RE: Smelly basement

There is a product called "Odors out" that might do the trick.

RE: Lost 12 volt for coach and chassis

Battery disconnect switch or solenoid would be the first place that I would suggest.

RE: REPLACING TIRES ON CLASS A MOTORHOME

Put Hankooks on at the start of summer. Have about 2000 miles on them and they have been fine.

RE: Coachman Sports Coach DP Question

I have a 2007 Encore with a Mercedes Engine. I have not had any major problems with the coach. The fuel mileage is better than the Cat that I had previously. In my opinion, the quality is normal, some things I like better and some could use improvement, but overall, I satisfied.

RE: Dometic Penguin 2 stops running after a few minutes

My unit does not have the heat pump, so based on what's been said, I guess it is operating as it should. I just never run across a unit where the fan cycled. Thanks

RE: Dometic Penguin 2 stops running after a few minutes

Does the system wiring have to be different for the new penguin 2? My unit is the front unit. The unit that came with the MH was working fine, just that the wife thought we needed a larger unit. We took out a 13,500 and installed a 15,000 and have had trouble ever since. The Tech told me, after working for weeks trying to figure out why the unit was acting like it did, that it was designed to operate the way it was operating. When the temperature gets close to the setting, the unit fan speed is designed to drop/slow down and if the temperature gets above the setting by so many degrees, the unit fan is designed to speed up. Not sure that I believe this, but so far no one has come up with a better story and I just live with it. Note that Roland's problem is with the rear unit and mine with the front unit. I don't know about Roland's change out, but for mine the original wiring was used and it was a penguin unit that was removed.??????? Still looking for help.

RE: Odorlos and Rid-X RV

If you system is not vented properly, nothing will work. Check and make sure that the vent is open, sometimes they are found dropped down into the tank.

RE: Dometic Penguin 2 stops running after a few minutes

Roland, I have a Penguin that does almost the same thing. You did not say whether or not when the fan shuts down and the compressor continues to run, if the fan comes back on. Mine does come back on after a few seconds and sometimes at a different speed. This is my second unit, the first one quit completely after about 6 months. The Techs who worked on it changed boards several times and also changed out the thermostat (which was installed with the new ac). Nothing stopped the unit from cycling except putting the fan on manual high or low speed. I have not tried it while the generator was running. If you do find a fix, I would certainly be interested. Thanks, Vance

RE: Sewage valve stuck open

I agree with "thelink," this happened to me and when I could not close the valve after the tank drained, I pulled the valve and sure enough, the cutout for the tank was in the line.

RE: 12v power issue

Sorry, but I gave you a bad location. The switch is located on the "RIGHT" side behind the duals.

RE: 12v power issue

I have 2007 Encore and a couple of years ago had a similar problem. What I found that was causing the problem was the battery disconnect switch. On my unit this switch (solenoid)is located in a compartment behind the left side duals. If you can locate the switch, I would suggest bypassing it temporary to see if your problem goes away. One other thing that can be wrong with this switch, mine was mounted wrong. To operate properly, the solenoid has to be mounted up or down, it will not operate correctly mounted on it's side. Hope this helps.

RE: How does something so simple gets so messed up?

If possible, check and make sure that the zerk was not pushed out of the tie rod by the ball. I've seen this happen and when it does, it is time for a new tie rod.

RE: Splendide Washer/Dryer

I'm also thinking that lint has stopped your air flow. I pulled my unit out, opened up the back to access the air flow hose on the back and found it almost completely stopped up with lint. The hose that I refer to has a large opening 3/4 inches where it is clamped onto the back of the unit. At this opening is where I found my blockage.

RE: RV Plumbing Pipe

It seems that "huntindog" and myself have the odd stuff here. My drain piping is black, but not the standard size. Make sure before you start cutting.
