind. The tube that came with our replacement dome had no indication it was silicone. Definate was the wrong thing to use. What a leaky mess. Had to get it professionally fixed. $200.oo

RE: Help with reservations for Finger Lakes Area...

When we were up there a few years ago to do wine touring, we stayed at Clute Park . It's right in town in Watkins Glen, convient to restauarants the many wineries nearby . It's full hook up Nice little park. This is a city park. Found the people who run it very accomadating, as we made reservations and had to pospone our stay . We were able to stay when we could get there.

Camping with friends- Meals

Strange question here. We usually travel alone and are planning a trip with another couple. We will both have our own campers but will be staying at ajoining sites and spending our days together. Guess we will have to discuss how to handle meals but what do others do? (I have medical food issues but can work around most menus.) Do you plan together ahead of time or just wing it or to each their own?

RE: Gulf front rv parks Alabama and Florida

Topsail is not like you asked about. Topsail is a very nice fancy campground but not near the beach. You take a tram or bike ride quite a ways then walk down a loooong boardwalk to a wide beach. Not my idea of waterfront.

RE: goofy , but true ?

Doesn`t the tow dolly have a plate? once the car is attached to the dolly it becomes part of the dolly. that is where the tow dolly plate comes in even though there are 2 wheels of the car still on the ground it is still part of the dolly. In Florida a Tow Dolly does not need a tag. The guy we sold ours to got a ticket for no tag on his way home pulling it. No car loaded. He went to court and the judge tossed the ticket. Alot of hassle by an uninformed Cop.
