RE: Full time RV costs...

Just my two cents, for what little it's worth - we do it on WAY less than that per month, but I work part time as a workamper. This is always an option :)

RE: Can My Family Ride in the Back?

I think I heard on the news that the temp back there was around 34 degrees :( Poor kids...too bad you can't choose your parents.

RE: Day/Night shade repair,easy?

Thanks for asking this, nycsteve, and for all of the replies on how to fix it! The same thing happened to me the other night when I tried to shut my bedroom window. Now the shade just hangs all willy nilly, and it's driving me crazy!

RE: Okefenokee Swamp Park

I'm not very far from there at all, and Laura S. Walker is one of our fave spots! As already asked, is this in the park or somewhere else?

RE: Latest projects

Looks wonderful! I have been wanting to install flooring for a while now, but DH and I are scared to tackle the slide lips. Great job!

RE: RedMax on the Old Gal and she is looking good!

I have been looking for something to make our 5er look brand new again, so I'm glad to hear about this. What is it, and where can I get it? I googled it, but all I'm coming up with are RedMax trimmers, blowers and chainsaws :p

Wow, thank you Mark from GoodSam, I really appreciate that! That's good customer service right there :)

RE: Any other Apex owners?

I had an Apex 215RBK (it was our first camper ever) and just traded it for a larger 5er about 6 months ago. I have to say, even though we love our 5er, and it's much roomier - I REALLY miss my Apex! Like you, when it was cold, we hardly used any propane, and the AC kept it so cold. It was a very well insulated unit. If we ever get rid of this one, we will more than likely go back to an Apex.

RE: Good Sam Highways Magazine

I've been a member for about a year and a half now, and have NEVER received a Highways magazine! Sounds like I may not be missing much though :p

RE: Passport America On Special

I work at a campground, and had a customer come in today who wanted to purchase a year membership. I got PA on the phone, and they sold him a year for $39.95.

RE: Received invite to Daytona Rally...

Thanks dbbls: I would read the fine print, unfortunately I misplaced my invite! But, I'm glad you pointed out that the vendors close around 6, but hopefully I can still get in to see McPhee sing after that!

RE: Received invite to Daytona Rally...

Thank you TheAmRheins! tandkj: I received a VIP invitation to the rally from GoodSam, and I can't seem to locate it now! It offered a free pass to Daytona, and I just wasn't sure what all it included. I would really like to make it down tonight to see Kathryn McPhee perform, but I'm not sure if we can get on the road soon enough after I get off work today :( Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Received invite to Daytona Rally...

and I'm a little confused. Does this mean I can get into the RV show along with the entertainment (Reba and Kenny)free? Or does it mean only free boondocking? I asked this in an earlier thread, but never recieved an answer. Sorry if it's a stupid question! Since it is a stupid question, please spell out your reply for me :)

RE: The couch is too soft....

I don't know much about this at all, but I'm sure plenty of folks will be by soon to offer some help! Just a thought - I saw an infomercial one day about a thing you add to a regular couch at home to make it like new. You know, the one that shows 3 sumo wrestlers sitting on it after they put the product in place? :p Maybe something like that would work for ya! Good luck!

RE: looking for camp

McIntosh Lake is a very quiet, family owned, no frills park, and it's one of our regular stops. I'm fairly sure their monthly rate is $325 plus elec. We have also stayed numerous times at the Point South KOA, and they devote the back section to long term/FT, but not sure about the price. Nice lake, big, busy park. Also Golden Isles RV in Bwk does long term. $425 incl everything. For $500, you can park on the overnight camping side instead. Restaraunt on site for breakfast and lunch Mon-Fri, but it is not one of the nicer parks. Not the worst, but not the nicest either. Have to say though, the bath houses are very nice! New tile work etc, and are kept very clean!

RE: Neighborly deed gone wrong :(

Wow, thanks so much everyone! I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of you taking the time to respond, and especially to confirm my reaction! So many people are blame shifters and so sue happy nowadays, and I don't ever want to be like that! I know that if I had done the same for someone in this situation, or any other for that matter, I wouldn't expect to get blamed and handed a bill. I know that the guy's heart was in the right place :) To everyone who posted a way to repair it, thank you! I will be looking into the awning patches and the liquid stitch that was mentioned. For now, we have a piece of duct tape - just adds a little character! Have a great week y'all, and thanks again for taking time out to offer your thoughts!
