RE: Tired of pulling that fuse?

Looks like a little more research and I found this- GTC CT6100 http://www.ebay.com/itm/GTC-CT6100-Fuse-Socket-Connector-Kit-/330976096004 A way to move a fuse out to standard spade wire connector- add this a switch and a remove fuse block and I think I can do this easily

RE: Tired of pulling that fuse?

bringing this thread up again- I was looking at this mini atm fuse holder on amazon- http://www.amazon.com/Shipping-Holder-Circuit-Profile-Automotive/dp/B00EO5P2B4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394679968&sr=8-1&keywords=mini+atm+fuse+tap Figured if I just put the fuse on the outter position and then ran the red wire to a switch and back to the 1st fuse position- I could do the same thing with a minimal amount of work? I get a clean fuse holder- and a little soldering and I can take it in or out easily? thoughts?

RE: Water Leak From City Water Connection

There is a brass backflow valve on the hot water heater that I had do the same thing to me after the city intake last year. Sucks- I learned how to repair it after reading a few pages, and you can still get the part for the hot water heater. Seems like the obvious stuff fails- when you winterize your unit they tell you to actually push on the valve so that you get the antifreeze to come out.

RE: When is a Geo-cache not a Geo-cache?

Just realized there is one near me in Washington State- wonder if the wife would want to take a weekend and see if we can find it... great idea with the sticks.

RE: Washington state Olympic and areas around

If you want to stay on the coast side kalaloch campground is nice (clay lock is how it is pronounced) it does get very busy but they have sites right on the cliffs edge from the water.

RE: Missoula, MT. - Where to stay?

Twice we've been through- Jim and Mary's was booked both times- once stayed at KOA not our style- we stayed at the Lolo Square Dance campground off of 12- more like small country campground a few miles out of town but that's how we like it. we have family in the area.

RE: How did antifreeze get in fresh water tank?!?!?!?!

In the last year we have had our back flow valve fail on the city inlet and in the hot water tank- I'd 2nd this one

RE: Towing a 2007 jeep wrangler unlimited auto trans 2wd

The only option to tow a 2wd would be to have a driveline disconnect done- last time I read about it was on some trucks- so its possible probably runs around a grand give or take.

RE: Here's a hint for finding parts and accessories

The local place wants to sell them to you for I think $8 here, the only thing I get from them is propane. I tell them the back flow valve on my hotwater tanks is bad and they tell me they've never heard of it and cant find anything about it. Funny the part number is listed in Winnebago's catalog.

RE: Cellular Page Plus

Page Plus runs on Verizons network you'll probably have some of the best coverage. The only cheaper thing I am aware of is a walmart tmobile plan for around $30- but the coverage isn't as good. Straight talk is another options at $30 but you don't get smart phones- they have service through Verizon, tmobile and ATT depending on the phone.

RE: fastening items to RV walls

My solar panels are held on the roof by 3M VHB double sided tape- very high bond. They haven't blown off yet.

RE: Washington Winter Mountain Pass Chain Requirements

Washington will have State Patrol enforcing chain requirements on really bad days.

RE: Towing Jeep GC Question

For braking on more than one vehicle= I purchased a roadmaster even brake- there are several brands- but we have a wrangler and Cherokee we tow for different kids of trips and move the evenbrake between the two cars- its basically a pneumatic air ram and a pump, that activates off of inerta. I have gone down some big hills and been happy to not have the vehicle behind me pushing.

RE: Burns, Or to St George. Route

Its a busy road- but very commonly traveled. If you don't want to stick to the interstate its a nice off route trip.

RE: Straight Talk Full Refund!

Onething with straight talk is they sell phones that are serviced by AT&T, Tmobile and Verizon- the trick is learning what works best where you are.

RE: This or this....and why?

You can shop around and often find deals on used hardware I have purchased road master sterling's for as little at $150 and falcon 2's for $50. And seen readybrakes for $300, its just timing. I have 2 jeeps and a chevy cruze setup for towing. Yes it is expensive but doing it this way is easy.

RE: Must-have upgrades...what are yours?

HWH levelers and solar are our favorites- We added a 2000W Prosine Inverter to power all the internal outlets Dual 6V batteries, Added electrical 120V element to the Hotwater heater (one of the best investments.) Looking at airbags next.

RE: Portable or Hard-WIred Surge Protector?

I have a 30amp hard wired- you can't lose it if its inside the rv.

RE: Fresh water tank fill issue

You could remove the check valve- or just add a way to pressurize a 5 gallon containerto push the water in- On my Winnebago it uses a gravitiy feed fill system with a vent, I had the opposite problem with my check valve- on the city water the check valve failed and water was spewing out it when I turned on electric pump. I ended up putting a cap on the city fill until I could fix it.

RE: Fridge Will Not Work On Electric

I had a problem on my fridge where the converter wasn't putting out 12V, so the fridge board would only work on battery and gas- as soon as the converter was connected to 120 the 12V would drop. and the fridge would run anymore- check your voltage coming to the fridge board- 12v is what my board ran off- when I turned on more lights- the voltage dropped.
