RE: Shooting straight from no experience to full-timing

Look at a lot of units and write down what you like and don't like- smaller units fit more places. Larger units with slides have more seals to worry about keep a slush fund to fix things. There is always something that will go wrong, heater, ac, fridge, battery tires the list goes on Good luck you will gets lots of feedback here

RE: Carl G Washburne State Park in September

I have been there on 4th of july twice and seen several open spots- I think you should be fine- that is the off season.

RE: DIY Fantastic Fan

I actually did something similar- I had a basic fantastic fan on the overhead bunk ( class c)and decided I wanted to upgrade it- so I bought the upgraded model to install and then put the "guts" of the basic one in the bathroom- its nice setting one to push and one to pull to move fresh air through the rig. And I don't have a loud fan in the bathroom

RE: Strange Part in a Strange Place

For what its worth your city water inlet also has one of these in it - Its a back flow preventer and both failed on my 2008 Winnebago- the hotwater one I replaced the city water I just reassembled. Found the one in your picture after my winterizing took 2 gallons of water and was bleeding out the drain valve of the hotwater tank

RE: RV Refrigerator repair in Sacramento California

Check to see if you actually have 12V coming to the control board- my converter when out and would only supply 8V when we had several lights on in the rv causing the voltage to drop

RE: ARB Locker in front axle

ARB customer service is one of the best in the industry and they have been around for a lot of years. If you can fund the purchase its one of the strongest lockers you'll find also one of the longest in the industry. They are local to where I live and you can call their customer service if you have any questions.

RE: Replacing a 30 amp male plug on Class C umbilical cord

I just go to walmart and get a new cord- and cut the plug off the end and wire it to the RV- if I think about it I get a replacement plug and have another extension cord....

RE: Tired of pulling that fuse?

Looks like a little more research and I found this- GTC CT6100 http://www.ebay.com/itm/GTC-CT6100-Fuse-Socket-Connector-Kit-/330976096004 A way to move a fuse out to standard spade wire connector- add this a switch and a remove fuse block and I think I can do this easily

RE: Tired of pulling that fuse?

bringing this thread up again- I was looking at this mini atm fuse holder on amazon- http://www.amazon.com/Shipping-Holder-Circuit-Profile-Automotive/dp/B00EO5P2B4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394679968&sr=8-1&keywords=mini+atm+fuse+tap Figured if I just put the fuse on the outter position and then ran the red wire to a switch and back to the 1st fuse position- I could do the same thing with a minimal amount of work? I get a clean fuse holder- and a little soldering and I can take it in or out easily? thoughts?

RE: Water Leak From City Water Connection

There is a brass backflow valve on the hot water heater that I had do the same thing to me after the city intake last year. Sucks- I learned how to repair it after reading a few pages, and you can still get the part for the hot water heater. Seems like the obvious stuff fails- when you winterize your unit they tell you to actually push on the valve so that you get the antifreeze to come out.

RE: When is a Geo-cache not a Geo-cache?

Just realized there is one near me in Washington State- wonder if the wife would want to take a weekend and see if we can find it... great idea with the sticks.

RE: Washington state Olympic and areas around

If you want to stay on the coast side kalaloch campground is nice (clay lock is how it is pronounced) it does get very busy but they have sites right on the cliffs edge from the water.

RE: Missoula, MT. - Where to stay?

Twice we've been through- Jim and Mary's was booked both times- once stayed at KOA not our style- we stayed at the Lolo Square Dance campground off of 12- more like small country campground a few miles out of town but that's how we like it. we have family in the area.
