RE: Trying to register a 1971 Travel Trailer with no VIN.

Went thru the same thing a few years back. Take the trailer to your local CHP office that does vehicle inspections. Problem solved in a bout an hour.

RE: Don't hitch up in a hurry like I did!!

Didn't have my 2nd coffee, and after 2hours down the road approached a small town. Red & blue lights flashing behind me. He said I didn't have break lights. I would of if I would have plugged the cord in after hook up. Should of seen the cord after dragging on the pavement for a hundred miles! Lost a half day.

RE: Tow Dolly Sways

How tight does the hitch fit in the receiver? Grab the ball & see how much the hitch will move side to side.

RE: cooking in route?

No reason why it shouldn't work, but I also think it is probably not the best idea to have the gas oven on while rolling down the road. No different then running down the road with the frig on gas.

RE: Have you ever worn out an engine?

No, because I look after mine. But I have seen plenty of them worn out by neglect and abuse. Very few worn out by proper use. When my dad had the GM dealership, we had a pair of brothers (customers) that used Astro vans to deliver the city newspaper around to the surrounding small towns 6 days/week. We did their maintenence. I did an oil change on one van that had 600,000 or 700,000 Km on it and it still ran fine. They'd be in for an oil change every week or two. They did manage to wear out the front wheel bearings though :) Moral of the story is, modern engines (other than a few flawed designs) generally will outlast the rest of the vehicle if looked after IMO. When I first got my Astro with it's 4300 Vortec V6, I asked one of the mechanics at the small country Chevy dealer I used, how these engines lasted. He said that it was a popular engine in farmer's pickups and he had a couple where he changed the oil...original engines had 450,000 kms on them. Still running fine, no major services needed. The 4300 vortec V6 has the same bore & stroke as a small block chevy. Was told once, It was a 350 CI with the front 2 cylinders cut off.

RE: How do I drain fresh water tank

If you can see the tank, should be a clear 3/8 hose on the bottom, follow to the open valve.

RE: Need replacement lock for 91 Pace Arrow 30'

Take the dead bolt to a lock smith & have them make a key. Cheaper then buying a new lock.

Tires out of balance, warped rotors or a bad tie rod end.

RE: Already have 1 Carlisle tire so???????

RE: best brisket in Texas

Sorry.....any establishment that makes its customers wait that long is guilty of abuse I don't think they were making anyone wait, The wait was by choice. A line out front is the cheapest advertisement. People say, look at that line! Must be good!
