RE: Freezing Question

I did the same as you, then the forecast changed. I dropped the water, and plan to put my ceramic heater on low Wednesday night.

RE: This stinking camper..

Going to pack the wheel bearings this weekend to get ready for Fla. at the end of March. Can't wait.

RE: 5er trailer plates

Here in Tennessee, I got a permanent tag for $84, or I could have paid $16 a year.

RE: Forest River Columbus 320RS 5th wheel

That's the only fiver we've found that we like the layout better than our Montana. It looks like whoever designed it must camp.

RE: Montana 303RK and tow vehicle

Look for a 3500 SRW. Mine was in the same price range as a 2500, and it tows my Montana great. As far as power, everyone knows about the Cummins!

RE: wheel chocks

I made my own. Links: http://www.rverscorner.com/chocks.html http://home.roadrunner.com/~duncanshomepage/homemade_wheel_chocks.htm x2 on the home made. Cost effective and work well, and if you trade campers for one with different spacing, you just have to cut a few more pieces of scrap wood.

RE: Do you use a slider hitch with your short bed??

I have one, but haven't had to use it, yet. It's nice to know it's there if that day ever comes. The newer rigs with the radiused caps sure help in tight situations.

RE: Keystone cougar

You should be able to get that WAY down. I paid less than that for my Montana. Check some online dealers and see what pricing they have.

RE: BFG Goodrich Commercial TA/AS LT 235/85 R16 Recall

When I called my tire shop late Friday about needing 5 tires for the recall the manager asked that I call back Monday morning. I talked with him about 45 minutes ago and was told Michelin authorized the replacement of my BFG Commercial T/A's with Michelin tires at no charge. He said he had them in stock and could replace my tires today if I brought the trailer in. I'm headed there after lunch and will report back on what tires I get... EDIT: They swapped out the BFG Commercial T/A for Michelin LTX M/S2. The date codes for the new tires are between 1412 (April) and 2412 (June), which is more than 18 months 'fresher' than my old set. Bottom line: Better, newer tires for free. What's not to like? My dealer offered me the same deal, but I've not heard anything about anyone running these. Will they work as well as the BFG's were supposed to? I have these tires on my truck. They have about 14,000 miles on them. They are GREAT! I don't know how they will do on a 5er. I have them on my truck also, just haven't seen much info on using them on fifth wheels.

RE: 5th Wheel for short bed truck

We're pulling a 3465 Montana with a short bed 3500 SRW, basically the same dimensions as your truck. It does have the radius corners. I've got a Husky 16k slider, but have never had to slide it back, yet.
