RE: Snowing in Florida Clearwater area

That's right, due to the cold 30 F Temperatures and an incomming clouds, it's snowing right now. 3/3/13 7:35 AM
We believe you. Have seen it snow here before. But the weatherman says it was not snow or sleet but hail. Weatherpeople don't know everything!

RE: I am very proud of a great friend's work

I don't know how heavy it is, and neither does he... but we are both "guessing" in the 5K +/- range.
Yes, that photo was taken without w/d or sway control.
The coach was made in America, and the driver's side door is original.
Why don't folks do a LITTLE bit of research before they spout off about that which they have no knowledge?
(For a start, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spartan_Aircraft_Company)
I've asked for them to e-mail me some inside shots, but I don't know if it is even worth the time and effort to post them here...
Yahoos :(
Love it! Congrats! on a beautiful job. Would love to see the interior. Bet it is a wonder on the inside too.
Ignore the Yahoos on the forum. I ignore those downers too.

RE: Who parks their RV at home or do you pay for storage?

We have an at home pull thru with water, and 30 amp electric, no sewer. We live on a corner so pull in from one street and then pull out on the other street. Park 20 feet from the back door.

roof vent cover

DW was making the bed today and npticed that a chair in the living room was damp. When we went to investigate I looked up and said that vent cover can't be that clean. Got up on the roof and the vent cover was completely gone. The hinge is still there, but all the plexiglass is gone. Haven't used the 5er in a couple of weeks and do not have the foggiest idea where or when we lost it. Good thing it doesn't rain much in FL in the winter. Oh well always something. :-)

RE: Need international drivers license for Fla.?>

I have been a Florida resident for 54 years and in all that time I have had a Florida drivers license. Two years ago I had to renew my drivers license. I am retired from the Military and have owned and lived in a home in Florida for 30 years. With all that, coupled with my long term Florida drivers license history, I had to present my passport, birth certificate and other documents to prove I was a legit citizen. So I guess, in affect, Florida is making everyone's life miserable, including it's own citizens.
You think you needed alot. I being a married woman also need to prove my change of name(s) from the time I was born. So far I've paid NY state for that info. $60. a piece, and have yet to gather the rest of the needed info.
A comment on another post the US requires the Passport not to go to Canada but to come back in! Canada does not require it.

me again still at it

Inquired yesterday about play in the jaws of a hitch. Today while trying to readjust the hitch height I found that there is what I consider a lot of play where the hitch fits onto the rails. With a wrench you can lift up on the hitch and I tappad in a 1/4 inch shim for trial purposes. That got rid of the play but have not hooked up and driven it yet. Question is should there be that much play there. Seems like this would cause a lot of the chucking I am experiencing. Just dont want to buy a new hitch if something like this is the problem

play in jaws of hitch

what would be considered an unacceptable amount of play between the pin and the jaws of a fifth wheel hitch. Have a reese pro series 15k slide bar hitch and it seems awfully sloppy. what type of hitch fits the tightest around the pin for the least play?

Want to move up to bigger truck

Currently have a GMC 1500 and a 25 ft 5th. Pulls okay and it is level when hooked up. Seems like the 2500 trucks we look at sit about 4 inches higher. Will there be problems getting the right height adjustment on the 5th wheel hitch? Now the hitch is all the way up and the pin box is all the way up.

Checking out the ads

Went to the Dodge dealer to find out the real facts. Their ad for a 2013 Ram Quad Cab (pictured) said: 25Hwy MPG; 8900 Max Towing; all new interior. Price quoted in ad $21,885+. Price is with all rebates and or incentives.
Now comes the real facts. Price is for a single cab with no really no frills. That truck does not have the Hemi nor any thing for towing. The price of the one pictured is more in the range of $10k more.
Guess who walked away!

RE: Jack digital tv antena

We bought the Jack because the Wing Man addition went with the tradein. We installed the Jack in place of the old antenna head. So we still have to have the antenna down reminder.
We have found that the reception is decidely better then the other combination. Previously in the same campground we were able to get 5 channels on antenna but this time we could get 12 depending on the weather of course.
